The RN election party in the northern town of Henin Beaumont erupted in celebration as the results were announced. “Nothing has been won – and the second round will be decisive,” she said. CNN —Reigning champion Italy was knocked out of Euro 2024 in the last 16 after Switzerland produced a stunning upset to win 2-0 on Saturday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Swiss supporters didn’t have to wait long after the break for a second goal – only 27 seconds to be exact. Italy’s continued sloppiness on the ball carried over into the second half, immediately giving the ball away from it’s own kickoff. While Switzerland deservedly advanced, it was an uncharacteristically out-of-sorts performance for Italy, who’s defense of its title ends in the first knockout game of the tournament. CNN —Baseball Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda has died at age 86, his family announced via the San Francisco Giants on Friday. Cepeda made his major league debut with the Giants in 1958 – the year they moved from New York to San Francisco. Orlando Cepeda, then a player for the Atlanta Braves, poses for a photo in 1970. APCepeda is one of only two players in National League history to win both Rookie of the Year and MVP honors, unanimously.
