On TikTok, floor time involves sitting or lying on the floor to soothe yourself. We asked experts what they think about floor time and how it can help if you're anxious or overwhelmed. Lying on the floor can help you block out external stimuli, allowing your body time to reset, Wood said. As you're lying on the ground, "make sure your knees are at a 90-degree bend to support your lower half," she said. Alternatives to this practiceWhether you call it floor time or a corpse pose, lying on the floor may not be an option.

CNN —President Joe Biden’s power to engineer a swift abatement of the war between Israel and Hamas just suffered two serious new blows. • The rescue mission also emphasizes the disparity in the death toll between Palestinians and Israelis in the conflict. • The absence of Gantz may also create an even greater obstacle to approval of any peace deal between Israel and Hamas. • The fracturing of the Israeli war cabinet and Gantz’s call for elections could have unpredictable consequences in Israel amid rising protests against Netanyahu. That is tragic.”But the national security adviser’s comments will do nothing to ease Biden’s domestic political exposure over the war.

Tucked away in the cartouche, an oval-shaped ornament often found in tombs, he found a name of a very recognizable figure: Ramesses II. “The cartouche dates back to its first usage, and contains Ramesses II’s throne name, Usermaatra. Psusennes I reused this sarcophagus that once belonged to Merneptah, the son and successor of Ramesses II. Both sarcophagi would have been inside an even larger stone sarcophagus, the source of the granite fragment Payraudeau discovered. “This also tells us when pharaohs began using more than one stone sarcophagus,” Payraudeau added.

Members of European Parliament attend a plenary session in Brussels on April 10. John Thys/AFP/Getty ImagesThe European Parliament is the legislative branch of the European Union and one of the bloc’s three main institutions, along with the European Commission, which is the executive branch, and the European Council, which is made up of ministers from the governments of the 27 member states. In order for any legislation to be implemented, both the council and parliament have to agree. It often has the final word on major policy issues such as the budget, trade and sanctions on foreign nationals. For example, A comprehensive mutual investment agreement between the EU and China is effectively on hold while some MEPs are under sanctions from China.

New York CNN —Tesla’s controversial CEO Elon Musk, and his massive wealth, are front and center in a shareholder vote this coming week. Now, Musk and the board want Tesla shareholders not only to vote again to give him back those stock options, but to relocate Tesla away from the judge’s state entirely. Despite the widespread support among shareholders back in 2018 for Musk’s pay package, the Tesla board seems to be scrambling to shore-up support for this month’s vote. But perhaps a more serious concern among Tesla shareholders is problems faced by the electric car pioneer itself. “When Tesla achieved targeted earnings, revenues, and market cap metrics, Tesla’s shareholders benefitted greatly.

The ultimate goal, sources said, is to iron out some of the thorniest financing details in the coming days so that an agreement can be announced as part of the G7 leaders’ communiqué this week. US officials argue that the dire situation for Ukraine makes the approval of such a loan deeply urgent. We believe it’s a priority for the entire G7,” Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters last week. Biden met with Zelensky as his administration announced a $225 million security assistance package for Ukraine. The delay, US officials have said in recent months, undoubtedly resulted in Ukraine losing valuable ground on the battlefield.

However, that premium is hard to quantify since some uber-wealthy buyers will pay almost anything to own a piece of pop culture, according to real estate experts. First of all, their main job was to get false information to Adolf Hitler — rather than to steal Nazi secrets. And, secondly, some of these spies didn’t actually exist — they were completely made-up creations of British intelligence. But World War II would see a dramatic expansion of the offensive use of counterspies — not simply to prevent the enemy from knowing things but to actively deceive the enemy by planting disinformation. I also met the man who came up with the D-Day deception, Roger Fleetwood Hesketh, who was a trained architect. He told me that for the D-Day deception, codenamed Fortitude South, he had drawn on different talents.

The S & P 500 made a new record high, its 25 th of the year. And on the surface, there is a stolid calm that suggests a system in comfortable equilibrium, the market achieving a kind of homeostasis. Four of the past five days last week, the S & P 500 moved less than 0.2%. The S & P 500 is up almost 2% since its closing peak at the end of the first quarter, perhaps the moment of maximum belief in a seamless soft economic landing. Three stocks together now account for fully 20% of the S & P 500 market value, mocking the notion of diversification and dashing most active investors' hopes of beating the bogey.

No one knows more about losing weight than a fat person. Then, I lost over 200 pounds and realized that we need more compassion and nuance when it comes to talking about weight. I was super strict, and over the next 14 months I lost 200 pounds. I can love my (still fat) body while also making it as healthy as possible, which might involve losing weight. When I weighed 420 pounds, the idea of climbing Mount Everest would have seemed more reasonable than losing 200 pounds.

CNN —The US military’s temporary pier off the coast of Gaza was repaired and reattached to the beach on Friday morning, after breaking apart and sustaining damage in heavy seas last week, the deputy commander of US Central Command said on Friday. “I’m very pleased to announce that earlier this morning, in Gaza, US forces successfully attached the temporary pier to the Gaza beach. Israeli Defense Force engineers provided all the necessary support to ensure the safe emplacement of the pier to the beach,” Vice Adm. Brad Cooper told reporters on Friday. The damage last week came after significant obstacles on distribution routes including Hamas drones and looting that delayed the deliveries. The pier’s construction came as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates and the death toll from Israel’s bombardment climbs.

"What we're now going to do is put plan designs in and underwrite the group. Moving into the employer market is part of Oscar's strategy to expand its membership from 1.5 million to roughly 4 million by 2027.

The book focuses on three themes, all of which can help you better understand the people around you, Brooks writes: curiosity, empathy and self-awareness. That's because they're better at taking interest in other people and giving them the floor to share their stories and perspectives authentically, Brooks writes. "Diminishers are not curious about you, they don't ask you questions," Brooks said during a discussion at Colgate University in February. But diminishers often ask questions that aren't open-ended, or use your response as a way to talk about themselves. Then, try to provide some insight, Brooks writes — rounding out the conversation by letting them know you're here for them.
