CNN —Sam Kerr, Chelsea FC star and Australia women’s captain, pleaded not guilty to a “racially aggravated offense” of a police officer, British authorities said Monday. The 30-year-old striker was charged following an incident involving an officer on January 30 last year in Twickenham, a suburb of southwest London. Kerr was charged “via postal charge requisition on 21 January with a racially aggravated offense under Section 4A Public Order Act 1986,” the Met Police added. Rubiales had described the kiss as “mutual” – a claim Hermoso has denied, saying she did not consent and was not respected. Rubiales resigned as RFEF president last September following weeks of pressure and now faces potential prosecution over his alleged actions. LONDON (AP) — Four men were charged Monday over the theft of an 18-carat gold toilet from Blenheim Palace, the sprawling English country mansion where British wartime leader Winston Churchill was born. The toilet, valued at 4.8 million pounds ($5.95 million), was an artwork titled “America” and intended as a pointed satire about excessive wealth by Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan. It was part of an art installation at Blenheim Palace, near the city of Oxford, a few days before it vanished overnight in September 2019. The Crown Prosecution Service said Monday it has authorized criminal charges against four men, ages 35-39, over the theft. London CNN —Former Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has asked for privacy to begin “rebuilding his life” after he was found not guilty on a charge of rape and a separate charge of attempted rape. But jurors at the time failed to decide on two charges, resulting in the second trial. Outside court, Mendy said, “Alhamdulillah,” meaning “praise be to God” in Arabic. Mendy, who plays as a left-back, was suspended by Manchester City in August 2021 when the original charges against him were announced. LONDON, June 28 (Reuters) - Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey arrived at a London court on Wednesday for the start of his four-week trial on a dozen sex offence charges. Spacey, 63, denies allegations of historic offences committed against four men which are said to have taken place between 2001 and 2013. The charges against Spacey include indecent and sexual assaults and a more serious offence of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, which carries a maximum punishment of life imprisonment. Last November the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a further seven charges involving sex assaults on one man between 2001 and 2004. Spacey, once one of Hollywood's biggest stars, has largely disappeared from public view since being accused of sexual misconduct six years ago.

CNN —West Ham players confronted a group of AZ Alkmaar fans at the end of the teams’ match on Thursday after the section of the stadium containing the Premier League side’s friends and families came under attack. Videos also showed a number of West Ham players leaping over the hoardings in an attempt to intervene before security arrived to calm the situation. “I was really concerned about how the family of my teammates and the West Ham family are,” he told Sky Sports. CNN has reached out to West Ham and AZ Alkmaar for comment but had not received a response at time of publication. According to Reuters, there was a similar incident after the first leg in London last week when AZ supporters were accosted by West Ham fans.
