AdvertisementAyomikun Adekaiyero: The series does a great job of showing how this toxic masculinity among the men — particularly Aegon, Daemon, and Criston — escalates this conflict. I think he's a character that — don't get me wrong, I love Daemon — got a little bit muddied in season one. Ayomikun: Also, though I do believe both Aegon and Daemon want war for the wrong reasons, they're kind of right? Ayomikun: Criston and Aegon are really like that "It's always two dumb people telling each other exactlyyyyy" meme. Ayomikun: The fight was a truly brilliant scene, especially since we as the audience can't really tell which twin is which.

I have heard from many young Jews around America newly awakened to their Judaism. These young Jews have different backgrounds and political views, but they share the life-altering experience of deep disillusionment with previous professional or social homes. Young American Jews today are realizing that they, too, can be made to feel unwanted in their own homes. Scott Wren, a senior global market strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute, recently noted that market breadth is abnormally narrow. He found that the five best performers in the S&P 500 accounted for nearly three-fifths of its exceptional 10.6% year-to-date gain through May 31. That fate will soon apply to the S&P 500, Wren warned. Such a sell-off would take the S&P 500 below 5,000 for the first time since April. "And it's tough to be patient when the S&P 500 set a bunch of all-time high records."

There's a coalescence of two themes, high speed, accelerated computing and increasingly intelligent AI, and neither works without Nvidia chips. "Flying Fairy," a 53% alcohol from Shanghai-listed Kweichow Moutai , saw wholesale prices drop by more than 5% in a week. He agreed the drop in wholesale prices won't have a big impact on Moutai's immediate earnings. What's also different about Moutai's stock decline is that investors aren't rushing in to bottom fish as they have in the past, Ye said. "The recent wholesale price drop we think is mostly triggered by the arbitragers in the market," Morningstar's Song said. Earlier in June, a young couple was rescued on a hiking trail in the California desert after running out of water and becoming dehydrated. Prepare for a hot hike ahead of timeWhether it’s hot or cool, you should be in reasonable shape before tackling any hike. You can do so by taking short, easy hikes in warm weather, progressing up to longer, more difficult hikes in hot weather. When in doubt, turn around“If you start your hike and think it’s too hot, it’s too hot,” Martinez said.

How the vodka soda became 'gay water'
  + stars: | 2024-06-22 | by ( Alex Harring | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +11 min
The combination of soda water and vodka has long been a fixture of boozy LGBTQ+ life, particularly among gay men. One of those came from Houston-based lawyer Jeff Watters, who called the vodka soda the "gay water" of the nighttime in a post on X. Retail is also central to the business for Gay Water, a startup offering canned cocktail variations of vodka soda. The former's vodka soda citrus is 100 calories per can, while Gay Water contains 80. The Gay Bar Shop, a specialty retailer, sells an 11-ounce, $49 candle that smells like a vodka soda with a lime garnish.

An exterior view of the Supreme Court on June 20, 2024 in Washington, DC. In a closely watched case, the Supreme Court on Thursday denied a challenge to a federal tax on certain foreign investments — but left questions about whether a wealth tax is constitutional. The provision was enacted via the Republicans' 2017 tax overhaul to help pay for the legislation's other tax breaks. While the Supreme Court upheld the tax on the Moores, the justices steered clear of the broader debate on whether a wealth tax is constitutional. He emphasized the limited scope of the opinion and how it only addressed the "precise and narrow question" of the Moore's case.
