CNN —The sight of Tiger Woods wearing a red top and black trousers as he strode down the 18th fairway with throngs of adoring spectators following close behind is the stuff of sporting folklore. The color combination was Woods’ go-to outfit for the fourth and final day of a tournament, which regularly ended with him adding another trophy to his ever-expanding collection. “My mom thought, being a Capricorn, that [red] was my power color, or some BS thing like that, so I end up wearing red and end up winning some golf tournaments,” the 15-time major winner told Fallon. “It’s about athletes being first and designing something for the athlete so that we can perform at a higher level,” Woods said. We are out of balance because we don't see beyond the binaries, we don't see how no matter the gender, feminine and masculine exist within each of us. He taught me masculine thingsOn a camping trip when I was 4 years old, Dad sat with his friend while I played with his friend's 3-year-old son. "Stand up for yourself," Dad urged with his eyes, and when I didn't, the boy hit me again and again. When I looked at Dad the third time, he said, "Hit him on the damn nose!" Dad was deliberate in fostering the masculine in his daughters, and he wasn't the only source of that messaging.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission on Monday sued to block the $8.5 billion acquisition of Capri Holdings by Coach and Kate Spade's parent company, Tapestry . With the transaction, the luxury brands could be poised to better compete with European luxury names, such as Burberry and LVMH's Louis Vuitton. Both Tapestry and Capri have been under pressure, as consumers continue to be choosier with discretionary spending. Yet Capri, in particular, has been more vulnerable because of its heavier reliance than Tapestry on department stores and other wholesale retailers. The vast majority of Tapestry's sales are through its own website and stores, with wholesale accounting for only about 10% of sales globally in the most recently reported fiscal quarter.

The US Federal Trade Commission said on Monday it was suing to block Coach parent Tapestry’s $8.5 billion deal to buy Michael Kors owner Capri, saying it would eliminate competition. This comes at a time when several US lawmakers have sought increased scrutiny from the FTC of several multi-billion dollar deals that might risk higher prices and affect consumers. US antitrust enforcers had also come out with new merger guidelines in December, in a bid to encourage fair, open and competitive markets. But the FTC requested more information from the firms on their deal in November. “Capri Holdings strongly disagrees with the FTC’s decision,” the company said in a statement.

Washington CNN —On Tuesday, late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel delivered another monologue making fun of former President Donald Trump. On Wednesday morning, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee fired back on social media — in part by attacking Kimmel for something Kimmel didn’t do. Kimmel wasn’t the person who delivered an unusual, abrupt performance in announcing the Best Picture award won by “Oppenheimer”; that was actually legendary actor Al Pacino, whom Kimmel had introduced. “In fairness to our former President, many stable geniuses confuse me with Al Pacino….,” Kimmel wrote Wednesday afternoon on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
