That number runs very close with TSA interceptions in the first quarter of 2023, in which 1,508 firearms were intercepted, the agency said in a news release. DALLAS (AP) — Houston point guard Jamal Shead exited the Cougars' Sweet 16 game against Duke with 6 1/2 minutes left in the first half after his right foot turned awkwardly on a move to the basket Friday night. The All-American walked slowly off the floor and went to the locker room. Shead was driving when he planted his foot and it turned, though he continued the play and missed a contested layup. After being tended to by an athletic trainer, Shead walked gingerly past the Houston bench and into the tunnel toward the locker room. The Blue Devils trailed top-seeded Houston 16-10 when Shead departed with 6:38 left.

Marissa Mayer, former Yahoo CEO, just announced a new app from her latest venture. It's called Shine, and it's a photo-sharing app where multiple people can upload photos to a shared album. Are you really trying to tell me that in the year 2024, people can't figure out how to share photos with each other? Shine, the new photo-sharing app ShineYes, there are some other things that could do this. Maybe, just maybe, Marissa Mayer will have another success on her hands here.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza (AP) — An international team of doctors visiting a hospital in central Gaza was prepared for the worst. But the gruesome impact Israel’s war against Hamas is having on Palestinian children still left them stunned. These gut-wrenching casualties were described to The Associated Press by Tanya Haj-Hassan, a pediatric intensive-care doctor from Jordan, following a 10-hour overnight shift at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the town of Deir al-Balah. After nearly six months of war, Gaza’s health sector has been decimated. In the early stages of the war, Israel severely limited the entry of food, fuel and medical supplies into Gaza.

TOKYO (AP) — Health supplement products believed to have caused two deaths and sickened more than 100 people have been ordered to be taken off store shelves in Japan. The products from Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., billed as helping to lower cholesterol, contained an ingredient called “benikoji,” a red species of mold. The ministry has put up a list on its official site of all the recalled products, including some that use benikoji for food coloring. The recalled products could be bought without a prescription from a doctor, and could be purchased at drug stores. The ministry official warned there could be more victims in the days ahead.
