New York CNN —Tucker Carlson’s top producer, who left Fox News along with the far-right host to work on his X show, is accused of sexually assaulting a former colleague in an alleged incident that occurred more than a decade ago. Andrew Delancey, a former Fox News employee, filed a lawsuit against Justin Wells, the former executive producer of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” accusing him of sexual assault and harassment in 2008 when Delancey moved to New York for a job with Fox News’ affiliate video service. In the lawsuit, Delancey alleges that he was befriended by Wells who told Delancey he could help him “learn the ropes” of the right-wing cable network. At the time Wells was a producer for Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show. Fox fired Carlson in April and canceled his program during the fallout from the $787 million lawsuit settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former Fox News reporter says in a lawsuit he was targeted and fired for pushing back against false claims about the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. A spokeswoman for Fox News did not immediately return an email message seeking comment on the lawsuit. Donner also debunked Tucker Carlson’s “Patriot Purge," a program on the Fox Nation streaming service that argued Jan. 6 was used as a pretext for persecution of conservative Americans. The lawsuit was first filed in Washington’s Superior Court Sept. 27 and subsequently moved to federal court. Fox also faced a lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems and paid nearly $800 million this year to settle the case alleging that Fox knowingly promoted false conspiracy theories about the security of its voting machines.

The fabricated clip, posted on Facebook (here), has the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” branding on-screen and features the show’s namesake host. Carlson introduces Musk, who talks about a quantum AI project that he says could increase a person’s income “exponentially” and without active participation. An online search for the purported quantum AI project did not offer any information on the project (bit.ly/3QUVbsL). A video of Elon Musk announcing a quantum AI project on Tucker Carlson Tonight is fake, a spokesperson for Fox News has said.

New York CNN —Ray Epps, the Arizona man that conspiracy theorists falsely claim led an FBI plot to orchestrate the January 6 insurrection, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Fox News, accusing the right-wing channel and former host Tucker Carlson of defamation. “Eventually, they turned on one of their own.”Spokespeople for Fox News did not immediately return a request for comment. “As Fox recently learned in its litigation against Dominion Voting Systems, its lies have consequences,” the lawsuit added. In that same month, Fox News also settled an election-related lawsuit with a Venezuelan businessman who had also sued the network for defamation. Fox is also facing another major defamation lawsuit from voting technology company Smartmatic, which is suing the network for $2.7 billion.

Alexander McCaskill, a senior producer and formerly the managing editor of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” wrote on Instagram that his last day at the network was Thursday. Thomas Fox, who was a senior editorial producer on that show, also departed this week, according to two people with knowledge of the moves. One of the people said Mr. McCaskill and Mr. Fox had been in discussions to leave the network before Tuesday, when a chyron that appeared on Fox News called President Biden a “wannabe dictator.”In a video posted to Twitter on Thursday, Mr. Carlson said the chyron had been posted by a producer at the network who had since left. Fox has ideology, of course (which has cycled through different flavors of conservatism over the decades), but it also has an aesthetic. Fox News is designed to look like it is broadcasting from the top of the world; “Tucker on Twitter” looks not unlike something livestreamed after the apocalypse. Carlson could be different; Fox News has yet to recover in the prime-time ratings from his sudden departure. But Carlson, for all his anti-elite posturing, is wholly a creature of legacy TV, having hosted shows on Fox, CNN and MSNBC. They say you’re wrong, you’re crazy, you’re a racist.

Ingraham continues to host her show, with transcripts of broadcasts as recent as May 25 available on the Fox News website (here). The claims arose in the context of reports (here), (here) that major changes would take place at Fox News after host Tucker Carlson’s exit in April (here). Ingraham joined Fox News in 2007 and has hosted “The Ingraham Angle” since October 2017 (here). A Fox News spokesperson said in May 2023 that Ingraham continues to work at the network.
