A suburban Philadelphia man has been accused of drugging at least five women and a teenage girl he met on a dating site and sexually assaulting them at his home while they were impaired, authorities said. A state district judge struck down North Dakota's abortion ban Thursday, saying that the state constitution creates a “fundamental right” to access abortion before a fetus is viable. "The Court concludes [the law] violates the Constitution of the State of North Dakota and is void for vagueness and of no effect," the order stated. The ruling stemmed from a request from the state to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a North Dakota clinic in 2022. Even though the judge’s ruling would make abortion legal in the meantime, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights, there are no longer any clinics performing abortions in North Dakota. North Dakota's ban prohibited abortion at all stages of pregnancy, except in the case of death or serious health risk.

Meta is teaming up with Snapchat and TikTok as part of a new initiative to prevent content featuring suicide or self-harm from spreading across the social media platforms, Meta said Thursday in a blog post. Under Thrive, Meta will identify content that features suicidal themes or self-harm and flag that content to TikTok and Snapchat so they can also investigate if the same or similar content has been posted to those apps. When content featuring suicide or self-harm is identified on a Meta platform, it will be assigned a number known as a “hash,” according to the spokesperson. Social media platforms, including Meta, TikTok and Snapchat, have long been criticized for not doing more to moderate content that teens consume, including video and images of self-harm. Turkey has opened an investigation into the death of a Turkish-American activist believed to have been shot by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank and will request international arrest warrants, Ankara said on Thursday. The body of the woman, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, will arrive in Turkey on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said. Israel has taken responsibility for the death of Eygi, who was killed last Friday while taking part in a protest against Jewish settlement expansion in the West Bank. A Turkish foreign ministry source said it was anticipated that Eygi’s body would be flown from Tel Aviv to Baku on Thursday night, and on to Istanbul on Friday morning. He told reporters that Turkey had evidence regarding the killing and would make international arrest requests.
