Seoul, South Korea CNN —For the first time in decades, a nuclear capable US Navy ballistic missile submarine has made a port call in South Korea, in a move that comes just days after North Korea test-fired what it said was a solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile. The presence of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine in the South Korean port city of Busan was announced by the country’s Defense Ministry on Tuesday afternoon. The NCG is a joint US and South Korean panel set up by the countries’ leaders at a summit in Washington in April. The Nuclear Threat Initiative at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies estimates that each Trident missile can carry four nuclear warheads, meaning each US ballistic missile submarine could be carrying about 80 nuclear warheads. One arriving in South Korea on a port visit – which must be arranged 24 to 48 hours in advance – would be far more visible, giving North Korea an advantage, Schuster said.

May 10 (Reuters) - The U.S. government is investigating whether Rockwell Automation Inc (ROK.N) is exposing U.S. infrastructure, military and other government assets to potential cyber attacks through one of its China-based facilities, the Wall Street Journal reported. The report also said investigators are looking into potential vulnerabilities that may allow access from China to critical U.S. government and industrial infrastructure and computer systems. Shares of Rockwell, which did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, were down 1.35% at $274 in premarket trade. The Milwaukee-based company sells factory automation and robotics control software that caters to industries including aerospace, marine and automotive segments. In its most recent quarter, Rockwell reported a near 26% rise in its quarterly sales thanks to industrial demand.

WASHINGTON, April 26 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden and South Korean leader Yoon Suk Yeol are expected to agree on Wednesday to deepen collaboration meant to deter nuclear escalation by North Korea amid heightened anxiety about its growing arsenal of missiles and bombs, U.S. officials said. The Republic of Korea is South Korea's official name. The officials stressed that no U.S. nuclear weapons would be returned to the peninsula, and South Korea would continue not to have control over the U.S. nuclear arsenal. South Korea will also reaffirm its commitment to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and its non-nuclear status, they said. It is only the second state visit Biden has hosted since he took office two years ago - the first such guest was France's president.

Despite being in a weird moment as a business, Morgan Stanley said Rockwell Automation is still a good way to play the automation trend. Analyst Joshua Pokrzywinski has an overweight rating on the industrial robotics and automation stock. Rockwell focuses on industrial automation — increasingly attractive as businesses look to find a substitute for labor, and to trim labor costs. Pokrzywinski called Rockwell an "automation pure play," noting it's in the middle of an "unusual" business cycle. Nine of South Korea's submarines have defects that could sideline them for extended periods. The issue comes to light as North Korea launches scores of missiles in shows of force to its neighbors. South Korea's sub woes come as North Korea continues to issue threats over joint US-South Korean military exercises that Pyongyang claims are a rehearsal for an invasion. Aircraft in particular would be key to destroying North Korean nuclear sites, artillery emplacements, and even decapitation strikes against the North's leaders. Superior US and South Korean naval capabilities — perhaps assisted by Japanese forces — allow for amphibious landings, special-forces raids, blockades, and shore bombardment.
