[1/5] Terry Hutt, aged 87, a life long royals fan sits surrounded by royals memorabilia he has collected since he was a child, at his home in Weston-super-Mare, Britain, April 25, 2023. REUTERS/Molly DarlingtonLONDON, May 2 (Reuters) - Margaret Tyler's fascination with the British royal family began as a child, when she would cut out photos of the now-King Charles III and his sister, Princess Anne. The 79-year-old, just four years older than the British monarch, is among the royal super fans who cannot contain her excitement for his coronation this Saturday. I sort of followed them, Princess Anne as a toddler, really, Prince Charles a bit older. Tyler's obsession has filled her home in northwest London, with rooms named after members of the royal family and little space to move among piles of royal memorabilia including flags, photos and china.

Read Your Way Around the World is a series exploring the globe through books. If you arrive in Kerala from elsewhere in India, you’ll feel as though you’ve landed in a different country — “God’s own country,” as Keralites like to say. Not surprisingly, the Gulf has shaped Kerala’s culture and literature. The territory sits between the Indian Ocean and the Western Ghats, the mountain range that runs parallel to the coast. I think it’s responsible for the fluid facial movements that allow Malayalis to convey volumes without uttering a word.

People used to talk wistfully about how movie tickets were $3 in the 1980s, or how a Big Mac cost a couple of bucks in the 1990s. Now they are nostalgic for the prices of just a few years ago. Russell Max Simon watched inflation play out in the cost of the avocados he likes to put on top of his breakfast. A 41-year-old marketing consultant in Rumney, N.H., Mr. Simon was dismayed to see their price climb from $1 each in early 2021 to $2.50 one year later.

Today, we're talking about what the downfall of Twitter could look like — and it's probably not what you think. Reporting from my colleagues Matt Weinberger and Kali Hays suggests the site probably won't crash and burn in spectacular fashion. The death of Twitter won't be the dramatic explosion you might expect. A leaked email shows Twitter employees must send Elon Musk weekly updates of everything they've worked on. In other Musk news, the billionaire told Twitter employees that he's done with layoffs for now, and he tweeted Monday that the Twitter Blue relaunch is on hold.
Elon Musk shared a meme to Twitter on Monday that included a photo of a Nazi soldier. "How times have changed," the billionaire wrote above the edited photo which showed notification bubbles near a box of messenger pigeonsThe picture was taken of a German soldier in May 1940 in France, according to Getty Images. "How times have changed," the billionaire wrote in his tweet. "Back when birds were real," Musk later wrote in a follow-up tweet, before adding additional commentary with a head-exploding emoji. The photo that Musk shared was of a German soldier and his pigeons captured in May 1940 in France, according to Getty Images.
I no longer miss the “old” Kanye West, now known as Ye. I’m tired of hearing about the new Ye, and I wish we could stop talking about him altogether. Days before that, he appeared with far-right pundit Candace Owens flaunting “White Lives Matter” T-shirts during Paris Fashion Week. This includes to stopping asking for the “old Kanye” back. Chop up the soul Kanye, set on his goals Kanye.” At first, I sang the lyrics with hope that the “old Kanye” who once had such a hopeful swagger would return, that he would get past his ego and be born again as the creative powerhouse whose every move we followed with anticipation instead of dread.
Household furnishings and supplies were up 10.6% this summer compared with last, according to the consumer price index. Yet there are ways to creatively use your budget, said Athena Calderone, author of the design book "Live Beautiful." "While it can feel really stressful to decorate on a small budget, the good news is that constraints are far from confining," Calderone told me. If the goal is longevity, Owens also recommends buying your core furniture pieces in durable materials and neutral colors.
