Read previewFormer President Donald Trump raked in record cash after he became a convicted felon, a sign of how his legal troubles resonate with his most loyal followers. Trump's campaign did not define what small donors mean, but it typically refers to Americans who donate $200 or less. It's not a surprise that the day provided a major boost to Trump's fundraising. Last month, Trump and Republicans outraised President Joe Biden and Democrats. Senate Republicans' campaign arm said it had its biggest fundraising day of the cycle, raising $360,000 online.

CNN —CNN Opinion asked our contributors to weigh in on Trump’s conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Are there really that many voters whose view of Trump as a man, or politician, could be altered by bookkeeping irregularities? How many would-be Trump voters will be swayed against him because of miscategorized business expenses? Instead of validating Trump’s narcissism, Democrats should turn the camera away from Trump and toward the American people. Democrats should make the case that Trump’s policies would decimate the middle class and that ought to be a (metaphorical) crime.

Read previewIsrael's ongoing war in Gaza — and President Joe Biden's continued support for it — has become a major issue in the 2024 election. After Hamas killed more than 1,200 people in its October 7 attack, Israel launched a counteroffensive aimed at eliminating the group. Here's a guide to where President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump stand on Israel — and why some are threatening to stay home or cast protest votes in November. I mean, moving shots of bombs being dropped into buildings in Gaza… it's a very bad picture for the world." For these voters — some of whom may have even had family members killed in Gaza — they argue that the war outweighs all other considerations.

Kyasia Watson made 2 cents the first time she sold clothes on Roblox, the online metaverse gaming platform — now, that same side hustle earns her over $100,000 a year. Watson, 22, began playing Roblox games in 2011 when she was 8 years old after seeing an ad for it on Google. At its core, Roblox is an app where you can play games designed by other users or create your own games, virtual experiences, avatar clothing and more through Roblox Studio. Unimpressed with the limited clothing catalog offered for Roblox avatars, Watson taught herself how to create digital fashion designs in Photoshop. On Roblox, clothing and accessories can sell for as little as 2 Robux to as much as 2 million.

With former President Donald Trump highly likely to win Montana in November, many Republicans believe he'll be able to aid down-ballot candidates like Sheehy. AdvertisementTester, a moderate Democrat, has established a political brand that has defied the state's GOP orientation for nearly 20 years. Greg Gianforte, the Montana legislature passed housing and land-use reform bills that overhauled the construction process — and now permit more housing density. The issue is sure to be a major issue for Tester — as well as the eventual GOP Senate nominee — for a state in transition. National Republicans see Montana as one of their best opportunities to win a "red" seat, especially as many transplants left Democratic-dominated coastal states for a more rustic environment.

But it was in another courthouse just down the street that Mr. Trump’s wily mentor, Roy Cohn, pulled off one of his greatest legal feats. It was Mr. Cohn who taught Mr. Trump how to manipulate the law, and other people, to his advantage. Mr. Trump always admired Mr. Cohn’s bravado and belligerence; Mr. Cohn’s whole worldview seemed to validate the young developer’s crassest instincts. “If you need somebody to get vicious,” Mr. Trump once said, “hire Roy Cohn.” His legal strategy boiled down to: Delay and deny. Mr. Trump’s lawyers have aggressively sought every delay possible and called for mistrials or new judges on a regular basis.

The main thrust of Blanche’s argument was that the prosecution’s key witness, Michael Cohen, could not be trusted. He portrayed Cohen, Trump’s former fixer, as a greedy liar bent on revenge and labeled him the “G.L.O.A.T.,” or the greatest liar of all time. Blanche’s calculus is simple: Cohen offered the prosecution’s most direct link between Trump and the alleged crime. So if the jury doesn’t believe him, they may have a hard time finding Trump guilty. “This scheme, cooked up by these men, at this time, could very well be what got President Trump elected,” he said.

To the Editor:Re “Trump’s Taste for Tyranny Finds a Target,” by Jamelle Bouie (column, May 26):Thank you, Mr. Bouie, for warning us about Donald Trump’s dystopian deportation scheme. On top of the massive social chaos and moral strife this would cause can be added the economic cost. The impact to the deficit, the economy and inflation would be catastrophic. Voters concerned about today’s prices who are considering voting for Mr. Trump will look back and yearn for the current economy and inflation — as will we all. According to the Center for Migration Studies, about 45 percent of U.S. agricultural workers are undocumented immigrants.

Several investors released a joint letter this month urging fellow shareholders to vote down the package as excessive. Tesla shareholders approved the pay package in 2018, with compensation tied to Tesla's performance including its market value. And he still has time to meet goals he hasn't reached, including on revenue, because the pay package had a 10-year term. In the 440-page proxy statement explaining the vote, a committee of the Tesla board noted the "novel circumstances." Some people began sharing screenshots of their votes in April, shortly after the Tesla board announced the vote, and the deadline to vote online is June 12.

To the Editor:Re “In Top Court, G.O.P. Prevails on Voting Map” (front page, May 24):The action of the conservative wing of the Supreme Court, anchoring the 6-to-3 decision to allow the South Carolina Legislature to go forward with redistricting plans that clearly marginalize African American representation in the state — and after a meticulous review by an appellate court to preclude the plan — is disturbing. The persistent erosion of voting rights and apparent denial that racism is still part of the fabric of American society are troubling. This particular ruling cries out for the need to expand court membership. Raymond ColemanPotomac, Md.

When South Africans vote Wednesday, an unhappy combination of rampant corruption, soaring joblessness, crippling power cuts and feeble economic growth will likely be top of mind. If the jury agrees, Trump would become a convicted felon, and could face up to four years in prison. But Trump’s defense attorneys will have much to say Tuesday about the evidence presented by prosecutors in an attempt to avoid that outcome. As to ledgers and invoices keeping track of these checks, Trump is the owner of the organization, not the bookkeeper or finance person. Cohen claims Trump was with the bodyguard at the time, and that he handed Trump the phone. The evidence shows that in order for checks to be issued to Cohen, Trump would have had to give his approval.

The law has drawn stiff rebukes from the United States and Europe. The State Department has announced visa restrictions on officials behind the foreign-agent law and Congress has threatened further sanctions. The clash over the foreign-agent law in a small country nestled in the Caucasus Mountains has been largely overshadowed by Russia’s war on Ukraine. Georgia, in fact, was the first neighboring country invaded by Russia post-Soviet Union, in 2008, to block its westward drift. In “Baby Reindeer,” Gadd’s stalker is portrayed as unattractive and mentally ill — someone whom her victim actually feels sorry for. “Baby Reindeer,” rated TV-MA by Netflix for “language, nudity, sex, sexual violence, substances,” only has a viewer discretionary warning before “Episode 4” wherein Gadd’s character is sexually assaulted. Information is also available on sexual assault, sexual violence and relationship abuse. Neither Netflix nor the “You” and “Baby Reindeer” teams responded to CNN’s requests for comment. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. failed to report allegations of senior officials' misconduct in a timely manner, according to a new memo from the agency's internal watchdog. The Office of Inspector General "learned of several allegations of misconduct regarding senior FDIC officials that were not reported to the OIG in a timely manner," said the letter, dated Thursday. "The OIG is now reviewing these allegations to determine how they should be incorporated into OIG work plans." A scathing independent report published in April found a widespread culture of harassment and discrimination at the FDIC, citing allegations from more than 500 FDIC employees. "The FDIC has failed to provide a workplace safe from sexual harassment, discrimination, and other interpersonal misconduct," the report concluded.

Bhutan's governing philosophy of "Gross National Happiness" has been heralded the world over for balancing economic growth with the well-being of its citizens.
