The broad monster rally which started in November has shown no signs of stalling yet, but it will eventually. We'll present an options trade here to capitalize on that sector rotation, specifically how to bet against an industry likely to see outflows. If the healthcare sector keeps pulling back, most of the stocks in this sector will also tend to pull back. This is a lot of money for a mere $600 potential profit. Since I am paying a debit to buy the $420 call, it also reduces my profit potential to $155.

Cracks are beginning to appear in the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 index . I have shown a chart of Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) which is an ETF that tracks the Nasdaq 100. Finding a stock to put on a bearish trade The stock I have picked for a bearish trade is Netflix (NFLX) . Starting Nov. 29, NFLX price candles are forming lower highs and lower lows, which is the easiest way to spot a downtrend. The trade structure I am using here is called a "bear put spread" also known as a "put debit spread".

Dec 1 (Reuters) - Canada's Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.TO) said on Friday it had raised $28 billion for its largest-ever fund, wagering on infrastructure assets the company believes would benefit from a shift to "deglobalization", given recent geopolitical tensions. Brookfield said the fund has already deployed 40% of its capital in six investments including renewable, transport, data center and telecom tower assets. The company, which manages over $850 billion in assets, said it had also raised $2 billion for related co-investment vehicles. Besides "deglobalization", Brookfield's latest fund will also focus on infrastructure assets tied to digitalization and decarbonization, the company said. The company had raised $20 billion for its previous global infrastructure fund in 2020.

TD said it would be challenging to meet its medium-term adjusted earnings growth target range of 7%-10% in the new fiscal year. It reported adjusted earnings of C$1.83 per share, 7 Canadian cents shy of estimates. RBC reported adjusted earnings of C$2.78 per share, comfortably beating expectations of C$2.62, according to LSEG data. CIBC also beat profit expectations as it set aside smaller-than-expected loan provisions and is slashing costs through a 5% reduction in its workforce, or about 2,400 jobs. The lender, Canada's fifth biggest, reported adjusted earnings of C$1.57 per share, compared with expectations of C$1.53.

Finding a stock to trade "A rising tide lifts all boats" and vice-versa is my mantra here. The trade set-up With a bearish directional bias in place, all I need to do is find a suitable options structure to take a bearish trade. The trade structure I am using here is called a "bear put spread" also known as a "put debit spread". Most trading platforms will offer a bear put spread (or long put spread) as a trade type and automatically construct the trade for you. Since the width of our spread is $255 – $250 = $5, I can buy the spread for $2.50.

A sign for The Bank of Nova Scotia, operating as Scotiabank, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada December 13, 2021. The lender said earnings in the 2024 fiscal year to Oct. 31 would be impacted by "slowing economic growth across its markets and increasing regulatory capital requirements" but it would also benefit from interest-earning assets. "We expect a challenging environment will persist for consumers and businesses," Chief Risk Officer Phil Thomas told analysts, citing muted Canadian economic growth, continued inflationary pressures and uncertain prospects for rate cuts. Finance chief Raj Viswanathan said deposit and loan growth were also expected to moderate from 2023 levels, noting savings levels have started coming down in Canada with inflation at multi-year highs, leaving consumers with less cash in hand. Its efforts to streamline operations resulted in a restructuring charge of C$258 million, Scotiabank said.

Starbucks (SBUX) looks like it could be an interesting stock to bet against. If it moves above 70 it means the stock is overbought, if it drops below 30 the stock is oversold. While being overbought doesn't guarantee a reversal, a drop below the 70 mark after being overbought often signals a potential pullback. Since the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine shattered global supply chains, a debate has raged over how integrated the global economy will be in the future. Some businesses are responding by "nearshoring" - the trend of locating manufacturing capacity in Mexico, closer to the U.S. market - to keep supply chains more stable. Disruptions to the "old system" signal globalization is changing and would lead to more trade relationships and diversified supply chains.

BlackRock files for spot ethereum ETF to further crypto push

BlackRock is proposing to convert the trust to a "spot" ETF, which means it will own ether instead of futures products tied to the crypto token. While futures-based crypto ETFs have previously been approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the regulator has long contended that the spot crypto market is prone to fraud and manipulation. BlackRock dipped its toes in the crypto space with its filing for a spot bitcoin ETF in June. Coinbase Custody, a unit of crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN.O), will hold the proposed ETF's ether in custody. The company is also the proposed custodian of BlackRock's bitcoin ETF.
