But Mr. Trump’s legal team has informed the Justice Department that it was unable to find any such records in his possession, the people said. It is unclear whether prosecutors have been able to track down the document themselves, leaving open the possibility that the material remains at large or that the famously blustery Mr. Trump incorrectly described it on the recording. As part of their investigation, prosecutors have been asking witnesses whether Mr. Trump showed people a map he took with him when he left office that contains sensitive intelligence information. The subpoena, which was reported earlier by CNN, mentioned General Milley because Mr. Trump brought up the classified document at a meeting as a way to be rebut what he perceived as criticism from Mr. Milley about military decisions concerning Iran. The meeting, which took place in July 2021 at Mr. Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J., was between Mr. Trump and two people helping with a book being written by the final Trump White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows.

On a blustery April morning in Long Branch, N.J, Lynn Mesler pointed to a Salt Life store that had opened six days before on Ocean Avenue North, across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. Ms. Mesler, 59, who was visiting Long Branch from Manahawkin, N.J., said she had recently bought a bunch of Salt Life stuff online for her boyfriend to wear on a vacation to the Dominican Republic. “I wanted him to look colorful and be comfortable,” Ms. Mesler said, adding that she became aware of Salt Life because she had seen the logo frequently. That logo, which features Salt Life written in a brash, pointy font, was inspired by a neck tattoo. Soon after Salt Life was founded in Jacksonville, Fla., in 2003, its logo started to appear on bumper stickers and T-shirts.
It was a cold, blustery morning in November 2019 when the city of Dresden, in eastern Germany, woke up to a shock. Overnight, robbers had stolen a hundred-million dollar royal jewelry collection from the city’s historic Green Vault, a set of basement suites in a castle that is now part of a museum. The robbers left the vault floor covered with shards of broken glass and blanketed it with powder to throw forensic investigators off their scent. On Tuesday, in a high-security Dresden courtroom, five men — all from the same notorious Berlin crime family — were convicted and sentenced for their role in the heist and the getaway. The sixth defendant was acquitted because he had an alibi.

April 11 (Reuters) - U.S. officials on Tuesday gave final approval for a company owned by billionaire Philip Anschutz to begin building a massive transmission line that will deliver wind energy from blustery Wyoming to power-hungry California. The "notice to proceed" from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management allows TransWest Express LLC to break ground on its $3 billion line after more than 15 years of development. A separate Anschutz firm owns the 600-turbine Chokecherry and Sierra Madre wind farm in Wyoming, which is being built, that will send power through TransWest Express. TransWest Express construction will start later this year and the first stage will be completed in 2027, the company said. The line will run from south central Wyoming, through Colorado, Utah and Nevada to a substation outside of Las Vegas.
[1/4] AJ Dereume holds Punxsutawney Phil during the Groundhog Day Festivities, at Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, U.S., February 2, 2023. According to folklore, if the rodent sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, then frigid and blustery weather will persist for six weeks. The first official celebration of Groundhog Day was in 1886, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club. The annual event, famously featured in the classic 1993 film "Groundhog Day" starring Bill Murray, draws visitors from around the world. As Punxsutawney Phil made his prediction, some 450,000 homes and businesses in Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee were without power after several rounds of sleet and freezing rain downed power lines and trees.
It's only day five of the month, but there have already been more tech layoffs than there were in all of January 2022. I'm your host Diamond Naga Siu, and I'm here to walk you through the latest tech job cuts. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff announced yesterday that it's shuttering multiple offices and entering its second round of layoffs within months. These are issues unique to Salesforce, but other tech companies have also been fumbling for a while. And the cloud company's layoffs signal that the tech industry is going to continue downhill this year, as customers cut spending.
The deadly winter storm that has killed at least 28 people and caused travel chaos across the U.S. will create a “potentially life-threatening hazard,” for those on the move or working outside on Christmas Day, forecasters warned Sunday. “In some areas, being outdoors could lead to frostbite in minutes,” the National Weather Service said in a bulletin. Last month, areas just south of the city saw a record six feet of snow from a single storm. Power was being restored but by early Christmas Day morning, over 250,000 homes remained without electricity, including almost 100,000 across Maine, according to the Poweroutage.us website. “Lake-effect snows with local blizzard conditions may linger into Christmas Day,” it added.
WASHINGTON, Dec 25 (Reuters) - Busloads of migrants were dropped over Christmas weekend near Vice President Kamala Harris' residence in Washington amid freezing temperatures, having traveled from the southwest border in Texas, immigrant aid groups said on Sunday. Aides to Texas Governor Greg Abbott were not available to comment on whether the state coordinated their transportation. Wellington, the pint-size capital of New Zealand, easily invites comparisons. You might think of San Francisco when you see its vertiginous streets and colorful clapboard homes; the city’s obsession with coffee, craft beer and sustainable living has obvious parallels with Seattle; and its blustery weather (it is the world’s windiest city) makes it deserving of Chicago’s nickname. As locals often remind one another, you can’t beat Wellington on a good day, when the water sparkles, the sky is impossibly blue and the coasts, forests and hills are at their most enjoyable. Go between December and March to maximize your chances of a beautiful day in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, the city’s name in the Indigenous Maori language (New Zealand is known as Aotearoa).

European natural gas imports by main sourceImporters have managed to replenish natural gas stockpiles to try to prepare for greater heating demand later this year, but power producers will be relieved by the curtailed demand for warmth so far. Weather forecasts deteriorate in accuracy farther out, but historically it is clear that the winter months tend to generate more wind power than other seasons. So power producers will also be hoping for blustery conditions to kick in, especially in wind-heavy economies like Germany, which in 2021 got roughly 20% of its electricity from wind power, according to data from BP. For European citizens, wet and windy weather may not sound like the ideal conditions for a comfortable winter.
