Armenia, a member of the CSTO, said it is "not Russia's ally in the war with Ukraine." The CSTO is Russia's equivalent of NATO, but members have snubbed Putin since its invasion of Ukraine. Experts say the alliance is crumbling as Russia's invasion exacerbated existing tensions. "We are not Russia's ally in the war with Ukraine. Some of those snubs directly related to the Ukraine war, including Kazakhstan denying Russia's request to send troops when the invasion began.

The story is schematic and the script, by the end, turns didactic, but Comer’s blazing, magnificent performance elevates the show into greatness. I kept thinking about “Prima Facie” as I sat in the Manhattan courtroom where E. Jean Carroll is suing Donald Trump for battery and defamation stemming from a rape that she alleges occurred in the mid-1990s. “The lived experience of sexual assault is not remembered in a neat, consistent, scientific parcel,” Tessa says. Both sides rested on Thursday — the Trump camp declined to call a single witness — and closing arguments are scheduled for Monday. Two of Carroll’s friends, Lisa Birnbach and Carol Martin, testified that Carroll told them that Trump had assaulted her shortly after it happened.
The writer for it all? Mo Willems, who, it turns out, really loves opera! “The commonalities between what my industry, or my main industry, does and what opera does are incredible,” said Willems, a six-time Emmy Award-winning former Sesame Street writer, who has earned three Caldecott Honors for picture books and reigns as a near-deity in children’s literature. “It’s big emotions,” he added during an interview at the Kennedy Center before the premiere. That three-year position coincided with the pandemic, to which he responded with invaluable “Lunch Doodles” videos, but it still let him explore a range of genres, including symphonic music, which he said “has always been important to me.”

WASHINGTON—A federal judge found that special counsel Jack Smith ’s team presented convincing evidence that President Donald Trump misled his own lawyers about his retention of classified documents after leaving the White House, according to people familiar with the decision. Judge Beryl Howell made that finding Friday in a sealed decision siding with federal prosecutors in their bid to bypass attorney-client privilege claims raised by one of Mr. Trump’s lawyers, Evan Corcoran , and compel him to provide more testimony. Judge Howell wrote that prosecutors had made a “prima facie showing that the former president had committed criminal violations,” the people said.

While the sample was small, the fact that none of these shoes made it to a Singapore recycling facility underscores weaknesses in the system. Dow said these builds will use the 10,000 kilograms (22,000 pounds) of recycled shoe material that have been produced through the Singapore recycling project so far. Reuters had dropped those shoes into a Dow recycling bin at a Singapore community center in September, three months earlier. Recycling flopsThis is not the first novel recycling scheme launched by Dow that hasn’t lived up to its billing. In its Jan. 18 statement, Dow said the shoe recycling partners are “energized by the common vision of sport championing a greener and more sustainable Singapore.” Dow did not comment on the Journal of Consumer Psychology study.
Pre-book onboard dining and entertainment as soon as possible. Brittany Chang/InsiderAll of my cruise travels have been on sailings exclusive to media and booking agents. As a result, my trips have either been covered or discounted by the cruise line. In my experience, you may have to pre-reserve your onboard dining or entertainment. If you're a picky eater or have a set schedule, I recommend booking your meals and shows as soon as possible.
But after sailing on the Wonder of the Seas, Prima's riffs on recognizable shows are no longer as appealing. However, I'll always have a soft spot for the "The Price Is Right Live." Brittany Chang/Insider
A study in the Journal of Sleep Research found poor sleep correlates with paranormal beliefs. People with insomnia and sleep paralysis more often believe in ghosts, aliens, and an afterlife. The study's authors told Insider the results could improve health care, but there's more to learn. Those who see them may have one thing in common, according to a new study published in the Journal of Sleep Research: sleep disturbances. Sleep paralysis was also highly associated with the belief that near-death experiences are evidence of life after death.

REUTERS/Thomas MukoyaISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Pakistan's interior minister said on Tuesday evidence suggested a prominent Pakistani journalist was the victim of a targeted killing in Kenya, not an accidental shooting, though he still needed more information on the incident. Kenyan police spokesman Bruno Shioso declined to respond to the minister's comments on the death of TV journalist Arshad Sharif, who was shot dead on the evening of Oct. 23 on the outskirts of the Kenyan capital Nairobi. "We still need to obtain more (evidence) to confirm all this ... and we have asked the Kenyan government for more data," he added. Sanaullah said the team had returned from Kenya, but Kenyan police had not yet given Pakistani investigators all of Sharif's recovered belongings. "We will now ask the foreign office to contact the Kenyan government, and the prime minister will also speak to the Kenyan president," the minister said.
Here are some details about the bridge:* It was built in 1877 in the town of Morbi in Gujarat state when the British ruled India. * Local authorities call the bridge an "engineering marvel" that was "built to give a unique identity to Morbi using the latest technology available in those days, in Europe". * Local authorities said the Oreva group, maker of Ajanta clocks and electrical products, was this year awarded a contract to maintain and manage the bridge for 15 years. * The bridge was earlier maintained by the local municipality, which used to limit the number of people on the bridge at one time to 20. BRUSSELS, Oct 17 (Reuters) - More than 40 European rivals to Google's shopping service urged EU antitrust regulators on Monday to use newly adopted tech rules to ensure the Alphabet unit complies with a 2017 EU order to allow more competition on its search page. The European Commission fined Google 2.4 billion euros ($2.33 billion) five years ago and told the firm to stop favouring its shopping service. The company subsequently said it would treat its own shopping service the same as competitors when they bid in an auction for adverts in the shopping box that appears at the top of a search page. "Google's prominent embedding of Shopping Units is a prima facie infringement of the DMA's ban on self-preferencing," they said. The most paramount case at the heart of the calls for the DMA needs to be brought to an effective end," the companies, from 20 European countries, said.
The U.S. imposed sanctions against a shipping company and two individuals for allegedly exporting oil to North Korea, which the U.S. said supports Pyongyang’s nuclear and military programs. The U.S. said the Courageous, also known as the Sea Prima, has participated in several deliveries of refined petroleum to North Korea, including ship-to-ship transfers to North Korean vessels that violated United Nations sanctions. North Korea faces sanctions from the U.S. and the U.N., including restrictions on its import of petroleum products. Ship-to-ship transfers have been identified as one way North Korea circumvents these sanctions. PREVIEWFriday’s sanctions come after the U.S. Justice Department filed a criminal complaint against Mr. Kwek in April 2021 for allegedly conspiring to evade economic sanctions on North Korea and for conspiracy to money launder.
Of the more than 11,000 documents seized by the FBI from Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 8, about 100 have classified markings. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com Register"Plaintiff again implies that he could have declassified the records before leaving office. Federal prosecutors in their filing to the appeals court highlighted that Trump's attorneys had resisted Dearie's request. As one of his defenses, Trump has claimed on social media posts without evidence that he declassified the records. Trump is a former president and the records do not belong to him.
The DOJ lawyers added that Trump "is now resisting" a request by a court-appointed special master for him to provide evidence that he declassified records that were seized. But in Tuesday's court conference, Dearie expressed skepticism toward Trump's lawyers about which, if any, of the seized Mar-a-Lago records had been declassified, NBC News reported. Unless Trump's lawyers could provide evidence to dispute that stance, "As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of it," Dearie said. Court documents also revealed that the FBI found four dozen empty folders marked "CLASSIFIED" during the raid. "Those notes could certainly contain privileged information," Trump's lawyers wrote.
The special master appointed to review documents seized by federal agents who searched former President Donald Trump's Florida estate appeared doubtful Tuesday about Trump's contention that he had declassified the various top secret and other highly sensitive documents found there. The special master, Senior U.S. District Judge Raymond J. Dearie, had previously asked Trump's attorneys for more information about which of the over 100 sensitive documents federal agents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate might have been declassified. During a hearing in a Brooklyn federal court, Dearie noted the current case is a civil dispute, not a criminal one, but that he was taking the government's concerns about national security seriously. "As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of it," Dearie said, unless Trump's team has some evidence to the contrary. “We are starting from scratch and we would be well served to have time to look at the documents," Trusty said.
