Movies and television shape what people think about ancient Egypt. Here are 10 things that "Moon Knight", "The Mummy", and others got wrong and one they got right. When it comes to ancient Egypt, they can draw the portrait of pharaohs ruling Egypt with an iron fist, cruel torture, and wicked booby-trapped pyramids. "All of the sarcophagi that I've seen in Egypt were made of stone," said Browder, an author of several books on ancient Egypt. The curse that set Imhotep on his murderous path in "The Mummy" has no historical basisIn "The Mummy," Imhotep was mummified alive.
When Luke Iseman was thinking of launching a solar geoengineering startup, he talked to experts in the field. I want no geoengineering to occur," Iseman told CNBC. And that's a that's a pretty terrifying world to imagine," Iseman told CNBC. "Initially, I was really skeptical entirely of the of the voluntary carbon credit market," Iseman told CNBC. Pasztor told CNBC.

The software-developer-turned-philanthropist was nevertheless upbeat about climate innovation - ticking off numerous areas advancing low-carbon technologies with funding from the Breakthrough Energy Group, which Gates founded in 2015. Gates has invested more than $2 billion toward climate technologies, including direct air capture, solar energy and nuclear fission. Breakthrough Energy, however, operates separately from the Gates Foundation charity. But any Breakthrough Energy profits are funneled back into the group or to the foundation. He did not elaborate on the DAC companies' plans.
The James Webb Space Telescope can capture a more complete view of galaxies, stars, and planets. Before Webb, astronomers had another workhorse cosmic observatory: the Hubble Space Telescope. Webb is 100 times stronger than Hubble, which allows astronomers to peer even further into space. Webb spied countless galaxies that Hubble missedA side by side collage of the same area taken by the Hubble and the James Webb space telescopes. Where Hubble saw a faint dot, Webb resolved 2 distinct mystery objectsOne of the lensed images of MACS0647-JD, from the James Webb Space Telescope.
Investors souring on ESG funds could pose a challenge to governments seeking to enlist them in the fight against climate change. In 2021, 40% of actively managed ESG funds beat their benchmarks, almost as well as conventional funds. In 2020, the actively managed ESG funds did even better; 57% of them beat their benchmarks, while only 43% of conventional funds did so. One active ESG fund that has suffered in the downturn is Parnassus Core Equity fund (PRBLX.O). It's possible that market trends will come to favour the portfolios of ESG funds in the coming months.
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope is 100 times stronger than the Hubble Space Telescope. Hubble showed astronomers a single galaxy in the early universe, but JWST revealed it was two mysterious objects. Dan Coe, a researcher with the Space Telescope Science Institute, first discovered it 10 years ago with the Hubble Space Telescope, which was previously NASA's most powerful space observatory. One of the lensed images of MACS0647-JD, from the James Webb Space Telescope. Two galaxies colliding and merging, as photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope.
The new photos included a cluster of stars from 5.6 billion light-years away. The light from the MACS0647-JD system is bent and magnified by the massive gravity of galaxy cluster MACS0647. The massive gravity of galaxy cluster MACS0647 acts as a cosmic lens to bend and magnify light from the more distant MACS0647-JD system. It also triply lensed the JD system, causing its image to appear in three separate locations.
