It recently labeled NPR "state-affiliated media," a move Musk later said might have been wrong, before changing it to "government-funded media." The FTC wants to outlaw companies that require extra steps to cancel services. The proposed rule would outlaw those practices. Companies would need to ask consumers if they wanted to hear a last-minute plea before pushing offers when a consumer tries to cancel. The proposed rule does not have a specific provision applying to refunds if a company were to unwittingly sign up a consumer for a service. Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers said it's hard to judge whether falling inflation will stay down. He compared inflation to a half-way healed "infection" that could return, in a harder fight for the Fed if not properly treated. "The hard thing to judge is whether inflation is on a strong enough downward trajectory to get to the 2% target," Summers said. Despite price pressures cooling, there's still concern among investors that January's strong jobs report could fuel inflation again. Against that backdrop, Summer suggests the US central bank will need to navigate its fight against inflation delicately.

Organic eggs are cheaper than regular ones, according to the largest egg producer in the US. "Specialty" eggs include kinds of eggs that have historically been more expensive, such as organic eggs and cage-free eggs. "Conventional egg prices exceeding specialty egg prices has occurred for the past three quarters but is atypical historically," Cal-Maine said in a statement outlining its second-quarter earnings. Organic and other specialty eggs still only make up a minority of the eggs sold in the US. Some consumers have started buying more expensive brands of eggs as prices on conventional eggs have gone up.

"When you walk into a room, you [need to] know your s--t better than anyone else in the room," he said. That lesson may be why Cuban seems confident enough in his four rules to stake his own livelihood on it. "I would get a job as a bartender at night, and a sales job during the day, and I would start working," Cuban said.

Mike Pence didn't give a straight answer when asked if he still thinks Trump is a good man. Pence was asked about a 2016 RNC speech, where he called Trump a "good man." NPR's Steve Inskeep asked Pence on Monday about a 2016 speech the latter made when accepting the nomination for the vice presidency. Inskeep brought up how, in that speech, Pence called Trump a "good man." Some Trump supporters erected makeshift gallows and chanted "hang Mike Pence" during the Capitol riot — actions that Trump privately expressed support for, the January 6 panel revealed.

A small church organization in Virginia is helping unhoused people get back into permanent homes. In addition to losing access to stable housing, Walker says, people lose access to their communities. "Homelessness can be life changing, it can be a matter of life and death," Walker told Insider. Once we'd filled our emergency fund with enough cash to cover three months of expenses, we moved on to building our down payment fund. Because we'd followed the advice in Tanza's article, though, we had the money to cover it in our emergency fund. Without our emergency fund to act as a cushion, these surprise expenses might have left us in debt.
