Magee, 30, told Business Insider that she came up with some of the types based on her own relationships. They break down into six communication types:Volunteers vs. Invite-Onlies: According to Magee, Volunteers share information about themselves without being asked first. Guessers only ask for things if they're pretty sure the answer will be "yes," and they think that when others ask them things, they're expecting a "yes," too. AdvertisementBut while there's no "bad" communication style, Magee said extremes on either side can be challenging to deal with. Plus, she said, our communication types can vary depending on who we're with.

Read previewThe man who flung himself over a bench to violently attack a Nevada judge told police officers afterward that he was having a bad day, according to an arrest report obtained by local NBC affiliate KSNV. In the scuffle, one officer tripped, dislocated his shoulder, and cut his head in an injury that required 25 stitches, KSNV reported, citing the arrest documents. In those documents, Holthus told officers that a "big, strong and angry" Redden slammed her head into the wall behind her bench, struck her multiple times, and pulled out her hair. Officers later reported that Redden told them — unprompted — that he had a bad day and had attempted to kill the judge, KSNV reported, citing the arrest report. Holthus, who returned to work the day after the assault, has ordered Redden to re-appear in court "by any and all means necessary," local CBS affiliate KLAS reported, citing court documents.

Did you know that at some point in the ’90s there were two separate, very different Sonic the Hedgehog TV series running simultaneously? “And the same guy played Sonic in both shows,” Scott Pilgrim, the doofy 23-year-old layabout of “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” shares, unprompted, to his love interest, Ramona Flowers. The same guy playing two different versions of the same guy? It’s almost like how the same guy (Michael Cera) has now played two different versions of this same guy (Scott Pilgrim) — first in Edgar Wright’s damn-near-perfect 2010 film, “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” and now in this underwhelming Netflix anime adaptation, both based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s beloved graphic novel series. “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” isn’t a reboot or a sequel; it begins almost identically to the film but takes a sharp turn at the end of the first episode that sets it up as essentially an alternate-reality scenario.

But by then she was well positioned to occupy the rarefied worlds of alternative film, fashion and music, insulated from snarky criticism and the crassness of commercial demands. I don’t see the presence of these rarefied worlds — either in her biography or as depicted on the screen — as a shortcoming. Arguably, Ms. Coppola is exceptional as an artist because nobody among her contemporaries succeeds in preserving that pristine air the way she does, especially when used to embody an explicitly feminine worldview. There may be a rebelliousness in this stillness, and a romance — of taking up things and pondering them in your heart. But on the most basic level, what Ms. Hirschberg described as a strength is a tendency to abstain, to not do something — a tendency shared by many of Ms. Coppola’s protagonists.

The outbursts demonstrated the former president’s disdain for a case that has already imperiled his family business and labeled him a fraud and a cheat. Mr. Trump, who was accused by Ms. James of inflating his net worth to defraud banks and insurers, acknowledged helping to assemble annual financial statements submitted to the banks. “I would look at them, I would see them, and I would maybe on occasion have some suggestions,” said Mr. Trump, who began the day looking tired but soon grew animated. Although the admission appeared to bolster the attorney general’s case, Mr. Trump, seated 30 feet from Ms. James, also sought to minimize the import of the financial statements, which he said he largely left to aides. He noted that they contained numerous disclaimers, making them essentially “worthless.” Banks paid little attention to them, he said, before promising, unprompted, that some of his bankers would soon testify in his defense.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump has testified in court as a football owner, casino builder and airline buyer. Trump has testified in court in at least eight trials since 1986, according to an Associated Press review of court records and news coverage. They show clear parallels between Trump as a witness and Trump as a president and current candidate for the office. Trump testified that his $365 million purchase, later approved, would be a “major boost in morale” for employees. In his April deposition, Trump soberly described the presidency as the “most important job in the world” before bragging about saving lives by preventing North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un from launching a nuclear attack.

Ron DeSantis moved Friday to disqualify the federal judge overseeing Disney 's political retaliation lawsuit, alleging the judge's comments in previous cases raise doubts about his impartiality. Disney filed a civil lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Tallahassee, Florida, after the company's development deals were nullified by a board of supervisors that DeSantis had picked to oversee the district that includes Walt Disney World. DeSantis had replaced the board with his preferred picks after he and his allies targeted Disney's special tax district. In doing so, the judge had "used the State's contemplated dissolution of Disney's special district as an example of retaliatory conduct," DeSantis' lawyers argued. "The Court's comments seemingly reflect its opinion on whether the State punished Disney's speech by revoking Disney's 'special status,'" they wrote.

Food and Drug Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf praised results Eli Lilly announced Wednesday that a clinical trial showed its Alzheimer's treatment donanemab slowed progression of the disease. "We have to look at the data when it comes in before making a judgment, but if the data look as good as the press release — this is really, really exciting," the commissioner said. The antibody treatment also carries risks of brain swelling and bleeding that can be severe and even fatal in rare circumstances. Full-time civil servants who are prohibited from having financial conflicts of interest make those decisions, the commissioner said.

Millions of people have viewed a BBC News interview with a British cardiologist who used the broadcast to spread misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. Malhotra cites the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for reporting 30,000 excess cardiovascular deaths “during the pandemic or since the pandemic”. A BHF spokesperson told Reuters that there were indeed 30,000 excess deaths involving ischaemic heart disease (IHD) in England between March 2020 and August 2022. Reuters has addressed similar claims linking COVID-19 vaccines with excess mortality (here, here and here), cardiac arrests (here, here and here), and other heart issues. Experts say the 30,000 excess cardiovascular deaths reported since the beginning of the pandemic are due to COVID-19 infection and issues with healthcare services.

What'll be interesting is if he teases even more cuts coming down the line as the bank looks to cut costs. Chris Sununu makes one thing clear: His vision for the future of the Republican Party does not include former President Donald Trump. Ron DeSantis as a stronger potential candidate than Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. As to whether DeSantis could actually beat Trump, Sununu was ambiguous: “Maybe. According to a new CNN poll, DeSantis’ favorability among Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters overall outpaces Trump: 74% view DeSantis favorably while 63% have a favorable view of Trump. Trump’s first-out-of-the-gate strategy hasn’t quieted chatter around other potential Republican presidential candidates, including Sununu himself.

Nelson's opinion was shared by six other Republican voters in Arizona, Georgia and Michigan who Reuters interviewed on Tuesday, most of whom brought up their distaste for Trump unprompted. About 60% of Republicans surveyed by Reuters/Ipsos last month said they thought Trump should run again in 2024, with 36% saying he should not. "I think (Trump) would just keep the pot stirring.
