Prosecutors say Allen actually confessed over 60 times to the murders while in prison, to his wife, his mother, family members, the prison warden, the psychologist who treated him in prison, other prison employees and other inmates. The jury on Thursday heard recordings of seven prison phone calls Allen made to his wife and mother, according to WTHR. Monica Wala, the prison psychologist who treated Allen at Westville Correctional Facility, testified for the prosecution that he confessed to the crimes multiple times, once in great detail, according to WTHR. He also spoke about wanting to go back and change his actions and apologize to the families, Wala testified. He had a serious mental health history and had experienced both major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder, Wala testified during cross-examination.

A security guard has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder charge in the death of a 32-year-old man he is accused of shooting at a hookah lounge early Sunday, police in Texas said. Teddy Lee Mills is accused of shooting Day’shaun Colen shortly after 2 a.m. at the Bravo Hookah Lounge in Abilene, where Mills was working a private security detail and Colen was a would-be patron, police said. Mills, who had a firearm, and another unarmed security guard were at the door, according to the complaint. Mills also told officers that Colen said he was “gonna get him” and that when the crowd was pushing in, he felt “them” grab his Taser. The Bravo Hookah Lounge in Abilene, Texas.

CNN —Michigan Wolverines quarterback Jack Tuttle announced his retirement from football Monday, citing concussions and other health concerns – the second college quarterback to make that decision in less than a week. Tuttle, a sixth-year senior who played for four years with the Indiana Hoosiers before transferring to Michigan ahead of the Wolverines’ 2023 national championship season, explained his decision in a post on X. Football has long had a problem with concussions and some players have pledged to donate their brains to science upon their death so the effects of repeated concussions can be studied. Tuttle, one of three starting quarterbacks that Michigan has used this year, having come in and played significant time against the University of Washington in a loss earlier this month. CNN —Dwyane Wade’s status as a Miami Heat legend was further cemented on Sunday as the franchise unveiled an eight-foot statue of the three-time NBA champion. The 42-year-old played 16 seasons in the NBA and was selected as an All-Star 13 times before retiring in 2019. One comment on an Instagram video of the unveiling said that the statue better resembled Laurence Fishburne as ’Morpheus’ from the movie ‘The Matrix’ than Wade.
