Passive income streams are a great way of mitigating your financial risk and earning extra income. I talked to financial advisors and accountants about lucrative passive income streams they've seen. Owning a parking lot, real estate, blogging, and online courses can generate over $100,000 a year. To help mitigate personal financial risk, I try to create as many passive income streams as I can. Over the years, I've built multiple passive income streams for myself including courses, e-books, and selling merchandise.

A prominent doctor is suing NYU Langone Health after he was fired as director of its cancer center over his social media postings about the Israel-Hamas war. Dr. Neel is one of two doctors whom NYU Langone has removed for online postings since the war began last month. The lawsuit could put NYU Langone under the microscope in the widening debate. “They should take away their scholarships,” Dr. Grossman wrote in a message to Dr. Neel in October. In a statement, NYU Langone said Dr. Neel’s decision to share those emails was just him “lashing out for being held accountable.”“The emails referenced in the suit were among colleagues and Dr. Neel is now making them public in an effort to pressure NYU Langone,” the statement said.

Elon Musk’s worst nightmare

It's hard to tell, for a simple reason: The data on the safety of robot cars sucks. Until robot cars have traveled for hundreds of millions of miles, there's no way to get a statistically significant, unequivocal conclusion. If the data on robot cars is equivocal or incomplete, then those rules should keep them off the road. In a sense, she's Elon Musk's worst nightmare. To her, the safety of self-driving cars is not an abstract question.

A picture of a bumper sticker that mocks Elon Musk is again making the rounds on social media. In the picture that was posted on the "me_irl" subreddit, a Model Y is shown with a bumper sticker that says: "I bought this before we knew Elon was crazy." It's unclear where the apparent bumper sticker originated, or whether there's more than one. On Feb. 27, an article claiming that the United States was behind the bombing of the Nord Stream underwater pipelines in the Baltic Sea was published on the Substack and Blogspot blogging platforms. The posts were part of a Chinese influence campaign that stands out as the largest such operation to date, researchers at Meta said in a report on Tuesday. The effort, which the company said had started with Chinese law enforcement and was discovered in 2019, was aimed at advancing China’s interests and discrediting its adversaries, such as the United States, Meta said. In total, 7,704 Facebook accounts, 954 Facebook pages, 15 Facebook groups and 15 Instagram accounts tied to the Chinese campaign were removed by Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Hundreds of other accounts on TikTok, X, LiveJournal and Blogspot also participated in the campaign, which researchers named Spamouflage, for the frequent posting of spamlike messages, according to Meta’s report.

To retire at 35 and live on investment income of $100,000 a year, you need at least $5.22 million invested. With an annual spending target of $65,000, you'll need about $3.25 million invested. How much you need invested to retire at 35According to Fry's calculations, an investor who leaves work at age 35 would need at least $5,225,000 in a taxable investment account on the day they retire in order to have an annual post-tax income of $100,000. If the investor reduces their target annual income to $65,000, they would need about $2 million less — or $3,250,000 — invested on the day they retire. Fry's simulation also did not factor in potential Social Security income.

In fact, credit card rewards have been a cornerstone of my finances since college. Eventually, I started blogging about travel rewards and now I write about credit card rewards for many well-recognized outlets. These days, I carry a slim-nylon surfer wallet containing only a Bank of America Unlimited Cash Rewards card. Others have said they don’t want their work being used to train AI models, which could then be used to imitate them. Amazon removed the fake books being sold under Friedman’s name and said its policies prohibit such imitation. Author Jane Friedman found several books being sold under her name on Amazon, only she didn't write them — she suspects artificial intelligence did. The Authors Guild has been working with Amazon since this past winter to address the issue of books written by AI, Rasenberger said. And, she said, companies and publishers should continue investing in creative work made by humans, even if AI appears more convenient.

Now its CEO is stepping down, it's selling off parts of its business, and is set to hand back investor cash. But as vaccinations arrived and the travel restrictions eased, demand for Hopin's platform waned. Browsing one of the literature bulletin boards, he came across a serialized novel titled “My Beijing,” published under the pseudonym Drunken Fish. Hao’s depiction of Chengdu’s seedy underbelly became a sensation on forums like Tianya, one of the period’s largest blogging platforms. Once, a colleague recommended the novel to Hao without knowing that he was Murong Xuecun. “From the get-go, he has been completely obsessed with how people are corrupted by the environment in which they live,” says Megan Walsh, author of “The Subplot,” a book about contemporary Chinese literature. Later, at a propaganda meeting, the deputy party secretary of Chengdu criticized Hao’s fiction for damaging the city’s image.

New York CNN —A federal judge is set to consider a gag order on former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried after prosecutors accused him of leaking his former girlfriend and business partner’s personal writings to the New York Times. US District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan was expected to rule on a so-called gag order that would prevent Bankman-Fried from discussing his case publicly. At a previous bail hearing, Kaplan alluded to the possibility of revoking Bankman-Fried’s bail deal and forcing him to await trial in jail. In February, Judge Kaplan tightened restrictions on Bankman-Fried’s bail after prosecutors flagged a direct message Bankman-Fried sent to a former FTX employee, raising concerns about potential witness-tampering. While his lawyers said they would comply with any gag order, they pushed back on prosecutors’ allegations of witness-tampering.

Originally called Twitter Notes, and now called Articles, it's currently being tested among a small group of users, according to Twitter's website. Musk may not remember this (I don't think that many people do) but Facebook also had a feature called Notes. Facebook Notes was introduced in 2006. Basically, it was the exact same thing as Twitter Notes, but 17 years earlier. All in all, it doesn't seem like the opportune time to roll out a long-form writing feature.
