1 on this list because it's the culmination of everything Grande does best. Only an artist with tremendous talent, clout, and emotional strength could have produced and released an album like this. That she managed to siphon this music from the depths of personal tragedy makes the effect even more sublime. If I were forced to choose, "NASA" and "Make Up" are the weakest of the bunch, but that certainly doesn't mean they're bad. In fact, it's a testament to the strength of this album that its "worst" songs are just slightly less dazzling than the rest.

Dear listeners,Though we’re still less than two months into 2024, it already feels like it’s going to be a busy year in the music world. For today’s Amplifier, I’m highlighting nine others who have recently released songs worth your time. Sure, there are a few names you’ll recognize (I hear this guy Usher just played a pretty high-profile gig), but hopefully some will be new to you. CNN —To file under the fantasy music collaborations category, Billy Joel has been toying with the idea of joining forces with some contemporary music greats. “I thought about putting together a band,” Joel retorted. “Me, Don Henley and Sting, and maybe John Mayer on guitar.”That roster would surely be a worthy update to the Wilburys, which was a supergroup team-up between the late Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and George Harrison, along with Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan. Joel also said he talks to Paul McCartney “a lot,” but added that he doesn’t “have the nerve” to ask the former Beatle to band up. And, like with any legal contract, you'll want to know what getting out of it looks like.
