July 13 (Reuters) - Alex Mashinsky, the founder and former CEO of bankrupt cryptocurrency lender Celsius Network, was arrested and charged with fraud, a U.S. prosecutor in New York said Thursday, while three federal regulatory agencies sued him and his company. Mashinsky, 57, was charged with seven criminal counts - including securities fraud, commodities fraud and wire fraud - while Celsius' former chief revenue officer, Roni Cohen-Pavon, was charged with four criminal counts, according to the indictment, which was unsealed on Thursday. Its founder Sam Bankman-Fried was charged with fraud last year, and has pleaded not guilty. Crypto lenders such as Celsius grew rapidly as crypto prices surged during the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Federal Trade Commission also sued Celsius and Mashinsky.

Astranis will own and operate the satellite, with services provider Orbits Corp. buying capacity through a long-term contract for a local Philippine internet service provider, HTechCorp. Its currently preparing to launch two more batches of satellites – which Astranis calls "Block 2" and "Block 3." But the company's approach marks a unique way of providing broadband service from space, Gedmark has previously said. Astranis will be able to "cover the entire Philippines with this one satellite," Gedmark noted.

They estimate the high rates have pushed up net household interest expense by around A$30 billion over five years through 2024. "Given Citi forecasts another two rate rises, we think confidence will remain depressed for now," the analysts said.

Scientists made that point anew on Monday in a study that used observations of a ferocious class of black holes called quasars to demonstrate "time dilation" in the early universe, showing how time then passed only about a fifth as quickly as it does today. The observations stretch back to about 12.3 billion years ago, when the universe was roughly a tenth its present age. Quasars - among the brightest objects in the universe - were used as a "clock" in the study to measure time in the deep past. Quasars are tremendously active supermassive black holes millions to billions of times more massive than our sun, usually residing at centers of galaxies. The explosion of individual stars cannot be seen beyond a certain distance away, limiting their use in studying the early universe.
