Editor’s Note: This is a version of CNN’s Royal News, a weekly dispatch bringing you the inside track on Britain’s royal family. London CNN —There was a moment that fell under the radar while the Prince of Wales was in Singapore this week. There, Prince William and a star-studded cast announced this year’s cohort of winner, but earlier in the week, the heir to the throne achieved his own, quieter, victory. One of the questions we’re often asked is about the real-world return from all the speeches, walkabouts and waving the royal family does. Having this kind of quantifiable impact is at the core of William’s vision for his time as Prince of Wales.

LONDON (AP) —The United States on Friday expanded its effort to cut off funding for Hamas, announcing a second round of sanctions against people and organizations linked to the group since it launched an attack on Israel that killed more than 1,400 people. The new sanctions highlight Iran’s role in providing financial, logistical and operational support to Hamas, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control said in a statement. They include a Hamas representative in Iran and members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard. The U.S. also sanctioned a number of organizations, including the Iranian Bonyad Shahid, also known as the Martyrs Foundation. They also block financial transactions with those designated and prohibit the contribution of funds, goods and services to them.

The plant's proposed initial capacity would expand Toyota's existing manufacturing capacity in India by as much as 30% from 400,000 units currently. A representative for Toyota's India unit declined to comment. Cars originally from Maruti Suzuki's (MRTI.NS) stable such as the Glanza hatchback and Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV now account for 40% of Toyota's India sales. Toyota, known for its Fortuner SUV and Camry hybrid in India, told Reuters earlier in September it expects record domestic sales in 2023. REUTERS/Carlo Allegri/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 27 (Reuters) - Peloton Interactive (PTON.O) and Lululemon Athletica (LULU.O) said on Wednesday they had entered into a five-year global partnership, sending Peloton's shares up 16.7% in aftermarket trading. Under the deal, Peloton would become the exclusive digital fitness content provider for the apparel maker, developing all content for Lululemon Studio beginning early 2024. The fitness platform provider, once a pandemic darling, has taken a series of measures to cut costs. Shares of Peloton's rival Xponential Fitness (XPOF.N) pared some gains on the news of the company's deal with Lululemon and were last up 3.6% after the bell. Lululemon also said it would discontinue selling its Studio Mirror - an interactive "smart fitness" device that features live, on-demand workouts - which has seen lackluster demand in recent months.

Carbon accounting startup Plan A has just secured $27 million in a round led by Californian tech investor Lightspeed Venture Partners. Berlin-based Plan A, founded in 2017, is one of many startups helping big companies measure and manage their carbon emissions. Carbon accounting companies raised $5 billion at the sector's 2021 peak, per PitchBook, as venture capitalists and large asset managers piled into the buzzy category. One way Plan A differentiates itself is its steady pace, cofounder and CEO Lubomila Jordanova told Insider. Operating in a hype market can be tricky because it deflates the value of carbon accounting in the long term, she said.

X — formerly Twitter — will auction off items from its San Francisco HQ due to its brand overhaul. Just because these items are being auctioned off doesn't mean you'll be able to fill your living room with furniture from Twitter HQ. HGP will help buyers carry items into the loading area, but it does not provide shipping services. In January, the company sold items from its HQ including a pizza oven, office furniture, and an espresso machine. The Twitter bird and signature sky blue theme are slowly being removed in favor of the black and white X branding.

On top of the more outlandish items, Twitter is looking to get rid of office equipment including desks, chairs and refrigerators. The auction, run by Heritage Global Partners (HGP), opens September 12 and runs for two days in San Francisco. Twitter also put memorabilia up for auction in January, trying to offload similar items. The committee's first hearing comes as the Biden administration takes a range of steps to root out junk fees, which the CFPB says includes credit card late fees, overdraft fees and surcharges on ticket purchases. Among other actions, the agency recently fined Bank of America $150 million for charging its customers multiple overdraft fees. In his testimony, Brian Johnson, managing director of financial regulatory consultancy Patomak Global Partners, said the CFPB "has been the most enthusiastic among regulators" in targeting junk fees. Democrats argued the power to target junk fees fits within the CFPB's core duties. "And let's not forget, these are the same banks that are bankrolling the attacks on the CFPB," Warren added.

JetBlue said it had informed American last week of its decision to terminate the three-year-old alliance, which allowed the two carriers to coordinate flights and pool revenue. The "Northeast Alliance" with JetBlue helped American compete in the New York market, where it had been losing money. On May 19, U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin in Boston ordered JetBlue and American to end the partnership, saying it "substantially" diminished competition in the domestic market. JetBlue said its decision to unwind the alliance would not result in any immediate changes for customers. But without the alliance, Hayes said JetBlue would likely need fewer employees in New York and Boston.

Ukraine faces an enormous fundraising challenge, and it’s one that governments and development finance institutions won’t be able to meet without help from private investors. The Ukraine Development Fund is still in the planning stages and is not expected to launch until the conflict ends. MELBOURNE, June 20 (Reuters) - Australia, one of the world's biggest suppliers of raw minerals, unfurled a landmark strategy on Tuesday that outlines how it will work with investors and international partners to build a critical minerals processing industry for the energy transition. Supplier of nearly half of the world's lithium, Australia is a significant producer of rare earths, cobalt, copper, graphite, manganese and other minerals key to the global energy transition. The Grattan Institute, a think tank, estimates the critical minerals industry could add more than $400 billion to Australia's economy by 2050, a bigger contribution than the coal industry, Australia's no.2 export, today. The government is considering policies that would enabledomestic supply of Australian critical minerals for Australian projects, it said, although any future approach must be tailored to the needs of Australia and the global context. This comes as international companies secure ownership and supply of Australian minerals, particularly lithium and rare earth elements, meaning Australian processors and manufacturers may struggle to access supplies of Australian minerals in future.
