When I moved to Northern Ireland from Ohio to marry my husband 24 years ago, I hadn't expected that raising children here would be as different as it has been. Mansfield said an Eras Tour proposal could be "really romantic" but urged couples to ensure their motives were deep. Make sure your partner would enjoy a public proposalAnother important factor to consider is whether your partner would enjoy a public proposal. Jaime Bronstein, a relationship therapist, said an Eras Tour proposal is a great idea if Swift's music has played a "significant role in your relationship." However, she added that it's important to check if a public proposal is something your partner would feel comfortable with. "If your significant other is more private or would prefer a more intimate setting, a public proposal at a concert might cause discomfort or anxiety," she said.

In 2016, when I was seven months pregnant and my oldest son was 6, we moved to the Netherlands for my husband's work. During my time there, I noticed several differences between raising a family in the Netherlands and in the United States. Most parents would say "don't parent my child" or "don't tell me how to parent my child". Childcare is subsidizedSince childcare is subsidized in the Netherlands, I was able to start my own circular children's clothing company even while raising young children. My family and I ate at Bob Evans, a chain restaurant known mostly for breakfast, for the first time. Our breakfast for 4 people cost $63 and included 4 drinks, an appetizer, and 4 breakfast entrées. AdvertisementAs fast-food prices rise, more consumers are finding the value in dining out at chain restaurants — including my husband and I. We love getting breakfast together on the weekends, so we decided to visit Bob Evans for the first time to see what kind of value we'd find. When I was little, I'd stand on a kitchen chair by the counter as my father poured flour into the mixer. I stopped baking during those early parenting years because I was living with undiagnosed multiple sclerosis (MS). When my younger son was a toddler, I couldn't stand long enough to cook dinner, let alone bake. AdvertisementAs my legs begged for rest, I'd slowly sink downward into a sitting position until I reached the kitchen floor. By the time my second son was born, I'd already exhausted doctors in every specialty without receiving a diagnosis.

We had different ideas about what our trip should beWhen my mom had initially invited me to "visit stone circles in the UK," I had misunderstood this as "taking a selfie at Stonehenge." Then there were the stone circles. We never fought about my queerness or the fact that I was never going to attend medical school. Read previewIn 2005, we were a newly married couple living in our 2,000-square-foot house in Nashville. We quit our gigs and, by April, had bought a house in a town north of Rome. By November, we'd officially moved to a tiny 500-square-foot house in Italy with a bathroom the size of a Spirit Airlines lavatory. First of all, the entire house is one big open room that's about the size of our old living room — our kitchen, foyer, and dining table are all in the same space. Although electricity is pricey, having a small house makes our bills manageable.

Huawei's latest high-end phone features more Chinese suppliers, including a new flash memory storage chip and an improved chip processor, a teardown analysis showed, pointing to the progress China is making towards technology self-sufficiency. Online tech repair company iFixit and consultancy TechSearch International examined the inside of Huawei Technologies' Pura 70 Pro for Reuters, finding a NAND memory chip they said was likely packaged by the Chinese telecoms equipment maker's in-house chip unit HiSilicon and several other components made by Chinese suppliers. Huawei's resurgence in the high-end smartphone market after four years of U.S. sanctions is being widely watched by both rivals and U.S. politicians as it has become a symbol of growing U.S.-China trade frictions and China's bid for technology self-sufficiency. Huawei launched the Pura 70's four smartphone models in late April and the series quickly sold out.

I've always known that my parents were older than the parents — and occasionally even the grandparents — of my peers. Having older parents than my peers was both rewarding and challenging while growing up. Almost any child with older parents, regardless of the generation they were born into, can tell you they've imagined what taking care of their parents would look like. To my surprise, many of my Gen Z friends knew exactly what I was going through. You rarely tell the "outside" — be it your extended family or friends, what's going on "inside" — or in the home.

I wanted to set foot on the European and Asian side of Istanbul during a recent visit with my kids. A $1 commuter ferry was the cheapest option for us to go from the European side to the Asian side. The ride was only 20 minutes each way, and I was surprised not to see more tourists on the ferry.
