Tookes told BI it was an ivory fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart necklace and a sheer bodice. "I was super excited they had brown," she said, as the darker shade would be a better fit for her skin tone. "You're telling me that it's free to be white, but if my bride has a different skin tone than white, she has to pay extra money to get an undergarment to match her skin tone?" How fucked is that that in 2024, the 'standard,' which is free, is a 'nude skin tone?'" "I really don't want to wear a dress that stands for charging someone more off the basis of their skin tone," Tookes said.

Psyllium husk is a cheap fiber supplement that can boost gut health and aid digestive issues. I took psyllium husk for three weeks and was shocked by how big an impact it had and how fast it worked. My digestive symptoms settled down in week twoIn my second week of taking psyllium husk, everything settled down a bit. The texture of psyllium husk was too hard to overcomeIt's been a couple of weeks since I stopped taking psyllium husk and my body has returned to its previous state. I definitely think I was benefitting from taking psyllium husk, so I still plan on finding a way to incorporate it into my diet.

A first date in Charleston, SC was expectedly a reenactment of a scene from "Bridesmaids." I had explosive diarrhea so bad, I had to poop in the sink; I later realized I stained my shorts. CNN —Tori Penso watched the 2019 Women’s World Cup at home with her eight-month-old daughter in her arms. Four years and countless professional matches later, Penso will proudly walk onto the pitch with Australia and England to referee the semifinal match of the Women’s World Cup at Sydney’s Stadium Australia on Wednesday. Two years after that, Penso was selected by soccer’s world governing boy FIFA as one of six American referees to go to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. “If you told me six years ago that I would be here talking to you about to head to New Zealand and Australia for the Women’s World Cup I would have said no way,” she said. Her selection for the Women’s World Cup, once her main goal, is now a stepping stone along her journey to the top of the women’s and men’s game.

Being asked to officiate for a friend’s or relative’s wedding is an honor. Sean Parker, of Napster and Facebook fame, reportedly asked Sir Ian McKellen to officiate at his 2013 “Lord of the Rings”-themed wedding dressed as Gandalf. When it comes to officiating, the wedding couple’s wishes come first. That means that when it comes to deciding what to wear, the first thing to do is understand the wishes of the couple. You would not wear the same thing to officiate at a beach wedding as you would a country club wedding as you would a backyard wedding; evening weddings demand different clothes than lunchtime weddings, and so on.

Their quest begins in Dunedin against Portugal, who are the highest ranked newcomers at this year's event at world number 21. But the focus ahead of their Group E opener was on the training conditions in New Zealand, with Netherlands coach Andries Jonker saying the facilities had been inadequate. "History is history and the future is the future, you can only live where we are now," Sweden coach Peter Gerhardsson said on Saturday. France reached the World Cup quarter-finals on home soil four years ago and will begin their campaign against Jamaica in Group F in Sydney with a clean slate under coach Herve Renard, with off-field issues finally behind them. Renard, who led Saudi Arabia to a group stage win over Argentina at the men's World Cup last year, replaced Corinne Diacre after key players refused to play under her and will hope to pull off another miracle by turning the team into world champions.

Should You Hire a Bridal Stylist?

When it came to dressing for her May 6 wedding, Ashley Oliver Thomas had trouble narrowing down the many options available, while at the same time navigating a new job. “Initially, the whole wedding-planning process, including the pressure of finding the perfect dress, intimidated me,” said Ms. Oliver Thomas, 35, a diversity director for a Cincinnati staffing company. Her wedding planner, Brittany Sharp, the owner of the Sharp Standard, a wedding and event planning design firm based in Atlanta, Ga., suggested that Ms. Oliver Thomas, who is from Lexington, Ky., hire a bridal stylist to help customize the gowns she had already chosen for herself and her bridesmaids. “My wedding planner explained that a stylist would be my bridal concierge, personal shopper, advocate and counselor all rolled into one,” she said. “I instantly felt relieved by the thought of having that support.”Ms. Oliver Thomas hired Selina Howard, the creative director of Vainglorious Brides, a bridal fashion stylist based in Atlanta.

CNN —When I first heard about the film “Joy Ride,” an unabashedly raunchy comedy about four Asian American friends and their misadventures in China, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Regina Kim Courtesy Regina KimIt felt exactly like the kind of movie that the Asian American community had been waiting for. To be perfectly honest, after going to a screening of “Joy Ride,” it took me two days to fully process what I’d seen. Perhaps I was so startled because I wasn’t used to seeing Asian Americans — especially Asian American women — depicted like this. I’m hoping that more people will realize that Asian American women can be sassy, outspoken, hilarious, weird or all of the above — but, most importantly, that we, too, are human.

This film, directed by the “Crazy Rich Asians” co-writer Adele Lim, may not reinvent the raunch-com wheel (see: “The Hangover,” “Girls Trip,” “Bridesmaids”), but it does change who’s driving the car. And, most importantly, it is really, really funny. “Joy Ride” processes all of its familiar ingredients into a sustained, sometimes near-berserk, barrage of jokes, interspersed with epic set pieces. That is, up until the two-thirds mark, when the movie paints itself into a corner and presses the “earnest sentimentality” eject button before managing a narrow escape. It’s a small price to pay for the inspired pandemonium that precedes.

Its adherents may be on to something, this expert saysThe concept of self-marriage, or sologamy, has been around for years. No data exists on how many people celebrate sologamy with ceremonies, but the practice has been explored in a handful of recent news articles. CNN talked to four women who’ve married themselves. Sologamy is not legally binding in the US and is not recognized by the laws of any country. Fideli’s message to younger women struggling with self-esteem issues: It’s never too late to love yourself.
Summer movie preview 2023

CNN —Most moviegoers can pinpoint one summer movie – or perhaps, a summer of movies – in their formative years that really and truly cemented their love for going to the cinema, whether it be 1975’s “Jaws,” “E.T. And while streaming has clearly siphoned off part of the audience, particularly for more serious films, what we think of as “summer movies” still have the potential to rake in cash just like the old days. (CNN and DC are both part of the same parent company, Warner Bros. Courtesy Warner Bros. PicturesInitially meant for streaming platforms, this vehicle will herald the cinematic arrival of DC Studios’ first Latino superhero, played by Xolo Maridueña of “Cobra Kai” and “Parenthood” fame. If the fast-paced trailer is any indication, the movie looks sure to whisk those dog days of summer doldrums away quite nicely.

Donna Morgan calls the ladies’ dresses she used to design for her eponymous clothing line “conservative”—the kind of reasonably priced, colorful garments you might see at a dinner party in the South or on a bevy of bridesmaids. But Ms. Morgan has always dressed herself in modern, minimalist, Japanese-inspired, mostly black clothes. “I never wore any of my own dresses,” she says.
She says there are plenty of ways to save money on hotels, gifts, dresses, and makeup. It's why she's attended 15 wedding events across the country over roughly the past year, including seven weddings, four bachelorette parties, and four bridal showers. She sometimes feels she has "no excuse" not to attend every wedding, bachelorette party, and shower she's invited to. She was set to attend weddings in New York and Oregon over back-to-back weekends when she decided she needed a break and decided to skip both of them — the only two weddings she's missed this year. But she says she's learned how to budget, save money, and when it gets to be overwhelming, prioritize which weddings she will attend over others.
