LA QUINTA, Calif. (AP) — Sam Burns shot the best round of his life with “RTR” shaved into the side of his head. Burns fired a career-low 61 on Friday to take a one-shot lead over Michael Kim and a two-shot lead on Dunlap at The American Express. While Burns was at 17-under 127 after his second straight impressive round, Dunlap and South Korea’s K.H. Burns shot 62 at the BMW Championship last season and at the Byron Nelson in 2021. He used that familiarity with the American Express courses to shoot 65-63 in the first two rounds, including six birdies on the back nine of the Nicklaus course Friday.

In a 2012 episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" Gordon Ramsay called a grilled lettuce dish "hideous." Ramsay later incorporated grilled romaine lettuce in a menu for a NASCAR event, Fox Sports reported. A viewer who spotted it called Ramsay out and suggested he should apologize. In the clip, Ramsay seemed astonished to find grilled caesar salad on the menu, and asked a server if it was a misprint. In his video, Doty pointed to this part of the menu, and called on Ramsay to apologize to the chef he had previously ridiculed for grilling lettuce.

Mendy was found not guilty of one count of rape and one of attempted rape by a British court in July after being acquitted of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in January following allegations made by multiple women. Mendy's lawyer Nick De Marco confirmed he was acting for Mendy in a "multi-million pound claim for unauthorised deductions from wages" in an emailed statement to Reuters. "Manchester City FC failed to pay Mr Mendy any wages at all from September 2021, following Mr Mendy being charged with various offences all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, until the end of his contract in June 2023," the statement added. Mendy, currently at Ligue 1 side Lorient, joined City from AS Monaco in 2017 for a fee of around 52 million pounds ($64.80 million). Goldman Sachs announced its 2023 class of managing directors Thursday afternoon, giving 608 employees the coveted title. It's a smaller cohort than the bank's 2021 MD class, down 5% amid a dealmaking slowdown. Still, Goldman appears to have taken pains to promote employees in revenue-generating divisions like investment banking and trading. Goldman says the percentage of women it promoted as part of the 2023 MD class sets a record, up 1% from 2021. Two years ago, Goldman promoted the largest managing director class in its history, naming 643 employees to the designation in 2021.

Atlanta CNN —A US-Russian dual national working for Radio Free Europe has been detained in Russia and charged with failing to register as a foreign agent, the US-funded news organization reported Wednesday. Alsu Kurmasheva is currently employed as a journalist and editor for the Tatar-Bashkir service of Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and is based in Prague.
