The bunker was located near the music festival that was attacked by Hamas on Saturday. AdvertisementAdvertisementCNN correspondent Nic Robertson choked up on air while recounting a harrowing experience visiting a bloodstained bunker in Israel amid the nation's ongoing war with Hamas. Fighters from Hamas massacred civilians attending the Tribe of Nova Music Festival on the same day. At least 260 bodies have been recovered from the music festival attack. These are human beings, they're family members, they're friends, they're loved ones, cousins, brothers, sisters," Kirby told Tapper while holding back tears.

Expensive dates, inflation, and loneliness are weighing on Gen Zers seeking romantic connections. AdvertisementAdvertisementBecause Gen Z grew up with Facebook, Instagram, and other social platforms, many 20-somethings have grown accustomed to instant connection. To that point, dozens of Gen Zers told Insider they're putting more effort into friendships and nonromantic social events to combat loneliness. Inflation hovered at 3.7% year over year in August, nearly double the 2% rate policymakers want, and it's weighing on Gen Z wallets. "Gen Z wants to find people in natural, organic contexts as friends first, and if something romantic happens, that's great," Lerner said.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) said if the U.S. company fails to adequately address the regulator's concerns, "My AI", launched in April, could be banned in the UK. "The provisional findings of our investigation suggest a worrying failure by Snap to adequately identify and assess the privacy risks to children and other users before launching 'My AI'", Information Commissioner John Edwards said. "My AI went through a robust legal and privacy review process before being made publicly available," a Snap spokesperson said. The ICO is investigating how "My AI" processes the personal data of Snapchat's roughly 21 million UK users, including children aged 13-17. Social media platforms, including Snapchat, require users to be 13 or over, but have had mixed success in keeping children off their platforms.

DETROIT (AP) — Starting next year, people who want to buy a new or used electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle will be able to get U.S. government income tax credits at the time of purchase. Under the Inflation Reduction Act, which included the credits, buyers can transfer the credits to dealers, which can apply them at the point of sale starting Jan. 1. To be eligible, electric vehicles or plug-ins have to be manufactured in North America. There also are income limits for buyers set up to stop wealthier people from getting the credits. There also are requirements for battery and component manufacturing that could disqualify some vehicles or make them eligible for only part of the tax credits.

I once interviewed Karl Pillemer, the Cornell sociologist and author of "30 Lessons for Living: Tired and True Advice from the Wisest Americans." He'd seen numerous studies showing that people in their 70s, 80s, and beyond were far happier than younger people. It occurred to him that maybe they see and understand things that younger people don't. When elders say that life is short, they're not being pessimistic. Worrying about things that never happened: "Worrying wastes your life," one respondent said.

However, there are some key differences between the mechanics of credit cards and Helocs. Still, Helocs have far lower rates than credit cards, even for borrowers with strong credit scores. If interest rates climbed to 7% a year later, your payment would rise to $58 a month until the end of the draw period—unless interest rates move again or you draw more from the line. (Secured credit cards are an option for people with limited credit history; they require a cash down payment.) Consolidating credit card debt is another common use, since rates on credit cards can be as much as double what they are on home-equity loans.

The Wall Street sign is pictured at the New York Stock exchange (NYSE) in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York, U.S., March 9, 2020. A shorter settlement time might increase efficiency, cut collateral needs, and "increase the competitiveness and the attractiveness of EU financial markets", ESMA said. ESMA is seeking views for a cost/benefit analysis of moving to at least T+1, though few believe it will not go ahead given advances in technology, regulatory pressure, and gravitational pull of Wall Street. EFAMA, a European funds industry body, says the move on Wall Street will require changes to existing IT systems for European firms and U.S. investors who trade European shares. There is already talk of moving to the next stage after T+1: instant or simultaneous settlement.

In a few cases, according to NHTSA, ARC air bag inflators could be blocked by small pieces of debris, stopping the gases from escaping as they should. In May 2023, General Motors recalled 1 million GM vehicles with the air bags. NHTSA estimated the risk of one of these inflators rupturing at one in every 370,000 air bag deployments. But officials said the only way to know if an air bag has the defect is for it to actually rupture. NHTSA and various automakers are still working to get vehicle owners to replace all the air bags involved in that recall.

CNN —The 2023 Nobel Prize in physics has been awarded to a team of scientists who created a ground-breaking technique using lasers to understand the extremely rapid movements of electrons, which were previously thought impossible to follow. “An attosecond is to one second as one second is to the age of the universe,” the committee explained. Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L'Huillier shared this year's physics prize. Rapid movements blur together, making extremely short events impossible to observe. Electrons’ movements in atoms and molecules are so rapid that they are measured in attoseconds.

Altimeter Capital Chair and CEO Brad Gerstner is massively bullish on artificial intelligence, saying the power of the advanced technology could even trump the internet. "AI is going to be bigger than the internet, bigger than mobile and bigger than cloud software," Gerstner said at CNBC Delivering Alpha Investor Summit on Thursday in New York. The widely followed tech investor called the rise of AI a "super-cycle" just like the dotcom boom in the late 1990s. Gerstner said he's grown hopeful about the coming years as the Federal Reserve nears the end of its tightening cycle. Learn more about CNBC's Delivering Alpha investor summit here.

BRASILIA, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank employees said on Monday they would intensify work stoppages in protest of the government's alleged failure to address career improvement demands, a move that will impact the development of new initiatives at the bank. The National Union of Central Bank Employees (SINAL) said in a statement that this phase of the protest is expected to affect the timeline for launching the Brazilian central bank's digital currency, DREX, initially slated for late 2024. The central bank said it would not comment on the matter. Central bank authorities have been emphasizing the introduction of installment-based payments. The employees are advocating for central bank analysts to be treated as auditors, ensuring they receive compensation tied to productivity, similar to federal revenue auditors.
