Now Manhattan’s Rubin Museum of Art, which features art from the Himalayas, has announced that it will close later this year. But looted artifacts alone — removed from their original context, quarantined in an antiseptic display case — cannot do this. Unlike, say, Impressionist paintings or Pop Art sculptures, ritual objects were not meant to be seen in a gallery at a time of the viewer’s choosing. Used alongside music, scents and tastes, these holy relics are tools to help participants in rituals achieve a transcendent experience.

The collapse of the outlet, founded by media entrepreneur Jimmy Finkelstein, came as it tried to survive severe financial woes and broader industry headwinds. Staffers at the outlet learned of its shuttering from The New York Times, which broke the news on its demise Wednesday afternoon, a person familiar with the matter told CNN. “The economic headwinds have left many media companies fighting for survival,” he said. “Unfortunately, as a new company, we encountered even more significant challenges than others and could not survive those headwinds.”

The move is part of “matching F-150 Lightning production to customer demand,” the company said Friday. Ford still projects an increase in Lightning sales this year after a 55% jump to 24,000 trucks last year. Instead they wanted to make an all-wheel-drive Corvette, and the best way to do that was simply to attach a powerful electric motor to the front wheels. Unlike in a Toyota Prius, or almost any other hybrid, the E-Ray’s electric motor almost never drives the car on its own. For that, GM offers the lighter and more powerful Corvette Z06, with its high-revving 670-horsepower V8 and no electric motor. Instead, GM has focused on fully electric technology and, before too long, there will be a fully electric Corvette.

The closures come as retail pharmacy chains in the US face increasing difficulties with their prescriptions business, workforces and more. Prior to the closing of any impacted location, prescriptions will be transferred to a nearby CVS Pharmacy, said Thibault. CVS purchased Target’s pharmacy business from the big box retailer in 2015 for $1.9 billion. CVS has about 9,000 pharmacy locations overall.
