"Eldest-daughter syndrome" is not an official diagnosis, but it can describe how first daughters feel. As the oldest of her six siblings, she said she related to eldest-daughter syndrome. The term "eldest-daughter syndrome" describes common feelings of pressure and perfectionism that oldest daughters deal with as adults. Advertisement"I 100% relate to almost everything," she said of the traits associated with eldest-daughter syndrome. AdvertisementOn the surface, it can seem like a great thing: eldest-daughter syndrome is often associated with "type-A" personalities and fantastic organizational skills.

To some, a purse with its tags still on in an aisle where it may not belong looks like a piece of discarded inventory. Videos of TikTok users joking about going into baby aisles to search for and take money from baby products have racked up millions of views since the trend took off. Cecily Bauchmann, a TikTok creator with 2.2 million followers, was the first to take action after seeing Gonazalez's video. The video brought her to tears because it reminded her of times when she experienced financial strain while providing for her family. “I hope that in this [trend] parents, caretakers, moms, dads would feel in a moment that there is a financial burden lifted off of their shoulders,” Bauchmann said.

I work a full-time 9-to-5 job as a project manager and also run an e-commerce business on the side. Related storiesBalancing a full-time job, an e-commerce business, and family life is challengingI feel accomplished because I'm able to support my family through multiple income streams, which add up to over six figures. When the company where I work full-time went through a round of layoffs last year, I was extremely anxious about potentially losing our main source of income. This stress led to me being distracted during family time and occasionally snapping at my husband over minor issues. Last holiday season, I was swamped with a major project deadline at my full-time job at the same time I had a spike in online sales.

Across the state, Native American children are overrepresented in the foster care system, while there is a shortage of Native American foster parents. “If it’s a mom that can’t provide diapers or if there’s a young person that has a need for shoes, then we want to try to help support that need,” Manuel said. Today, she helps fill in gaps and provide resources for all Native American children. Ultimately, she says her work is about building safe, positive, and culturally sensitive homes for all Native American children, no matter who is caring for them. I want kids to come and feel like their sense of identity and culture is right there,” Manuel said.

But even when her income rose, she still felt broke until she changed the way she managed money. At that time, she was working as a hairstylist in Minneapolis, making little more than minimum wage and struggling to pay her bills. One of the first things that a lot of business owners don't realize is how important it can be to have a set salary. Their overall goal was to have enough of an emergency fund that could cover both their living expenses and their business expenses for a year. But once all the amounts owed became clear, they were able to set goals to pay off each debt.

As they got older, I would give them a packing list and we'd pack things together. Our hotels were booked, but we had to figure out activities, meals, and transportation. As the years passed and my children grew older, conversations with friends who also have kids thankfully moved on to more stimulating topics. I was reminded of this recently when I caught up with three close friends who are footloose and child-free. Chatting to my friends without kids was like having a glimpse into the person I used to be. I instantly regretted my decision because I knew my son needed me. The chances of my husband getting a job that would pay enough to cover the cost of childcare were very low. My children needed their mother, and I needed my children. When I was focused on work and they needed my attention, I would redirect them to ask their dad instead. I realize now that all those years, I was bringing my stress and fear from work into my family life.

The Summary Many young climate advocates see Kamala Harris as stronger on environmental issues than Joe Biden. President Joe Biden may have passed the United States’ most significant climate legislation ever, but many young environmental activists say they see Kamala Harris as stronger on the issue. But several young climate activists ages 16 to 29 said for them, the expansion of the fossil fuel industry during Biden’s presidency has clouded those successes. Harris’ young supporters have highlighted the settlements she secured as California attorney general with Chevron, BP and ConocoPhillips over their handling of hazardous materials. Sunrise Movement protesters gather near Vice President Harris' Brentwood home on April 14, calling on her to urge President Biden to declare a climate emergency.

Procter & Gamble on Tuesday reported mixed quarterly results, but the company's volume increased for the first time in more than two years. Volume excludes pricing, making the metric a more accurate reflection of demand than sales. Over the last several years, P&G's price hikes across its portfolio, from diapers to detergent, fueled its sales growth, but volume flattened or even declined as consumers bought less of its products. All three of those segments reported 2% volume growth for the quarter. For fiscal 2025, P&G anticipates core net earnings per share in a range of $6.91 to $7.05.

Despite that, P & G had a spotty quarter, which could give fuel to investors worried that a deterioration in the consumer would make its guidance harder to achieve. Nevertheless, P & G still fills an important role in a diversified portfolio, and its business is on solid footing. That includes North America, where organic sales grew 4%, and Europe, where organic sales increased 2% despite a difficult 12% comparison in the year-ago period. That helps explain how you get organic sales in China down 9%, albeit a slight sequential improvement from the 10% drop in the third quarter. It saw a mid-single digit decrease in organic sales because of market-share losses for its Luvs diapers.

CNN —Far-right lawmakers and protesters breached the perimeter of a controversial Israeli detention facility for Palestinians on Monday, after the Israeli military confirmed it was investigating soldiers over the alleged abuse of a prisoner. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for immediate calm at Sde Teiman and condemned the break-in at the base in a statement on Monday. Last month, Halevi said the military had launched a probe into allegations of mistreatment at Sde Teiman, as well as at Anatot and Ofer. As part of CNN’s investigation into Sde Teiman, three Israeli whistleblowers said that Palestinian detainees at the base were constantly blindfolded and held under extreme physical restraint. The account tallied with details of a letter authored by a doctor working at Sde Teiman published by Ha’aretz in April.

The reality of the American air travel system is that powerful forces keep passengers flying the same carriers, even after service meltdowns like Delta just suffered. For passengers who live near one of the hubs where Delta controls most of the flights, such as Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis or Salt Lake City, choices are even more limited. But by Monday, the problems were mostly limited to Delta as other businesses were back to normal, adding to the frustration of its passengers. Delta canceled more than 4,400 flights from July 19 to 21, according to tracking service FlightAware. Past experience, plus the dominance of Delta in Atlanta and Don Hooper’s frequent flyer miles, would keep them using the airline.

When spending these long periods on spacewalks, astronauts currently wear the familiar white puffy EVA suits, which contain a maximum absorbency garment. Above is a side view of the whole system, worn as a backpack. ‘Dune’ systemTo “promote astronaut wellbeing,” the researchers have designed a novel in-suit urine collection and filtration system, or “Dune” system,” Etlin said.
