Yum China, which operates Pizza Hut restaurants in the country, recently reported that consumer demand softened in September and October. Photo: Cfoto/Zuma PressChina has long been a source of stock-market optimism. Now it is turning into a reason for worry. Investors started the year by pouring money into China-focused funds, a bet that the end of Covid-19 restrictions would unleash supercharged spending in the world’s second-largest economy. Instead, a stubborn lack of growth and escalating political tensions with the U.S. are fostering poor returns and uncertainty about the future.

___The generational shift at quarterback in the NFL reached a new milestone last week. This was the first time since Week 6 of the 2002 season that no quarterback born in the 1980s took the field. That raised the total of rookie starting QBs this season to nine, tying the non-replacement record set in 2019. The youth movement at quarterback has played a role in the struggles on offense across the league in the first half of the season, with scoring at its lowest mark through nine weeks since 2007. NEW YUCK, NEW YUCKThe performance so far this season for the New York teams has been rather offensive.

I'm fucking done," she told a reporter at Time, who described Wolfe Herd as "blinking back tears" during the interview. "My hands are tied," Wolfe Herd told the audience, according to several people who were in the room. Wolfe Herd once called him her biggest mentor, saying, "He's become my family and one of my best friends." Some early employees said they only found out about the shadow-equity program, and who received it, years later. Based on the current share price, Wolfe Herd is no longer a billionaire, though her fortune still sits at an estimated $627 million.

America leads developed nations when it comes to obesity. Those paying close attention to the stock market and recent corporate earnings calls might be forgiven for thinking the problem has been solved. Call it the Ozempic effect. A new generation of highly effective weight-loss and diabetes drugs known as GLP-1s has led to fanciful assumptions on Wall Street that spell doom for companies that have profited from America’s obesity problem. It has also led to speculation that gigantic opportunities await those that would benefit from the aggregate weight loss.

Brown has 831 yards in his last six games and is currently on pace for 1,995 — slightly ahead of Johnson's record. Mahomes had won 13 straight games in the division, one shy of the longest streak since the merger held by Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. Mahomes also saw an end to his streak of 35 straight games in the regular season or playoffs with at least one TD pass.
