Jeremy Grantham's investment firm is taking its first steps to enter the world of exchange traded funds, debuting a new offering modeled on one of Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo's crown jewel mutual funds. The GMO U.S. Quality ETF (QLTY) launched last Wednesday, marking the investment firm's first ETF. The new ETF will be managed by the same team that helms GMO Quality III mutual fund ( GQETX ). The QLTY ETF should see a similar turnover rate of around 20% to what the mutual fund has, he added. Jeremy Grantham, GMO's chief investment strategist, is not directly involved in the new ETF.

The revamped Congressional District 2, which was designed to boost the voting power of Black residents, has a voting-age population that is 48.7% Black, giving the district a decidedly Democratic tilt. State Republicans, however, say they are not ceding the seat without a fight. A federal judge ordered Georgia to draw an additional Black-majority congressional district, although the state plans to appeal. The Alabama district is an open seat in the 2024 election after the current representative, Republican Rep. Barry Moore, was drawn out of the district. Moore has decided to challenge Republican Rep. Crews began the arduous process of removing layers of rubble and debris in the search for a missing worker Thursday at a collapsed coal mine preparation plant in eastern Kentucky where a second worker died. Officials briefly made contact with one of the two men working inside, but announced Wednesday he died amid rescue efforts. Authorities said Thursday they have not had any communication with the second worker since the building collapsed at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Inez, a town of about 500 people. In the second full day of rescue efforts, officials are removing the debris into smaller piles for the search.
