CNN —Aaron Rodgers provided fans with an update following his season-ending Achilles injury just four snaps into his New York Jets debut, indicating that his surgery was successful. Rodgers was sacked by Leonard Floyd and suffered a complete tear of his left Achilles tendon during Monday Night Football. When asked if Rodgers will be making a return to football, Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was resolute. Jets coaching staff believe Rodgers will return ahead of next season. Michael Owens/Getty ImagesThe onus will now be placed on 24-year-old Zach Wilson to carry the New York Jets’ quarterback load.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Zach Wilson was in the middle of the locker room Thursday talking about taking over for the injured Aaron Rodgers when a teammate shouted and made the New York Jets quarterback grin. Wilson struggled mightily during his first two NFL seasons and his confidence took a massive hit, and so did his popularity in the locker room. The way he’s carrying himself around the locker room, around the building is awesome.”Wilson feels it in himself, too. Many Jets fans remain skeptical Wilson has made significant enough progress to step in for a team that had Super Bowl hopes with Rodgers. The Jets want Wilson to play free, knowing the team is his — again — and he doesn't need to look over his shoulder.

Domino's updated loyalty program offers another reason to be optimistic about the stock, BTIG said. Analyst Peter Saleh reiterated his buy rating and top pick call for the pizza chain. "As expected, Domino's announced changes to its loyalty program this morning in conjunction with the start of the fall season and 4Q23," he said in a note to clients Tuesday. Domino's updated loyalty program includes new tiers and rewards that Saleh said should appeal to more costumers as it has faster redemption and more options. The update should build on other improvements in the business such as menu innovations and an upcoming launch with Uber Eats, Saleh said.

“But artificial surfaces are acceptable for our own players,” Howell said. The NFLPA in April pointed to studies from 2012-22 that it says show a significant increase in non-contact injuries on artificial surfaces vs. grass fields. He said some artificial surfaces are softer, creating more wobble when the foot hits the ground. It's for the good of the players & the game itself.”A new artificial surface was installed this year at MetLife Stadium. The Titans cited NFL data that put Nissan Stadium among the league leaders for games with players having lower-body injuries.

Sep 11, 2023; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) is injured while being sacked by Buffalo Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd (56) during the first half at MetLife Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 13 (Reuters) - The NFL Players Association called on Wednesday for the league to eliminate artificial turf fields in favor of natural grass surfaces following the season-ending injury to four-times MVP Aaron Rodgers this week. "It makes no sense that stadiums can flip over to superior grass surfaces when the World Cup comes, or soccer clubs come to visit for exhibition games in the summer, but inferior artificial surfaces are acceptable for our own players." The NFLPA this year released data showing non-contact injuries were more common on artificial turf compared to grass fields during the 2022 NFL regular season. Aaron Rodgers has a torn left Achilles tendon, according to a person familiar with the diagnosis, and the quarterback likely will miss the rest of the New York Jets' season. NFL Network first reported Rodgers tore the Achilles tendon, confirming the Jets’ fears. “Concerned with his Achilles,” Saleh said after the Jets’ 22-16 overtime win over Buffalo on Monday night. The situation evoked eerily similar memories of 1999, when Vinny Testaverde — who, coincidentally, was the Jets’ honorary captain Monday night — ruptured his Achilles tendon early in New York’s season opener against New England. Like this year’s squad, those Jets had Super Bowl aspirations after going to the AFC championship game the previous season.

While the Jets concluded their night with coach Robert Saleh joining a celebratory mob in the end zone, the injury to Rodgers cast a pall over their season. Saleh said after the game that the injury was to Rodgers' Achilles tendon and that the 39-year-old quarterback would have an MRI on Tuesday. A night that began with optimism for the Jets turned disappointing before the game was even four minutes old. Rodgers injured his left ankle when he was sacked by Buffalo’s Leonard Floyd and fell awkwardly on the leg. NFL Network reported Rodgers’ left foot was in a black walking boot as he was carted to the X-ray room.

CNN —Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, making his debut with the New York Jets, was carted off the field after suffering an ankle injury on just his fourth play in the team’s NFL game against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. The injury occurred during the team’s first drive in the first quarter when Rodgers was sacked by Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd. He was attended to by the Jets’ medical staff before being helped off the field at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters in the postgame news conference, “(We’re) concerned with his Achilles (tendon). Rodgers won MVP awards in 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021 while setting numerous records for his accuracy and deadliness over the years.

Analyst Peter Saleh trimmed his estimates for same-store sales, a key metric used by retailers and restaurants, for Starbucks , Chipotle and Shake Shack . He now sees Shake Shack's same-store sales rising just 2.9% in 2024, down from a previous estimate of 4.4%. "We see a greater impact on operators serving higher-income, more educated customer bases ... leading us to trim our same-store sales and EPS estimates." A separate BTIG survey found that Starbucks, Chipotle and Shake Shack are three restaurants with the greatest exposure to these borrowers. Shares of Chipotle and Shake Shack have outperformed the broader market this year, rallying 41% and 60%, respectively.

It's still early in the earnings season, but Wall Street thinks burrito chain Chipotle is the biggest winner. The firm raised its price target to $1,800 from $1,550, which was about 1% upside compared to Tuesday's closing price. He added that his firm "can't find any flaws in the results" and raised its price target to $2,175 per share from $1,825. Senatore increased her price target on the stock to $2,200 per share from $1,850. Wells Fargo also hiked its price target on the burrito chain to $2,050 from $1,900.
LONDON, March 8 (Reuters) - Volta Trucks, the electric-truck maker backed by billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli, is in advanced discussions to raise as much as 250 million euros ($263.58 million), its CEO told Reuters. Volta Trucks is gearing up to roll out its electric trucks, after delays in obtaining certification for its vehicles and constraints in sourcing supplies held up production, according to a company spokesperson. The company just months ago tapped investors for around 300 million euros in a deal that valued it at close to 600 million euros. Volta Trucks' existing backers include Kuwaiti supply-chain services provider Agility Public Warehousing Co (AGLT.KW), Bertarelli's family office B-Flexion, Swedish investor Byggmastare Anders J Ahlstrom (AJAb.ST) and U.S. hedge fund Luxor Capital. A spokesperson for B-Flexion said the investor remains "wholly committed" to Volta Trucks, but declined to comment further.
March 3 (Reuters) - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Friday blamed a wave of poisonings of hundreds of schoolgirls around the country on Tehran's enemies. Raisi, speaking to a crowd in southern Iran on Friday in a speech carried live on state television, blamed the poisoning on Iran's enemies. He did not say who those enemies were although Iranian leaders habitually accuse the United States and Israel, among others, of acting against it. He is the first government official to report an arrest in connection with the wave of poisonings. "Guards at a parking lot where the fuel tanker was parked also suffered from poisoning," Saleh said, referring to the Pardis site.
Syrian Presidency/Handout via REUTERSAMMAN, Feb 14 (Reuters) - The head of a Syrian opposition-run rescue group on Tuesday denounced a U.N. decision to give Syrian President Bashar al Assad authorisation over aid deliveries through border crossings with Turkey, saying it gave him "free political gain". U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Monday Assad had agreed to allow U.N. aid deliveries to opposition-held northwest Syria through two crossings on the border with Turkey for three months. Rescuers and aid groups have complained about the slow delivery of aid after the earthquake. U.N. officials have acknowledged aid was slow initially but said they were stepping up deliveries, including getting supplies from Turkey. Large deliveries of aid from Saudi Arabia and Qatar have begun arriving in the rebel-held enclave ahead of U.N. deliveries, Saleh said.
