The Nothing Phone 2 will soon give Android users the option to communicate with Apple's iMessage. It works by asking you to log into your iCloud account through a Mac mini server farm, drawing security concerns. If messaging services are dividing phone users, then we want to break those barriers down. AdvertisementWhile a simple switch from green to blue bubbles might sound trivial, there really is an existing communication barrier for some Android users, especially when most of the people they talk to have iPhones. Business Insider previously spoke to Android users in their 20s who said they had received criticism and mean comments about their phone choice.

Why Gen Zers skip their lunch break
  + stars: | 2023-11-15 | by ( Tim Paradis | ) www.businessinsider.com   time to read: +4 min
Gen Z workers are most likely to skip lunch at least once a week, a survey found. Seven in 10 Gen Z workers report they don't take lunch at least once a week. That's compared with about half of millennial workers and four in 10 Gen Xers who skip lunch. Of course, not all Gen Zers skip lunch. Beyond what a lunch break does for us at work, eating at the right times can boost health, according to scientists.

High inflation and interest rates have made it hard for people of all ages to build up emergency funds, but Gen Z seems to be having a particularly difficult time stashing away cash, a recent Bank of America survey found. In fact, 56% of Gen Zers say they don't have enough savings to cover three months of expenses in the event of an emergency. Given that emergency funds tend to grow as people get older and wealthier, Gen Z's lack of savings doesn't come as a shock to Douglas Boneparth, certified financial planner and president of Bone Fide Wealth. But this doesn't mean that younger generations should procrastinate when it comes to starting an emergency fund. Here are the basics of an emergency fund and why it's important for Gen Z to begin stashing away cash now.

"Saving for retirement takes some level of knowing what type of lifestyle you'll want in retirement," Malani said. There's little reason for wealthier young Americans to push back buying a home or starting a family due to anxiety about retirement saving. In a TikTok video, different generations revealed the rent prices for their first apartments. Viewers were left shocked after one baby boomer said he paid $98 per month for his first apartment. AdvertisementAdvertisementWhile a growing economy allowed the typical baby boomer to generate wealth, many millennials and Gen Zers have been weighed down by rising inflation and high rental costs. Several people argued that these prices do not account for inflation, but others pointed out that rent prices are still much higher today, even with inflation considered. Most recently, Gen Zers have been speaking out against work culture, arguing 9-to-5 schedules and in-office mandates are flawed.

Gen Zers aren't eager for promotions, partly because they believe management is unfulfilling. Gen Zers crave support, clarity on goals, a realistic career path. But actually, that's not the dream of many Gen Zers. For many Gen Zers, it can be easy to look at their managers and think, "No, thanks." The consultancy also found that Gen Zers think meaningful work is just as important as workplace flexibility when they're considering a job opportunity.

Mr. Nouveau said he was inspired to join TikTok after seeing the success of men’s fashion influencers. He stayed off camera for his first video, which, in 56 seconds, featured a man talking about his 1968 Rolex Day-Date. But by his third post, Mr. Nouveau decided to go on camera. “Quickly I realized that while the ‘Watch Spotting’ was cool, there was an audience who was curious about collectability.”The age of his followers, he said, also was an eye-opener: “Suddenly, all these kids aged 16 to 30 were asking me, ‘Where do I buy vintage watches?’, ‘How do I find a good dealer?’, ‘My grandfather left me these 12 Patek Philippes — what do I do with them?’ An entire generation of young people, the ones that make up like most of the TikTok audience, were being ignored by the vintage watch community.”(According to the market research firm GWI, TikTok is the fastest growing platform worldwide among Gen Zers — except in China, where the domestic version, called Douyin, takes the crown — even though the oldest Gen Zers top out at 25 years old, and the average age of TikTok’s users is 34.)

Opinion | Joe Biden Is in Trouble

President Biden is offering fulsome support to Israel, though with more words of caution recently. If that continues, the winning Biden 2020 coalition is at greater risk of fracturing — and in the process, making Donald Trump’s return to the White House more likely. Many young voters have been reluctant to back Mr. Biden for some time now, despite record-setting levels of support from Gen Zers and millennials in 2020. The latest battleground state polls by The New York Times and Siena College show Mr. Biden holding a one-point lead over Mr. Trump among registered voters under 30 and a six-point lead among likely voters in the same age category. In 2020, exit polls showed Mr. Biden winning the youth vote cohort, 60 to 36 percent.
