☆ Cargill CFO Resigns as Company Reshuffles Leadership

Cargill Inc. said its chief financial officer, Jamie Miller, is stepping down for another opportunity as the agricultural giant reshuffles its executive leadership. The spokeswoman said Ms. Miller is leaving Cargill for a job on the East Coast and to be closer to family.

An active-duty Marine was arrested and charged with the death of his 4-month-old baby in Jacksonville, North Carolina, police said Friday. The baby was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics with the Onslow County Emergency Medical Services, the statement said. The Jacksonville Police Department conducted an investigation into the death of the infant and then arrested McGill, according to the statement. Investigators were working with the local district attorney’s office as well as the Naval Criminal Investigative Services, because of McGill’s status as an active-duty Marine, the statement said. The Naval Criminal Investigative Services confirmed that McGill, who is an Active-Duty Marine Lance Corporal, was arrested on Friday in connection with a murder investigation.

Of particular importance is information about how many seniors die, develop disabilities, can no longer live independently, or have a significantly worsened quality of life after major surgery. “What older patients want to know is, ‘What’s my life going to look like?’” Cooper said. Invasive procedures that take place in operating rooms with patients under general anesthesia were counted as major surgeries. Two years ago, Gill’s team conducted research that showed 1 in 3 older adults had not returned to their baseline level of functioning six months after major surgery. This includes assessing older patients three times a day for delirium (an acute change in mental status that often afflicts older hospital patients), getting patients moving as soon as possible, and using non-narcotic pain relievers.

Brian Sikes is set to become the 10th CEO in Cargill’s 157-year history. Agriculture giant Cargill Inc. said its Chief Operating Officer Brian Sikes will take over as chief executive of the Minnesota-based company at the start of 2023. Cargill’s current CEO, David MacLennan , will on Jan. 1 take over the role of executive chair of Cargill’s board ahead of the company’s customary retirement age of 65; Mr. MacLennan is 63. Mr. Sikes, 54 years old and a 31-year company veteran, will become the 10th CEO in Cargill’s 157-year history.

CNN —Harry Styles has always been one to color outside the lines as an artist, and his latest music video is only the latest example. In the video for “Music For a Sushi Restaurant,” which premiered on Thursday, the former One Direction star appears as a mer-creature – half man, half squid (or is it an octopus?) – who finds himself in the kitchen of a sushi restaurant as cooks all around him chop up and fry various aquatic animal for gourmet dishes. Standout moments include Styles’ mer-creature acting like a bit of a diva backstage at the divey establishment, getting a manicure and having everyone wait on him hand and, well, tentacle. “Music For a Sushi Restaurant” is the third single off Styles’ third studio album “Harry’s House,” released in May.
