Shares of Trump Media shot up by more than 25% on Friday, minutes after majority owner Donald Trump said he is not selling his stake. Trump said that Truth Social, the Twitter-like social media platform owned by Trump Media, is "great for me," adding that his stake is still worth more than $1 billion. I'm not going to sell my shares," he said. Analysts have said that investing in Trump Media has become a way for Trump's fans to support him or bet on his political fortunes. The company fell to its post-merger low point this week amid concerns that Trump might start selling his shares once he is free to do so.

The dynamic of candidates shelling out thousands on Trump’s businesses while vying for his endorsement – which can make or break Republican campaigns – is an example of how politics has boosted his businesses’ bottom line. About 150 congressional candidates have reported spending campaign funds at Trump businesses, including some Democrats in the years before his first presidential bid. Walker’s campaign spent a total of nearly $215,000 at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club and his Las Vegas hotel.

Seventy-five years ago this past week, Sam Snead won the Masters Tournament and became the first champion to receive one of Augusta National Golf Club’s green jackets. Since the start of the month, Lottie Woad has captured the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. More than 30 past Masters winners gathered for dinner to honor Jon Rahm, last year’s champion, and Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson hit tee shots to start this year’s tournament. On Sunday, someone — perhaps someone new, perhaps someone already admitted to the locker room reserved for past champions — will win the 88th Masters. The only certainties, according to insiders who have spoken to DealBook, are that a final agreement isn’t imminent after a series of deadlines have come and gone. And whatever happens between the PGA and LIV may permanently shape the future of professional sports. The 2023 winner, Jon Rahm, designed a menu that reflected his roots in the Basque region of northern Spain. There was, however, a bitter taste to his triumphant return: He quit the PGA Tour for LIV almost four months ago.
