ATLANTA (AP) — The Georgia prosecutor pursuing a case against former President Donald Trump and others on Wednesday asked a judge to revoke the bond of defendant Harrison Floyd, saying he has been intimidating witnesses and codefendants in the case. Floyd, Trump and 17 others were indicted in August by a Fulton County grand jury, accused of participating in a wide-ranging scheme to illegally try to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. The charges against Floyd stem from allegations of harassment of Ruby Freeman, a Fulton County election worker who had been falsely accused of election fraud by Trump and his supporters. Chris Kachouroff, an attorney for Floyd, said District Attorney Fani Willis' attempt to revoke his client's bond was nonsense, adding, “She's not going to get it granted." In addition to the charges in Georgia, Floyd also faces federal charges that accuse him of aggressively confronting two FBI agents sent to serve him with a grand jury subpoena.

CNN —Rudy Giuliani has failed to pay more than $132,000 in sanctions he faces for failing to respond to parts of a lawsuit from two Georgia election workers, according to a court filing. Giuliani has struggled to pay legal bills in recent months, including related to the lawsuit from Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, a mother and daughter he defamed. Giuliani lost the defamation lawsuit in August from the two Georgia election workers against him after he failed to provide information sought in subpoenas. In court in recent weeks, Giuliani said he could no longer contest that he made false and defamatory statements about Freeman and Moss. Georgia election officials have debunked Giuliani’s accusations of fraud during the ballot counting.

LONDON, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Former British Cycling and Team Sky chief medical officer Richard Freeman has been banned from all sport for four years, effectively Dec. 21 next year, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) said on Tuesday. “He is having financial difficulties,” Giuliani’s lawyers said in a filing this month in a civil defamation case brought by two Georgia election workers against him. The criminal charges that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis brought against Trump, Giuliani and 17 others will undoubtedly add to the former mayor’s legal bills. Giuliani wanted to search the records so he could respond in each of the election-related lawsuits, according to court filings. By May, Giuliani was more than $320,000 behind in payments to the document hosting company, according to a sworn statement he made in court. The New York state judge overseeing Smartmatic’s defamation case has a hearing set for Wednesday.

CNN —Rudy Giuliani concedes he made defamatory statements about Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss in an effort to resolve their lawsuit against him and to satisfy a judge who has considered sanctioning him. The late-night Tuesday filing from Giuliani says he doesn’t contest Moss and Freeman’s accusations that he smeared them after the 2020 election. Yet the filing says he still wants to be able to argue that his statements about voter fraud in the 2020 election were protected speech. Notably, he also refuses to concede that his statements caused damages to Moss or Freeman. CNN has reached out to a lawyer for Freeman and Moss.
