More than 13,800 children have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7, according to UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. And "one child is injured or dies every 10 minutes" in Gaza, the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women said in a statement. More than 10,000 women have been killed in Gaza since the war began, 6,000 of whom left 19,000 orphaned children behind, the statement said. As sales of Teslas drop and demand for electric vehicles cools — even as more models enter the market — an increasing number of automakers are competing for a slice of a shrinking pie. Nearly 269,000 electric vehicles were sold in the United States in the first three months of this year, according to Kelley Blue Book. And amid the quarter-to-quarter slowdown in the industry, Tesla’s market share has fallen from 62 percent at the start of 2023 to 51 percent now. Elon Musk told employees on Monday that Tesla would cut 10 percent of its work force. Investors, in turn, have been spooked: Tesla’s stock price has dropped over 30 percent this year, erasing billions of dollars in market capitalization.

Nvidia and the Georgia Institute of Technology announced Wednesday the first artificial intelligence supercomputer designed for student use. At first, only Georgia Tech's undergraduate students will be able to use the computing cluster, which is fueled by Nvidia's enterprise AI software and a "virtual gateway" developed by Penguin Solutions. So far, students have used the supercomputer in just one class — foundations of machine learning — since the beginning of the semester, but Georgia Tech plans to continue scaling usage. Georgia Tech's supercomputer runs on 20 Nvidia HGX H100 systems, which house 160 of Nvidia's H100 GPUs, which are high in demand across the tech industry. For reference, it would take one of these 160 GPUs a single second to come up with a multiplication function that would take 50,000 students 22 years, according to a Georgia Tech release.

CNN —House Republicans leading the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden were dealt their latest blow this week when the CIA informed them that an allegation they pushed was false, the latest example of House Republicans citing questionable information to make a serious claim. But the CIA has refuted that claim in a letter obtained first by CNN that was sent to Jordan and Comer. House Republicans are pushing back on the refutation. “I’ve made a document production in conjunction with the grand jury investigation,” Morris testified in his closed-door interview with Republicans conducting the inquiry in January. Republicans have raised questions about why Morris lent the president’s son millions of dollars and have sought to connect him to their impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
