First of all, there's no such thing as a “game clock” in tennis, in general, and no such thing as “too late” at the Australian Open and U.S. Open, in particular. … I haven’t been able to sit through one,” two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka said. The women's and men's professional tours announced just before the start of the Australian Open that they're instituting new rules this month to try to cut back on play after midnight. One problem: Those rules apply only to events run by the WTA and ATP — not Grand Slam tournaments. WHEN DOES MEDVEDEV PLAY NEXT?

Let 'em ride: Several of 2023's best-performing stocks were grossly undervalued at the beginning of the year. So while investors recognized the company could deliver massive earnings and free cash flow, they were afraid Zuckerberg had gone off the reservation. The stock sports topline growth, substantial margins, a strong balance sheet, substantial free cash flow, and a moat around its business. It's time to hedge some of those gains (or take profits): The second best-performing stock in the Russell 1000 for 2023 is Coinbase (COIN) . If you own, but don't want to sell, consider purchasing the March $45/$35 put spread as a particle hedge, as illustrated below.

After 2023's blowout run, it's hard to recall the once gloomy investing setup for technology stocks last December. Bitcoin rallied to start the week, touched a new 2023 high to end it and suffered a brief drop in between, weighed down by the trouble at Binance. Coin Metrics measures a week in crypto, which trades 24 hours a day, from 4:00 p.m. Optimism about the likely approval of a spot bitcoin ETF has been building for the past couple months, serving as the biggest catalyst for the cryptocurrency. Romania is not ready to uphold same-sex couples' rights - PM

BUCHAREST, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Romanian society is not ready to uphold the rights of same-sex couples in line with a European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling, leftist Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said late on Thursday. The ECHR ruled in May Romania had failed to enforce the rights of same-sex couples by refusing to recognise their relationships, in a ruling which could eventually force policymakers to expand protections for the LGBT community. Asked whether Romania will enforce the ruling, Ciolacu told radio station Europa FM that "the Romanian society is not ready for a decision at the moment. Socially conservative Romania decriminalised homosexuality in 2001, decades later than other parts of the European Union, but still bars marriage and civil partnerships for same-sex couples. A referendum to change Romania's constitution to prevent same-sex couples from securing the right to marry failed to draw enough voters in 2018.

Nov 17 (Reuters) - The board of the company behind ChatGPT late on Friday fired OpenAI CEO Sam Altman - to many, the human face of generative AI - sending shock waves across the tech industry. By Rami AmichayGEZER, Israel (Reuters) - Family and friends of Vivian Silver, a prominent Canadian Israeli peace activist, commemorated her life on Thursday, two days after authorities confirmed she had been killed by Hamas militants on Oct. 7. She had moved to Israel from Canada in 1974 and was a founding member of Women Wage Peace that campaigns for peace between Israel and Palestinians. "Not only I ... was orphaned, your many friends were orphaned, the country that you adopted at a young age, and a movement was orphaned, the movement of peace," her son Yonatan Zeigen told mourners at the outdoor ceremony. Militants killed around 1,200 people on Oct. 7 and kidnapped around 240 others, according to an Israeli tally. Women Wage Peace said Silver was a pivotal member of the group and had pushed the Israeli government to seek a political solution to its long-standing conflict with Palestinians.

At its first ever developer's day conference earlier this month, OpenAI tried to tackle the situation head on by announcing Copyright Shield. That's a promise that OpenAI will pay the legal fees of its business customers in the event they're sued for something they made using its products. "We can defend our customers and pay the costs incurred if you face legal claims around copyright," said OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in his keynote speech. But OpenAI rival Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI researchers and backed by billions of dollars from investors like Google and Amazon is taking a different approach. But to the extent that liability does exist, Anthropic says it's the person using the product that bears the blame.

Russian forces posted a video of a Lancet drone striking a Ukrainian combat vehicle by exploding several feet away from the target. Pranjali Awasthi, 16, came up with her startup while interning in university research labs. Because of the pandemic, my high school had gone virtual, so I was able to intern for about 20 hours a week. In 2020, OpenAI released its ChatGPT-3 beta, and I knew we could use it to make extracting and summarizing research data easier.
