Rudy Giuliani's 3-bedroom Upper East Side co-op apartment just hit the market. The listing comes after Giuliani appeared as a co-conspirator in Trump's latest indictment. George Mickum, Gillian Hearst's former BFF, sold the heiress and his other rich friends fake Birkins. But the first red flag should have been a forged Hermès receipt that featured the wrong font. There wasn't even a dust bag; Mickum claimed his mom's assistant would drop it off later. It was floppy, like a bouncy castle that had lost half its air, instead of having the architectural stiffness of a real Hermès bag. The HAC was one of at least six fake Hermès bags Mickum had sold to friends, including Hearst.

Aja Monet, a Musical Poet of Love

A crowd that included musicians and actors filled the Gagosian Gallery on Madison Avenue earlier this spring to hear the poet and community organizer Aja Monet speak about the subtleties of Black love, joy and uncertainty. But for Monet, there was only one celebrity in the room: Bonnie Phillips, her former college adviser, who sat rapt in the front row. “I remember her suggesting what schools to go to and it wasn’t Harvard, you know what I mean?” Monet said in a recent video interview from her home in California. Recalling her high school years in New York, Monet said she asked a lot of questions in class but didn’t have the best grades: “I think I was way more just opinionated and outspoken.”She remains both on her debut album, “When the Poems Do What They Do,” a fluid mix of jazz and poetry out Friday that evokes the spirit of 1990s spoken-word scenes. Featuring a who’s who of instrumentalists she’s known over the years — Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah on trumpet, Samora Pinderhughes on piano, Elena Pinderhughes on flute, Weedie Braimah on djembe and Marcus Gilmore on drums — the LP is a nuanced exploration of Blackness.

The deal — which Sotheby’s and the Whitney refused to confirm in response to queries from The Times in April — finally resolves the fate of the Breuer building, which has hung in the balance since the Whitney moved down to the meatpacking district in 2015. Would the Whitney ultimately take back the building and operate uptown as well as downtown? Would the Breuer building end up as some wealthy person’s private residence or a fancy retail store? What was the Whitney without Breuer? But Lauder ultimately became a convert to the new location and it was named for him: the Leonard A. Lauder Building.

Twitter is going to make its ad inventory available to buy on the open programmatic market for the first time. The company is entering into a partnership with adtech company InMobi, and has been speaking with other ad vendors. Twitter had had ongoing conversations with multiple adtech vendors about partnerships for months, according to people familiar with the matter. Insider Intelligence last month slashed its forecast for Twitter's 2023 ad revenue to $2.98 billion, down 37% on its October projection for the same period. The move to work with external programmatic advertising vendors comes more than a year after Twitter sold its mobile advertising network to MoPub to gaming and adtech company AppLovin for $1.05 billion.
It said it plans to spend $15.3 billion on tech this year, up $1 billion from last year. The bank's tech spending is estimated to grow by $1 billion this year to $15.3 billion, including salaries for engineers, stepped-up cybersecurity efforts, and AI innovation. The regional banking crisis, meanwhile, could end up costing it $6 billion, including the cost of First Republic Bank. Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson calls the social-media platform the ‘last big one’ that allows free speech. Photo: Tucker CarlsonTucker Carlson ’s announcement that he is moving to Twitter isn’t getting an enthusiastic reception on Madison Avenue, as many advertisers are already skittish about spending on the Elon Musk-owned social-media platform. Mr. Carlson said Tuesday that he is launching a show on Twitter, just weeks after Fox News canceled his nightly telecast. Mr. Carlson was one of Fox’s most popular anchors, but his controversial brand of programming repelled blue-chip advertisers, and he was the target of organized advertiser boycotts.
Monica C. Parker Elena RossiniBetween chief happiness officers, the Happy Planet Index, Gross National Happiness, and the World Happiness Report (Finland scored the highest again this year), it seems as though happiness has some good PR. This one is: What if we’re so fixated on happiness that we’ve failed to question whether happiness is what we should be pursuing? We resist negative emotions such as sadness or fear at our peril. Even better than embracing your negative emotions is embracing both positive and negative emotions at the same time. Wonder makes us less stressed and feel like we have more time.
Advertising agency CEOs are eager to signal their companies' AI expertise to Wall Street. Called Max, the app will feature content from HBO Max and Discovery+. Discovery announced the details of its new streaming app on Wednesday, after much anticipation from Hollywood and Madison Avenue. The prices will stay the same for HBO Max subscribers, who will begin to be automatically ported over to the new service. HBO Max has greater recognition with younger consumers, according to a new Samba TV/HarrisX poll, which could help grow awareness for Discovery+.
"There's a lot of headaches about calamity in commercial real estate," said Kevin Fagan, director of commercial real estate analysis at Moody's Analytics. But credit in commercial real estate has performed well until now, and it's far from clear that U.S. credit issues spreading outward from real estate is likely. Analysts raised concerns that developers might default on a big chunk of $3.1 trillion of U.S. commercial real estate loans Goldman Sachs says are outstanding. "We're well aware of the concentrations people have in commercial real estate," Powell said at a March22 press conference. But there are reasons to believe lending issues in commercial real estate will be contained, Fagan said.
