New York CNN Business —Shepard Smith will exit CNBC later this year after the business-focused news network announced on Thursday that it will cancel his show as it undergoes a “strategic realignment” under new leadership. Sullivan indicated to employees that he wanted to invest more resources in financial news and said that Smith’s show will be replaced in early 2023 with a business-focused program. Sullivan acknowledged, however, that the “strategic realignment” will result in “some difficult decisions.”“Change is difficult, particularly when talented, good people are impacted,” he wrote. Sullivan said CNBC “will work across the News Group to identify other potential opportunities” for them. Smith was hired by Hoffman after leaving the right-wing channel Fox News over disagreements with its editorial decisions in recent years.

He defeated President Jair Bolsonaro, a right-wing nationalist who has overseen rising deforestation and appointed climate change skeptics as ministers. Gleisi Hoffman, the head of Lula's Workers Party, on Tuesday confirmed he would attend COP27. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also invited Lula to attend the summit in a message congratulating him on his election victory. "I have absolute certainty that...various national representatives will request to meet with President Lula," Teixeira said, adding that she was being directly consulted on the matter.

The group’s analysis found that election deniers were most prevalent in Arizona state legislative races, where they made up 87% of all Republican nominees in those races. In both Pennsylvania and Michigan, 62% of all Republican state legislative nominees in each state were election deniers, the group found. In Minnesota, 42% of all Republican nominees in state legislative races were election deniers, while in Nevada, 31% were. That included several incumbents and candidates in Minnesota who'd who had questioned or challenged the results of the 2020 election.
