CNN —One person has died and at least five people were injured as a vehicle crashed into an Austin medical center emergency room Tuesday evening, according to the facility’s chief medical officer. Christa Stedman of the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said the child in critical condition had life-threatening injuries while the adult’s injuries were potentially life threatening. One patient was admitted to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, where the crash occurred in the ER lobby, Chief Medical Officer Peter DeYoung said. Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said the proposal on a hostage release deal was delivered to Israel in the early hours of Tuesday. Before gathering with his full government, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Tuesday with his war cabinet and wider national security cabinet over the deal. Israeli media including Channel 12 news said that if the deal was approved, the first release of hostages was expected on Thursday. Implementing the deal must wait for 24 hours to give Israeli citizens the chance to ask the Supreme Court to block the release of Palestinian prisoners, reports said. An explosion Monday rocked the second floor of a hospital in Gaza, killing about a dozen people, including patients, according to hospital staff and Palestinian officials. Gunfire and explosions around the Indonesia Hospital, in the northern part of the enclave and where thousands are seeking shelter, have intensified in recent days, the hospital’s medical director Marwan Al-Sultan said in a telephone interview. He said several Israeli tanks had been moving back and forth about 100 feet from the hospital entrance.

Twenty-eight babies who were born prematurely in Gaza City's besieged Shifa Hospital have been transported to Egypt, where their parents and healthcare workers hope they can receive the treatment they need to grow. As they waited to be evacuated to Egypt via the crossing at Rafah on Monday, the premature babies were cared for at a hospital in the border city. The World Health Organization organized the evacuation of 31 babies from Shifa on Sunday. Three were transferred to the Emirates Hospital in Rafah, and are in good health, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society. The Gaza Health Ministry says more than 250 critically ill or wounded patients remain stranded at the compound.
