But officials say he recently tried to change the addresses for major assets from NY to Florida. AdvertisementDonald Trump tried — but failed — to switch the addresses of key assets from Trump Tower in New York to Florida, officials with the state attorney general's office said in their latest civil fraud case filing. Trump attempted to switch the Trump Tower addresses of several key assets to new addreses in Florida, state officials allege. In his final judgment, dated February 22, the judge uses the Manhattan Trump Tower address for all six of these defendants — not the Florida addresses Trump claimed.

Workplace conflict often looks like high school drama, according to consultant Rosalind Wiseman. Wiseman is no stranger to teen drama — in fact, she literally wrote the book on it. The corporate world and high school aren't the same, but the similarities are striking"The answer that I should say is that, 'Oh, adults are so much more mature than kids,'" she told Business Insider when asked about how workplace drama compares to high school. Wiseman said workplace drama tends to look different than what you see in high school — teens can be far more "crass" — but the levels of sophistication in which the conflicts and undermining play out can be similar. AdvertisementWhatever the conflict, adults can end up feeling similar to high schoolers — excluded, taken advantage of, or even bullied.

Read on to find out how these trendsetters are transforming the art of data-driven customer experience. If you skip this essential step, it will lead to scalability problems when building out a customer engagement strategy. Day to day, he said that means a lot of brainstorming on new ways to approach customer experiences, managing and optimizing campaigns, developing and maintaining customer data, and managing a CRM. Corey recommends that leaders looking to implement data-driven customer engagement strategies invest resources early into building a cross-functional team focused on internal customer data. "When everyone is looking at customer experience through the same lens, it rapidly improves efficiency and collaboration," Corey said.

WASHINGTON — Members of the House Homeland Security Committee are meeting Tuesday to discuss the Republican-led impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. House Republicans accuse Mayorkas and the Biden administration of disregarding federal laws on immigration and seek to make Mayorkas the second Cabinet official impeached in U.S. history. According to the first impeachment article set forth by House Republicans, Mayorkas "has willfully and systemically refused to comply with Federal immigration laws." Institutions Are (Quietly) Taking Sackler Money

When arts organizations began shunning the Sackler family over its role in the U.S. opioid crisis, it wasn’t just American institutions that cut ties. Museums in Britain that had accepted Sackler largess were among the first to take action. After the National Portrait Gallery in London canceled a $1.3 million Sackler donation in 2019, the Tate museum group announced it would not seek any more of the family’s support. Other museums began discussing removing the Sackler name from their walls. According to the Sackler Trust’s latest accounts, which were published this month, the nonprofit committed around 5.2 million pounds, or $6.6 million, in 2022, comprising 66 grants to institutions.

The end of workplace loyalty
  + stars: | 2024-01-22 | by ( Aki Ito | ) www.businessinsider.com   time to read: +16 min
Do that, and you generate the kind of trust and loyalty that leads to high productivity and low turnover. A world in which the psychological contract is profoundly broken. In the three decades following World War II, as Rick Wartzman documents in his book " The End of Loyalty ," a booming economy made American companies rich. Today, disillusioned workers might assume that the norm of workplace loyalty was nothing but a capitalistic ruse, a way for companies to exploit their employees. But the new loyalty would recognize that employees have to uphold their end of the bargain.

The best employees aren't always the smartest or most confident people in the room. There's a different quality that helps high performers stand out, says Harvard Business School professor Ranjay Gulati: They're trustworthy. "Trustworthiness is the most desirable trait CEOs tell me they look for in their employees," he explains. "Trust is a huge currency in organization, it's the quality on which all professional relationships are built and how they thrive." You might instinctively understand what trust is, but two types are crucial in the workplace, according to Gulati: character-based trust, and competency-based trust.

A properly designed SLAT contains a spendthrift clause, which prevents heirs from using trust assets or future distributions as collateral. After using the beneficiary spouse's $10 million exemption, the estate-tax bill is $9.01 million. The heirs pay income tax on income from the trust, but no estate tax is incurred when the trust passes to the next generation . There are a few caveatsThe trust maker's spouse loses their de-facto access to the assets if the beneficiary spouse dies first. Several courts have ruled against the argument that trust assets are marital property and should be divided.

In 1980, there were 24 private equity firms, according to Prequin, which tracks alternative assets; by 2022, there were around 5,000 private equity firms controlling some 18,000 companies. Among the industries where private equity sank deep roots was health care. Thin margins have forced many nursing homes to shrink their nursing staff, leaving them ill prepared when the pandemic hit. One New Jersey analysis found that facilities owned by private equity had a higher rate of Covid-19 deaths and cases than nursing homes not owned by private equity. Fewer than 20 percent of all nursing homes meet a recently proposed minimum staffing level, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation estimate.

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn is asking some workers to return to the office "multiple days per week" starting next month, according to an internal memo viewed by Insider. Unlike return-to-office mandates from other big tech companies like Amazon, LinkedIn's instructions specifically call out "hybrid workers," and do not appear to include those who are fully remote. Hybrid typically describes workers who work remotely and from an office. This memo is the first time that LinkedIn has specified how frequently those workers should expect to be in the office. Previously, there was no mandate for how often hybrid workers must commute in.

Actions may speak louder than words, but words still matter — a lot. People can get easily offended, and if you rush around like most folks, it's easy to say the wrong thing in the wrong way. As a public speaking expert, one thing I focus on is teaching good speech manners. If you use any of them every day, you have better etiquette skills than most people:1. This phrase is a gold star of conversational selflessness for two reasons: It's impossible to say these words unless you mean them.

Smucker 's (SJM) decision to buy Twinkie maker Hostess Brands (TWNK) in a deal valued at $5.6 billion. "I like the deal, if only just because I like this channel for Smuckers," Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street." Hostess Brands stock, meanwhile, surged nearly 19%, to more than $33 per share. Reuters reported in August that multiple major food brands such as General Mills (GIS) and Oreo owner Mondelez International (MDLZ) had shown interest in acquiring Hostess. Perhaps the "biggest worry" about acquiring Hostess Brands is the increasing popularity of weight-loss drugs known as GLP-1 agonists, and their potential impact on consumer food preferences, Cramer acknowledged.
