CNN —Although the so-called “girl dinner” is being popularized by young women promoting throw-together meals on TikTok, it’s in fact an inclusive meal. I’m a middle-aged girl, and this is the style of meal I’ve been calling “snack dinner” for years. The original “girl dinner” TikTok video, posted by Olivia Maher, featured a countertop spread of grapes, cornichons, bread and cheese. There are really no rules for preparing the perfect "girl dinner" — start with your favorite snack elements and expand from there. Your solo snack plate dinner doesn’t have to include bread, cheese or charcuterie if that’s not your personal preference.

Start with a few key itemsAs with an indoor kitchen, you’ll need a few crucial tools to make your outdoor cooking expeditions a success. Metal cutlery are staples of outdoor cooking. Simple to prepare in advance, foil packets are among the easiest meals for a campfire cooking newbie to whip up. For skillet cooking, you can experiment with some of your usual one-pan meals transferred to the outdoors. One note: High-sided stainless steel firepits, such as Solo Stoves, aren’t the best option for cooking in coals.

He still gets nervous before big scenes — but it’s helpful, he said; it means there’s something to risk. “I had my feelings hurt a lot.”In “The Bear,” Matty Matheson, the Canadian chef and restaurateur, plays the hanger-on and handyman Neil, his first scripted role. “I’m a student of the acting school of Ebon,” he said. “I’m like this soft blade, trying to constantly be nice,” said Matheson, who is also a producer and consultant on the series. For him, “The Bear” was a character study in loss and change.

CNN —Most people’s idea of fun wouldn’t involve running for hours on end through brutal, undulating terrain – but ultra-marathon sensation Courtney Dauwalter is no ordinary person. Dauwalter, a four-time ‘Ultra Running Magazine Ultrarunner of the year,’ holds multiple course records for the obscenely long races around the US and abroad. Pizza and pints"There is no right or wrong path to completing a 100 or 200-mile race," says Dauwalter. Joe Amon/Denver Post/Denver PostTrue to character, Dauwalter has a positive and novel method of coping with the unexpected visions. “For me, training, racing and exploring what’s possible with these ultra-races, the really long trail ones, is fun,” Dauwalter says.
Gus forced himself to take a bite, but the flavor was rancid, a sickly sweet imitation of cheese. Aidan Marchine, however, is an unusual author — at least for now — because Aidan Marchine is a set of computer systems. The journalist and author Stephen Marche wrote “Death of an Author” using three artificial intelligence programs. Or three artificial intelligence programs wrote it with extensive plotting and prompting from Stephen Marche. “I am the creator of this work, 100 percent,” Marche said, “but, on the other hand, I didn’t create the words.”

While my kids aren’t the pickiest eaters I’ve ever encountered, they both have long, evolving lists of likes and dislikes. In that spirit, I asked readers of our Five Weeknight Dishes newsletter to tell us about the New York Times Cooking recipes their kids request on repeat, the meals that make them do a little happy dance when they hear they’re on the menu. What’s beloved one day might be detested the next, and one kid’s favorite dish could make another gag. Super NachosIf you live in Pittsburgh, watching football is pretty much mandatory. Settled in the city after emigrating from India, chef Preeti Mistry’s family embraced the ritual with game-day spreads. "To me this is what America is all about," Ms. Mistry said.
At many movie theaters, popcorn and soda appear alongside flatbreads, lobster grilled cheese and elaborate cocktails. "It is things like concessions and how that fits into a broader movie theater experience that really are things that movie theaters need to focus on and hammer in," Gallinari said. AMC Entertainment , the world's largest movie theater chain, exited its third quarter with more than $5.3 billion in debt. According to data from research firm EntTelligence, the average medium popcorn at domestic movie theaters is $8.14, while a medium drink runs for $6.20. "With movie theaters and concessions already having a reputation for being overpriced, being subject to the wills of the market in that way can really work against the movie theater's favor," Gallinari said.
IF YOU LIVE in Pittsburgh, watching football is pretty much mandatory. “It was a big deal,” said Ms. Mistry, a chef now based in Sonoma, Calif. “To me this is what America is all about.”A dish that stood out: Super Nachos. Each tortilla chip was layered, individually and exactingly, with refried beans, melted cheese and other fixings. “She would sing this cute song in her Indian accent as she would bring the platter out: ‘Super Nachos, Super Nachos, coming, coming,’ ” Ms. Mistry recalled. Now that I’m all grown up, I prefer to add a bit of desi flavor to her original recipe.”
But now restaurants and TikTok are elevating food mashups to a level dubbed chaos cooking. Ambitious culinary concoctions range from Big Mac pizzas to curry-fajitas sold at TGI Fridays. Indie restaurants and chains are unleashing ambitious and improbable culinary concoctions, from Big Mac pizzas at a Washington DC restaurant to curry fajitas at TGI Fridays. On Instagram and TikTok, chaos cooking is showing up in different forms: a pizza slathered with refried beans, zucchini fettuccine, and a vegan peppermint pattie cake. The article asked: Is chaos cooking a pathway to inner peace?
So on a Saturday night in February he stood in his Aunt Brandy’s doorway, rocking on his heels, telling her he was heading out. Sincere lived with his aunt in a second-floor apartment on the city’s South Side, in a neighborhood of small single-family homes and brick two-flats. “I didn’t do anything to anybody.”Every day, Sincere went on odysseys, roaming the surrounding blocks. He rang bells and knocked on doors, asking to do odd jobs. But he and Anyah grew up together on the same block, and Sincere sometimes spent the night there.
In the dark, Ukrainian restaurants serve customers by candlelight with special 'blackout menus'. Kyiv-based restaurant manager Dmytro Tkachenko told Insider: "We can adapt to anything." He's visited several restaurants during blackouts, and told Insider that the atmosphere is "completely unique." A post shared by Under Wonder (@underwonder.kyiv)Manager Dmytro Tkachenko told Insider it has designed a reduced — but still "exquisite" — array of dishes that can be prepared without electricity. He told Insider: "What you see develop in Ukraine under these harsh circumstances will be the new normal everywhere."
While I’m not storing state secrets near my washer-dryer, the fact that more than 1.4 million reports of identity theft were received by the Federal Trade Commission last year, as The Wall Street Journal newsroom has reported, makes me more than a little concerned. Which is why I was intrigued to learn that friend-of-a-friend pro organizer Lisa Zaslow is a big fan of the tiny Miseyo Wide Roller Stamp Identity Theft Stamp. Her teen hands easily gripped the stamp, which reminded me of all those summer evenings labeling her shorts and swimsuits before camp. I enjoyed it so much, I watched the Miseyo Identity Theft Protection Roller Stamp video, which says it unfurls about 100 meters of ink, and refills are cheap (three for $10.99). Now my only concern is not misplacing this tiny security tool; I have long since lost track of that summer-camp stamp bearing my last name.
