CNN —Social media is awash with memes and GIFs and, at times, ‘edginess,’ but it can be a difficult balancing act as the official Paralympics TikTok account is discovering. The account is run by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the organization which organizes and manages the Paralympic Games. In the comments, the official Paralympic account replied: “This is Brad Snyder. Mixed reactionsAs a result, the videos posted on the official account have received a mixed reaction, with commentators on many of them left disbelieving that the content published there is permitted. “Looking through that whole account, I might have seen one or two [videos] where the athlete actually does something successfully.
She and her partner made $180,000 in 2022 while maintaining the flexibility to ski and snowboard. I now live near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, during the winters to snowboard and run my digital-marketing agency, Snowmad Digital. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, the PR agency I was working for fired everyone, and I started wildland firefighting. One of my newer clients said they saw the video and just hired me this month largely because of it. I never work with my clients' competitors, and I work with clients all around the country and the world.
The challenge: Attempt a surf, skate, and snowboard "trifecta" in the middle of a busy work dayOver the past few years, remote work has become a routine part of our lives. This is the case for the sales teams at Volcom, a global lifestyle apparel brand based in Costa Mesa, California. Two Volcom sales executives, Brent Lantz and David Jurusik (or BL and Nook, respectively), embrace this — whether it's taking a call on a ski slope or discussing inventory with retailers on the road. Dell Technologies and Intel teamed up with Volcom to see if they could improve and optimize their on-the-go sales efforts and work connectivity. The challenge: Attempt a southern California "trifecta" — surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding within a 12-hour period — all while completing a full day of work.
Feb 2 (Reuters) - Three former U.S. snowboarders sued their former coach, the national snowboarding federation and the U.S. Olympic Committee on Thursday alleging sexual abuse that was covered up by the two sporting bodies, court documents showed. Rosey Fletcher, Erin O'Malley and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof sued former coach Peter Foley, U.S. Ski and Snowboard (USSS), and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) in U.S. District Court for the central district of Los Angeles. The suit alleges Foley exploited his position of trust with the athletes to "coerce sexual acts through force, manipulation, emotional abuse, intimidation, and retaliation". The U.S. Olympic Committee said at that time it had followed protocol and reported the allegations to the U.S Center for SafeSport, which handles reports of sexual abuse within the Olympic movement.
Former world champion skier Kyle Smaine was one of two people who died in an avalanche in Japan, according to a photographer who accompanied him on the trip and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team. Mr. Smaine, 31 years old from Salt Lake City, Utah, was skiing in Japan for a marketing trip, according to the Mountain Gazette, an outdoor cultural magazine. Mr. Smaine was accompanied by another professional skier from Washington, D.C., and Grant Gunderson , a photographer who was on assignment for the Mountain Gazette, the publication said.
The victory puts the 27-year-old just three wins away from the all-time record held by Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden, who captured 86 World Cup wins between 1974 and 1989. Eclipsing Vonn is the latest history-making achievement by the twice Olympic gold medallist and four-time overall World Cup champion, who could potentially end her career with more than 100 victories on the ski racing circuit. She ended that season as the Olympic, World Cup and world champion in slalom and her profile grew considerably as media appearances and sponsorships began to pile up for the amiable 18-year-old star. A powerful and precise skier, Shiffrin is the only athlete to win World Cups in all six disciplines - downhill, super-G, alpine combined, giant slalom, slalom, and parallel. Her mettle intact, she went on to win her fourth overall World Cup title later that year.
The performance secret of the world’s elite skiers and snowboarders starts off the snow. Athletes must first build a solid base of strength, power, agility, endurance and balance. That is the guiding philosophy of Tschana Schiller , director of sports science for action and endurance sports for U.S. Ski & Snowboard. And it is what elite mountain athletes under her watch consider before fine-tuning their skills on the slopes.

CNN —The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, officially unveiled in Miami Wednesday will be the Italian automaker’s maker’s last purely gasoline-powered supercar. It will also be unlike any Lamborghini supercar before because it’s designed to go off-road. Other Huracán supercars have air scoops on the side but, in this car, the side air scoops are permanently closed. But the concept of the Huracán Sterrato came entirely from inside Lamborghini, said Brokert, as engineers were developing the Urus, Lamborghini’s SUV. Production of the Huracán Sterrato will begin at Lamborghini’s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, in February.
Believe it or not, one of the things that has been helping me lately is just carving out some chill time. Three things to watch‘Dead to Me’ Season 3Christina Applegate as Jen Harding in a scene from "Dead to Me" on Netflix. On average, an A.Team mission is a 12-month engagement. I usually take on one full-time mission that requires 35 to 40 hours per week and a couple smaller missions that require five to 10 hours per week. So I took a hybrid approach and freelanced for a few years on top of my full-time job at Landyachtz. That's my biggest piece of advice to anyone trying to make their side hustle their full-time job: Create a safety net, then take the leap. This is eroding trust employees once had in the full-time work model.

In August, scientists and adventurers found camera gear abandoned by Brad Washburn, an American explorer, in 1937. By tracing the camera's path, scientists could learn how the glacier has changed over eight decades. "They essentially needed help to figure out how the glacier is moving and what's the best way of finding the cache," Medrzycka told Insider. "It was an amazing feeling, and I felt relief that I didn't fail at finding the cache," Medrzycka said, adding, "It was an epic moment for everyone." The team also retrieved two other cameras, including a DeVry "Lunchbox" model, with film still loaded inside.
(CNN) Double Olympic snowboarding champion Chloe Kim said she will sit out the 2022-23 season to focus on her mental health after a "draining" year. The American became the youngest woman to claim an Olympic gold in snowboarding when she won the halfpipe at the 2018 Winter Games as a 17-year-old and defended her title in Beijing earlier this year. "Just for my mental health," Kim told US online news service Cheddar News when asked about the reason for her decision.
