Paper Live, a interactive, educational live-streaming platform, launched in September 2022. The streamer is part of remote tutoring service Paper, which partners with school districts. This fall, it premiered Paper Live, a live-streaming service that includes an interactive element — and has a Hollywood-seasoned writer/executive producer at the helm. The newly expanded Paper Live launched around the start of the 2022-2023 academic year in the US. "We're seeing an uptick in not just usage of Paper Live but Paper in general because they're more familiar with the platform," said Cutler.
Taylor Swift just announced a 2023 stadium tour. Some fans are signing up for Capital One credit cards to get early access to tickets. Swift has partnered with Capital One since 2019, so some fans applied for cards even earlier for access to exclusive merch. Others sent an influx of credit card applications on November 1. Taylor Swift and Capital One first teamed up in 2019 for a multi-year deal ahead of the release of her album Lover.
CONCORD, N.H. — The father of Harmony Montgomery, a New Hampshire girl who disappeared in 2019 at age 5 but was not reported missing until late last year, has been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, authorities said Monday. Other counts against Adam Montgomery, 32, include falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse between December 2019 and March 2020. An attorney for Adam Montgomery did not immediately comment. Police said they contacted Adam Montgomery, who had custody of Harmony, and other family members by the end of December. Bail for Kayla Montgomery was recently revoked after she didn’t show up at a hearing on charges against her, including that she lied to state health officials about having Harmony Montgomery in her care.
The magic of a midnight showing wasn’t just about the film but about the community created standing in line together. Some of these fan theories also fuel speculation that Swift might be queer, and in the lead-up to the album release, this conjecture culminated in debate about whether “Midnights” would be Swift’s coming out album. I study fandom and online communities, especially communities that form around fanfiction, and have seen up close that fan theories bring joy to those who engage in making them. There can be a downside to fan theories created around celebrities, of course. But for now, my For You Page has been full of excited videos from fans just enjoying Swift’s music.
On TikTok, the hashtag “Gaylor” has more than 264 million views; the term refers to Swift fans who subscribe to the theory that she is queer. Fans have gone down these rabbit holes before, speculating over other hints across Swift’s songs, music videos and social media posts. Previous Easter eggs discovered by fans include the album title for “Lover” hidden in the background of the music video for “Me!” ahead of the album title’s announcement. “I think a lot of people have to deal with this now ... because we live in the era of social media,” Swift said. In a 2019 interview with Vogue, she addressed why she made her support for the LGBTQ community more visible.
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a comet-like forked tail streaming from the asteroid Dimorphos. NASA's DART spacecraft slammed into the asteroid in September, as practice for saving Earth. In fact, it kind of looks like a comet now, NASA discovered when the Hubble Space Telescope snapped a new image of the distant space rock. So on September 26, the DART spacecraft slammed into Dimorphos, pushing it slightly closer to the larger asteroid it's orbiting, called Didymos. Telescopes across the planet and throughout Earth's orbit, including the new James Webb Space Telescope, are watching the asteroid closely.
Retail executives say the World Cup, moved to the winter to avoid the intense Qatari summer temperatures, has totally thrown the algorithms they increasingly use to predict trading and plan their logistics. "It's also an executional headache, because right when you want to have everything Christmas out, you've got to somehow reflect slabs of booze and snacking for the World Cup," he said. During the last World Cup in July 2018, which coincided with a prolonged period of hot weather, shoppers visited UK supermarkets an extra 13 million times, according to market researcher Kantar. Of course, customers visiting stores to buy festive goods could buy in World Cup supplies at the same time. "It's not going to be as big as the summer World Cup, that is clear," said Fraser McKevitt, head of retail and consumer insight at Kantar.
The Orionids meteor shower peaks late Thursday night and into early Friday morning. Colorful streaks and bursting fireballs make this one of the year's most beautiful meteor showers, according to NASA. A meteor streaks past the Canis Minor constellation in the night sky during the annual Orionid meteor shower in Ronda, near Malaga, Spain, on October 22, 2017. NASA recommends against using telescopes or binoculars to view a meteor shower, since those instruments show only a limited portion of the sky at a time. A stargazer waits for light clouds to clear to watch the Perseid meteor shower to begin near Bobcaygeon, Ontario, on August 12, 2015.

Recognizing that all-day “casual comfort” is now an acceptable sartorial standard, even for adults, kids’ clothing seller The Children’s Place is going full-on into grown-up wear. The retailer on Wednesday launched a new sleepwear and loungwear brand called PJ Place that specifically targets Millennials and Gen Zers. PJ Place products, priced at $10.95 to $69.95, include pajama sets, robes, thermal sets, graphic tees, socks and slippers for young adults and older shoppers. PJ PlaceTo that end, Markee said PJ Place aims to expand the company’s market share in the adult sleepwear and loungewear space overall. Going after the adult sleepwear and loungewear market is a smart move, said Maria Rugolo, apparel industry analyst with market research form NPD.
ReutersThe explosion of TikTok's popularity has pushed the app into the biggest technology companies' focus. Google, Apple and Microsoft all have TikTok accounts, with over 8.5 million likes between the three. While Apple has more than 1.3 million fans on the platform, Google and Microsoft have 403,000 and 143,000, respectively. Big tech companies are finding success on TikTok by not only creating personable content, but by creating content that follows trends already on TikTok — often related to corporate humor and professional advice. While more users are flocking to TikTok, Easter said big tech firms could miss out if they don't invest in content creation.
Hunter Biden looks on during the annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, April 18, 2022. More than 30 Senate Republicans asked Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday to give the federal prosecutor who has been investigating Hunter Biden for several years "special counsel protections and authorities." Giving U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss special counsel authority would also "provide additional assurances to the American people that the Hunter Biden investigation is free from political influence," the letter argued. Hunter Biden disclosed the existence of the criminal probe in late 2020, shortly after his father was elected president. Hunter Biden has not been charged with any of those crimes, and it is not clear if he will ever be charged.

(CNN) You may have heard of atmospheric rivers impacting the West Coast. Apparently, atmospheric rivers also occur in the eastern US, unleashing a river of moisture like what we will see this week. The reason East Coast atmospheric rivers aren't talked about much isn't because they are rare. The West gets about half that number of atmospheric rivers each year, yet they account for double the annual rainfall percentage. It will combine with the available moisture provided by the atmospheric river we talked about and will result in the perfect setup for severe weather.

A "vaginal egg" will not balance your hormones, regulate your menstrual cycle, or help with bladder control. On Tuesday, Goop settled a lawsuit brought by the Santa Clara District Attorney’s office and others that alleged the company's claims about its "vaginal eggs" were hogwash. Candace Lowry/YoutubeThe statement added: "Goop provides a forum for practitioners to present their views and experiences with various products like the jade egg. I need to start my jade egg practice," she said with a laugh. Jen Gunter, a California-based obstetrician and gynecologist, wrote a widely cited blog post in 2017 about why Goop's vaginal jade eggs are a bad idea.
“What a joyous occasion!” Bill Cunningham said last year of the Fifth Avenue Easter parade, calling it “a carnival celebration of spring.” He explained to us that the parade, which gained popularity in the 1880s, started as an after-church fashion procession by the residents of Fifth Avenue. It evolved into an occasion for people to dress up in even more whimsical costumes with “centuries of style represented,” he said. He started photographing the parade in the 1950s and continued until 2016, two months before he died. His pictures capture the humor, oddities and imaginativeness of the event, where fanciful hats, brightly colored clothes and enthusiasts of all things vintage are found on every block. Here are some of his photos, unpublished until now, from the past six years.
