Senators on Sunday released the details of a $118.2 billion aid proposal for Ukraine, Israel and the southern U.S. border, after months of painstaking, closed-door negotiations. The publication of the bill marks a small victory for Senate negotiators who have gone back and forth for months on how to fund border security and whether to continue supporting Ukraine. But just as soon as the Senate back-patting is over, the proposal will face its next major battle: House Republicans. Republican lawmakers have been preparing to greet the Senate bill with hostility. Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., on Saturday announced a House proposal that would fund Israel alone, a blatant attempt to preempt the Senate's broader foreign aid bill.

The Washington Post first reported the Trump campaign was weighing a theoretical 60% Chinese tariff plan. Her disapproval echoes the concerns of Wall Street investors who worry that another China trade war would disrupt markets again. At the time, Deutsche Bank estimated that the trade war was causing the stock market to hemorrhage trillions. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Humanitarian issues in Gaza will be a top priority for U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on his current trip to the region, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Sunday. Blinken was en route to the Middle East in a trip that will include stops in Israel, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the West Bank this week. A top priority for Blinken on this trip will be to get humanitarian help for Gaza Palestinians who are in dire straits after months of military response from Israel to the deadly Oct. 7 attacks in Israel by Hamas. The United States believes it is vital to secure a deal to release the remaining hostages Hamas took during its attack, including American hostages, and an accompanying humanitarian pause, Sullivan said. Israel has said it's determined to crush Hamas militarily and prevent it from returning to power in Gaza, an enclave it has ruled since 2007. In recent days, Israeli forces renewed strikes in the western and northwestern parts of Gaza City, including in areas where some of the salary distributions were reported to have taken place. Four Gaza City residents told The Associated Press that in recent days, uniformed and plainclothes police officers deployed near police headquarters and other government offices, including near Shifa Hospital, the territory's largest. LOS ANGELES (AP) — One of the nation's largest real estate brokerages has agreed to pay $70 million as part of a proposed settlement to resolve more than a dozen lawsuits across the country over agent commissions. In October, a federal jury in Missouri found that the National Association of Realtors and several large real estate brokerages, including Keller Williams, conspired to require that home sellers pay homebuyers' agent commission in violation of federal antitrust law. More than a dozen similar lawsuits are pending against the real estate brokerage industry. Two other large real estate brokerages agreed to similar settlement terms last year. Of the mega-cap growth stocks, Apple (AAPL) has certainly been a bit of a technical outlier in recent months. That downtrend in Q2 began with a gap below the 50-day moving average in early August and continued with a number of failed attempts to regain that 50-day moving average on the way down. Chart suggests exhaustion Over the last three months, Apple has basically bounced back and forth between retests of the July high of around $198 and the 200-day moving average. This bearish momentum divergence suggests exhaustion of upside momentum and leaves me skeptical of further upside here. Key levels to watch include the 200-day moving average around $182, as well as the January swing low around $180.

A top adviser to Donald Trump 's 2024 presidential campaign has a message for some of the wealthiest Republican donors in the country: Don't take the former president's divisive rhetoric too seriously. Wiles' message to donors, to just ignore Trump's hyperbolic rhetoric, is reminiscent of the spin from White House staff while Trump was president. In Palm Beach Tuesday, Wiles' pitch appeared to work, at least on some of the participants. Neither Wiles nor a Trump campaign spokesperson returned requests for comment before publication. A spokeswoman for the Haley campaign said the events this week in New York raised over $1.5 million.

‘Feud: Capote vs. the Swans’ Review: Cold Blooded

“Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” which premieres Wednesday on FX (streaming on Hulu), is something that its protagonist could not abide: a bore. The second season of the anthology series “Feud” stretches the story of Truman Capote’s falling out with the “swans” of New York society across eight episodes and more than seven hours. They have gone instead for chilly, moralistic and cautionary. “Capote vs. the Swans” feels as forbidding and vindictive as the society wives who pass judgment on Capote. An element in that affect is the fashionably fractured approach the show takes to its storytelling.

The unsubstantiated, misleading misogyny of former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s tirade about the harm plastic surgery does to women. Throughout her segment on Moriarty, Kelly latched onto what might, in other hands, under other circumstances, have been sympathetic and important themes. She flagged mental health, the pressures put on women by social media and the beauty industry and the struggle to remain authentic in an increasingly “fake,” AI-dominated world. Moriarty said she would be taking “an extensive if not permanent break” from social media and in her words, she experienced “one of the most challenging weeks” of her life. So much for Kelly’s concerns about her mental health.

WASHINGTON — Members of the House Homeland Security Committee are meeting Tuesday to discuss the Republican-led impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. House Republicans accuse Mayorkas and the Biden administration of disregarding federal laws on immigration and seek to make Mayorkas the second Cabinet official impeached in U.S. history. According to the first impeachment article set forth by House Republicans, Mayorkas "has willfully and systemically refused to comply with Federal immigration laws." The second impeachment article accuses him of breaching the "public trust" and "knowingly" obstructing "lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security."

It all started on Friday when Megan dissed Nicki in her new single, "Hiss," prompting Nicki to reply with her own track.
