NEW YORK (Reuters) -The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial on Tuesday imposed a gag order - promising sanctions for any violations - after the former U.S. president used social media to lash out against the judge’s top law clerk. The trial could lead to the dismantling of Trump’s business empire as he seeks to regain the presidency in 2024. Engoron had ruled before the trial that Trump committed fraud, and canceled business certificates for companies that control crown jewels of Trump’s portfolio, including Trump Tower and 40 Wall Street in downtown Manhattan. The trial will review six additional claims including falsifying business records, insurance fraud and conspiracy, and address how much the defendants should pay in penalties. He also faces a January civil damages trial for defaming a writer who accused him of rape, which he denies.

The trial’s second day began with the government’s first witness Donald Bender, Trump’s former accountant at Mazars USA, resuming his testimony.

The performances of all four films – “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” “Saw X,” “The Creator” and “Dumb Money” – told a familiar story at the box office. “PAW Patrol,” from Paramount Pictures and Spin Master, had timing on its side. A third “PAW Patrol” movie has already been green-lit. Sony Pictures’ “Dumb Money,” expanded nationwide after two weeks of limited release but failed to ignite the kind of populist movement it irreverently dramatizes. Made for $30 million, “Dumb Money” wasn’t a massive bet.

Fulton County Sheriff's Office/Handout via REUTERS/File PhotoWASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump ally and former Republican poll watcher Scott Hall on Friday pleaded guilty to conspiring to interfere with Georgia’s elections as part of the former U.S. president’s attempts to overturn his 2020 defeat. Hall so far is the only one of 19 defendants, including Trump, to plead guilty in Fulton County, Georgia’s conspiracy case, one of four criminal prosecutions that have ensnared the frontrunner for the Republican 2024 nomination. A live video of a court proceeding showed Hall pleaded guilty to five counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with the performance of election duties, a misdemeanor charge. Trump has denied wrongdoing and said the case is part of a political witch hunt. Trump has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty in those cases as well.

Trump has denied wrongdoing and said the case is part of a political witch hunt. Trump, Meadows and 17 others were charged in a sprawling indictment in August. Here's a look at the ruling and its implications for Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. WHAT DOES THE RULING MEAN FOR TRUMP’S BUSINESS? Because of Engoron’s fraud ruling, it would largely be limited to how much Trump and his co-defendants must pay in penalties.

The judge described how Trump, his adult sons Donald Jr. and Eric, the Trump Organization and other defendants made up valuations and inflated Trump's net worth to suit their business needs. Trump and the other defendants have argued that they never committed fraud, and that the challenged transactions were profitable. Engoron said James submitted "conclusive evidence" that Trump had overstated his net worth by between $812 million and $2.2 billion. Engoron's decision does not automatically mean James' fraud case will go to trial next Monday. Trump has sued to delay the trial, accusing Engoron and James of ignoring the appeals court order to narrow the case.

Judge Arthur Engoron in his bombshell decision also canceled the New York business certificates of Trump, the Trump Organization, and the other defendants, including two of his sons, in a lawsuit by the state Attorney General's Office. The defendants in the case include Trump, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, former Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg, company executive Jeff McConney, and Trump Organization entities. Engoron also ordered sanctions of $7,500 for five attorneys who represented the Trump defendants for making frivolous and previously rejected arguments in court filings. In the fourth criminal case, Trump is charged with falsifying business records related to a 2016 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Even after Engoron appointed an independent financial monitor for the Trump Organization last year, "defendants have continued to disseminate false and misleading information while conducting business," the judge wrote.

X changes its app store tagline after users complain about confusing new name and logo. The social media platform has seen downloads fall since Elon Musk got rid of the iconic bird logo. The decision to rebrand the site was criticized by ex-Twitter employees, with one calling it "corporate seppuku." The app has changed its description on the app store from "Blaze your glory" to "Formerly Twitter," after the chaotic rebrand of the social media platform saw downloads of newly-christened X fall dramatically. Marketing experts slammed the rebrand as "completely irrational" and warned that it could wipe billions off the value of the social media platform.
