Domino’s will be using Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles for delivery at select U.S. locations. Domino’s Pizza Inc. is investing in electric vehicles for some of its U.S. outlets to help attract drivers and overcome a worker shortage that has hobbled pie deliveries industrywide this year. The world’s largest pizza chain by stores and sales said it would procure 800 Domino’s-branded Chevrolet Bolts for 37 of its own stores and hundreds of others run by its U.S. franchisees.
That prompted Mr. Musk to say there has been a “massive drop in revenue” in a tweet last Friday. “I understand if people want to, you know, give it a minute and see how things are evolving,” Mr. Musk said. “Obviously Twitter cannot be simply some extension of me, because then anyone who doesn’t agree with me will be put off,” Mr. Musk said. Other potential new features include letting verified subscribers post high-quality videos that are up to several hours long, according to Mr. Musk. Twitter’s pivot toward subscriptions and e-commerce could also help minimize trolls and fake accounts, according to Mr. Musk.
Millions more electric vehicles on the road could make the US power grid more resilient. However, energy and transportation experts say that with some planning, utilities are fully capable of handling more clean cars plugging in. Better yet, electric SUVs, trucks, and buses can strengthen the grid if deployed smartly. EVs can store energy for when it's needed mostWhen electric cars are parked (which is most of the time), their batteries can collectively become a valuable asset to the greater grid, experts say. Electric cars could do just that, he said.

Startup AMP just raised $17.5 million for its tech that looks into battery health. Battery management is key to saving EVs from costly recalls. Monitoring battery health can help avoid costly recalls (like that of 142,000 Chevrolet Bolts), extend an EV's life, and manage the way EVs charge. AMP's energy management assesses battery health and performance as the battery sits in a car or in storage. AMP does so through its hardware, using an energy management unit manufactured by third-party partners, as well as a battery management system and software that provides insights.
Danika Fickler, 18, a freshman at Colorado State University, on her 1986 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer drag racer, as told to A.J. I did a lot of growing up at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kan. My parents honeymooned at this racetrack when they married in 1993. Both of them have been drag racing since before I was born. My mom was a class winner at Heartland in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and my dad won a National Hot Rod Association [NHRA] national event there in 2019. When I go to Heartland now, people come up to me all the time to tell me that they knew me when I was a baby.

Authorities released body camera video Tuesday that showed the aftermath of a deadly Oklahoma crash allegedly caused by a teen accused of topping 150 mph in a Ford Mustang. Video obtained from the Stillwater Police Department by NBC affiliate KFOR of Oklahoma City showed the mangled Mustang on its side and a red Chevrolet Impala that appeared to have been demolished. A police officer can be seen in the video racing from car to car checking for survivors and talking with witnesses. The crash occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on State Highway 51 as House drove east in the road's westbound lanes, police said. Vehicle data showed House’s Mustang was driving "in excess" of 150 mph, the department said.

Prices for the new Bolt EUV, which is taller and roomier, dropped to a base of about $28,200, $6,300 less than before. The 2023 Bolt EV now has a starting price of $25,600 and, for the Bolt EUV, $27,200. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is a taller, roomier version of the Bolt EV electric hatchback. Like many electric cars, it can be driven “one pedal” style, with the car braking gently as the accelerator pedal is lifted.

General Motors Tuesday reported better-than-expected profits for the third quarter and confirmed its prior outlook for the full year. Detroit’s profit engine is still humming, but investors are waiting for the great reset. General Motors on Tuesday reported better-than-expected profits for the third quarter and, more importantly, confirmed its prior outlook for the full year. This came as a relief after a poor second quarter, when the company left more than 90,000 vehicles unfinished in inventories for want of semiconductors and other components. Also, Ford warned last month that it was experiencing similar problems in the third quarter.

The first version, due in early 2024, is the fully loaded Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, which will be built in limited numbers and priced from $107,000. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com RegisterLike its sister model, the Chevrolet Silverado EV, the four-door Sierra EV shares its Ultium battery pack with the GMC Hummer EV. The high-end Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 boasts 754 horsepower and an estimated range of 400 miles. When the battery pack is depleted, a DC fast charger can add about 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, GM said. The feature-laden Sierra EV Denali comes with an adaptive air suspension, a massive 16.8-inch center display, 14-inch multi-color head-up display, panoramic glass roof and Super Cruise hands-free driving assist.
General Motors unveiled its latest electric pickup, the new electric GMC Sierra, and began taking reservations for a fully-loaded $107,000 version, called Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, on Thursday. The automaker expects to begin shipping the Edition 1 in early 2024 and to add lower-priced versions of the Sierra EV — starting at around $50,000 — later that year. It says the pickup will offer buyers something different when it begins arriving at dealers, even though it shares much of its technology with GMC's Hummer EV pickup and SUV and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV. One of the biggest differences between the GMC's wild Hummer EV and the new electric Sierra might be the new truck's traditional pickup shape. "With the Hummer EV, we found that 70% of customers with reservations are new to EVs, and about 75% of them are new to the GMC brand."

The Orion plant, in operation since 1983, was beginning to transition from making a variety of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to EVs. "We started slowly introducing the Bolt on the assembly line," he said, a process that can take up to a year while working out the bugs. There's specialized training required for all the assembly workers on how to deal with those potentially dangerous connections in a safe manner, he said. In essence, "it takes more of an electrician than it does a mechanic" to assemble an EV, Brown said.. The recently upgraded center houses manufacturing laboratory facilities that simulate steps along the assembly line, including robotics and sheet metal fabrication.
CNN —General Motors unveiled a new, slightly bigger redesigned version of its cheapest entry-level SUV, the Trax. The subcompact Trax SUV has a starting price of just $21,500, a couple of hundred dollars below it’s current price putting it firmly among the cheapest SUVs on the market. All versions of the Trax, including flashy-looking Trax RS models, will have starting prices under $25,000, GM executives said. The Venue, Hyundai’s cheapest SUV, is front-wheel-drive only but the slightly more expensive Kona offers all-wheel-drive as an option. Active noise cancellation will also be a standard feature on all Trax models.
