Swift has partnered with Capital One since 2019, so some fans applied for cards even earlier for access to exclusive merch. Others sent an influx of credit card applications on November 1. Taylor Swift and Capital One first teamed up in 2019 for a multi-year deal ahead of the release of her album Lover.

CONCORD, N.H. — The father of Harmony Montgomery, a New Hampshire girl who disappeared in 2019 at age 5 but was not reported missing until late last year, has been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, authorities said Monday. Other counts against Adam Montgomery, 32, include falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse between December 2019 and March 2020. An attorney for Adam Montgomery did not immediately comment. Police said they contacted Adam Montgomery, who had custody of Harmony, and other family members by the end of December. Bail for Kayla Montgomery was recently revoked after she didn’t show up at a hearing on charges against her, including that she lied to state health officials about having Harmony Montgomery in her care.

The magic of a midnight showing wasn’t just about the film but about the community created standing in line together. Some of these fan theories also fuel speculation that Swift might be queer, and in the lead-up to the album release, this conjecture culminated in debate about whether “Midnights” would be Swift’s coming out album. I study fandom and online communities, especially communities that form around fanfiction, and have seen up close that fan theories bring joy to those who engage in making them. There can be a downside to fan theories created around celebrities, of course. But for now, my For You Page has been full of excited videos from fans just enjoying Swift’s music.

On TikTok, the hashtag “Gaylor” has more than 264 million views; the term refers to Swift fans who subscribe to the theory that she is queer. Fans have gone down these rabbit holes before, speculating over other hints across Swift’s songs, music videos and social media posts. Previous Easter eggs discovered by fans include the album title for “Lover” hidden in the background of the music video for “Me!” ahead of the album title’s announcement. “I think a lot of people have to deal with this now ... because we live in the era of social media,” Swift said. In a 2019 interview with Vogue, she addressed why she made her support for the LGBTQ community more visible.

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a comet-like forked tail streaming from the asteroid Dimorphos. NASA's DART spacecraft slammed into the asteroid in September, as practice for saving Earth. In fact, it kind of looks like a comet now, NASA discovered when the Hubble Space Telescope snapped a new image of the distant space rock. So on September 26, the DART spacecraft slammed into Dimorphos, pushing it slightly closer to the larger asteroid it's orbiting, called Didymos. Telescopes across the planet and throughout Earth's orbit, including the new James Webb Space Telescope, are watching the asteroid closely.
