Review: Is the Chase Aeroplan card the best credit card for you? It's not often an airline credit card makes waves with a strong welcome bonus and completely unique benefits, but the Aeroplan® Credit Card has managed to do just that. Over 4,000 flights were delayed and more than 600 canceled because of the outage as of early Wednesday morning. The FAA system that is meant to distribute notices to pilots on hazards failed at about 2 a.m. Eastern Time, officials said. I flew British Airways from London Heathrow to Basel, Switzerland a few days before Christmas. Staff at the airport asked me to check my cabin bag because the flight was "full". I know now how that Air Canada passenger must have felt after flying British Airways from Heathrow to Basel, Switzerland on December 20. Having previously reported on passengers' woes, I was wary when asked to check in my carry-on bag as well. A spokesperson for British Airways told Insider: "We always do everything we can to reunite our customers with their delayed baggage as soon as possible.
A blast of Arctic air will also plunge much of the country into bitter and, in some cases, dangerous cold, forecasters say. In some parts of this area, the wind chill could reach as low as minus 70 degrees, according to the Weather Service. Brief bursts of moderate to heavy snow lasting an hour or two are likely to occur immediately behind the Arctic front. Strong southerly winds, combined with the new moon-tide cycle, could also bring coastal flooding from northern New Jersey to northeast Massachusetts, the Weather Service said. Meteorologists warned local residents that this is not a normal lake effect event with a narrow band of heavy snow.

In all, 36 people received medical treatment following Sunday's turbulent Hawaiian Airlines flight for bumps, bruises, cuts and nausea, said Jim Ireland, director of Honolulu Emergency Medical Services. Passenger Kaylee Reyes told Hawaii News Now that her mother had just sat down when the turbulence hit and had not had a chance to buckle her safety belt. There was some internal damage to the aircraft during the turbulence, Snook said. In 2019, 37 passengers and flight crew members were injured when an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Sydney hit intense turbulence about two hours past Hawaii. Over the Atlantic, a 2017 American Airlines flight from Athens hit severe turbulence along the New York coastline.
Frontier Airlines has scrapped its telephone customer service line. Frontier said this month that a chat service "reduced negotiation" and dealt with more cases. An airline spokesperson told CNBC it had cut its telephone service to help customers get "the information they need as expeditiously and efficiently as possible." "We are supporting higher labor rates in the voice channel, and we're limited to this one-to-one interaction," he said, adding that a chat agent could handle three queries at once. Frontier's move follows a summer of travel chaos which laid bare the lack of customer service offered by many airlines.
Air Canada revoked an employee's flying privileges after her daughter complained about a flight. "I had a really like sickening feeling when my mother told me what they did to her," the woman said. Standby tickets allow airline employees to fly anywhere for a fraction of the normal cost and are one attraction of working for a long-established carrier such as Air Canada. The woman told Insider that standby privileges were the main reason her mother, who is close to retirement, took the job. In a statement to Insider, Air Canada said: "We deal with our employees directly on internal matters.
