Prince Harry alleges that the publisher used unlawful methods to produce stories about him and others in his vicinity. Under the bright lights of the simple court room, the prince largely remained softly spoken but also seemed more confident when responding to questions. Prince Harry argued during the trial that some tabloid reporters have used the blanket term of “royal sources” to shield more nefarious practices. In representing MGN, Green forensically went through the tabloid articles in question in excruciating detail. The toll of being the first senior royal to testify in court in over 130 years appeared to emotionally push Prince Harry toward the end of proceedings.

[1/4] People watch a TV broadcasting a news report on North Korea firing what it called a space satellite toward the south, in Seoul, South Korea, May 31, 2023. REUTERS/Kim Hong-JiSEOUL, June 4 (Reuters) - North Korea denounced the U.N. Security Council for holding a meeting on its recent satellite launch upon "robbery demands" from the U.S., vowing to continue rejecting sanctions and taking "self-defensive" action, state media KCNA said on Sunday. She said the satellite launch was a "legitimate, self-defensive countermeasure" against increasing threats from the U.S. and its allies, which Pyongyang have accused of rekindling tension with their annual springtime military drills. North Korea will never acknowledge U.N. sanctions resolutions "even if they slap them hundred, thousand times," she said, pledging to continue exercising its sovereign rights, including launching spy satellites. North Korea had informed the IMO of a time frame of its planned satellite launch, and the resolution "strongly" condemned the isolated country's missile tests "which seriously threatened the safety of seafarers and international shipping."

'Granary of China' braces for more wheat-damaging rain
  + stars: | 2023-06-01 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +1 min
Known as the "granary of China", the south of Henan had been struck by higher-than-normal rainfall in the last week of May days ahead of the harvest of wheat planted in the last winter. Medium to heavy precipitation can be expected in the south of Henan on Saturday, national weather forecasters reported on Thursday. China's winter wheat accounts for the majority of the country's annual wheat output. China, including important grain-growing provinces like Henan, is no stranger to floods and droughts. But abnormal weather patterns such as excessively heavy rain still risk devastating key crops and squeezing supplies.

The campaign unearthed such racism that Black youths canvassing the Northside for Measure P were threatened. Measure P landed on the 2018 ballot. (Chappelle notoriously walked off the show during production of its third season, with only enough material for three episodes in the can.) ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ (June 30)There may have been better early-2000s romantic comedies, but this 2003 hit from Donald Petrie may be the most early-2000s romantic comedy. Scott’s frequent leading man Denzel Washington brings tormented complexity to the grizzled hero, whose shift at M.T.A. dispatch is disrupted by a madman (John Travolta) whose crew takes over a subway car and holds its passengers hostage. And James Gandolfini is wonderful (and miles from Tony Soprano) as the city’s mayor.

The NYPD simply said “numerous photographers” had “made their transport challenging” following their departure from the Ziegfeld Ballroom. “We stand by our founding fathers.”The Sussexes declined to comment on the matter when approached by CNN. The Princess of Wales died in 1997 after suffering internal injuries resulting from a high-speed car crash in Paris. Once the photographs are out and the stories then put next to it, then comes the social media harassment. To see another woman in my life, who I love, go through this feeding frenzy – that’s hard.
London CNN —There’s no denying the echoes to the late Princess Diana’s 1997 death in a car crash in Paris. As their first public appearance since Prince Harry returned from King Charles’ coronation in London, it had initially seemed a pretty routine affair. Chris Sanchez, who was part of the royal security detail, told us they were immediately followed from the event by a dozen vehicles. It is important to note that these photographers have a professional responsibility to cover newsworthy events and personalities, including public figures such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” the statement outlined. However, those images appear to show Prince Harry documenting the moment on his phone, so we may yet learn more about what exactly happened from their perspective in the future.

Getting to the Heart of Mexico, One Chile at a Time

Finally, we found the right cluster of buildings amid the agricultural fields, the largest one a sea of agave plants, their blue-gray rosettes extending into the distance. The chile de agua was vibrant, and just as delicious as its scent — sweet, sour and earthy — had suggested when one of them had served as my mezcal tumbler the day before. I had come to Mexico to learn about chiles and try to put their essence in a bottle I could open up back in my kitchen in Kyiv. I could buy bags of dried chiles, bring them to Kyiv and cook the salsas, moles and stuffed chiles exactly the way I had been taught by everyone on my journey. Cannes 2023: The Films We’ve Excited About Seeing

Wes Anderson’s films have premiered at a wide variety of festivals, but after “Moonrise Kingdom” (2012), “The French Dispatch” (2021) and his upcoming ensemble comedy “Asteroid City,” Cannes is the fest he keeps coming back to. Last week, I asked Anderson what he finds so compelling about a debut on the Croisette. “The reason to go to Cannes, I think, is because they said yes,” he deadpanned. “After that, there isn’t really much to contemplate.”Well, there’s a little more to it than that, Anderson admitted: For cinema lovers, there is no holier pilgrimage to make than to the Cannes Film Festival, where movies are treated with the utmost reverence and routinely given marathon standing ovations. It is a place where great auteurs have been canonized, like Martin Scorsese, who won the Palme d’Or in 1976 for “Taxi Driver” and will return this year with his new feature “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and Quentin Tarantino, a Palme winner (for “Pulp Fiction” in 1994) and Cannes habitué who’ll be back at the fest this year for a wide-ranging conversation that may touch on his upcoming final film.

The Indian tribunal said the new resolution professional will take "all necessary steps including the execution of the arbitral award".

CNN —The Church of England has changed the wording of its invitation to the public to pledge allegiance to King Charles during his coronation, following a public backlash. The Archbishop of Canterbury will now give people the option of saying just “God save King Charles” rather than making the full pledge of allegiance. The move follows widespread criticism of the proposed pledge. So help me God.”In a previous version of the text, published in April, the archbishop was to “call upon all persons of goodwill in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of the other realms and the territories to make their homage, in heart and voice, to their undoubted king, defender of all.”The earlier version had been described as “ill-advised” by a prominent friend of the King. London CNN —Britain was waking up Saturday to a once-in-a-generation royal event: the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London. While Charles became King on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in September last year, the coronation is the formal crowning of the monarch. In a ceremony that is expected to last at least two hours, Charles will be officially crowned, presented with an array ceremonial objects and be recognized as King by various representatives of the British state. Charles and Camilla will travel along the route to the abbey in a splendid coach drawn by six horses, accompanied by the Household Cavalry. Charles’ consort Camilla will also be crowned in a shorter, simpler part of the ceremony.
This is a special coronation edition of CNN’s Royal News, a weekly dispatch bringing you the inside track on Britain’s royal family. King Charles III stands on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on the day of his coronation in London, England, on May 6. As we understand it, today’s staging was a little more impromptu – approved by the King but done so in the moment. Chris Jackson/Pool/APBeyond the balcony moment, ceremonially speaking, the day was note-perfect. Ultimately, Charles’ coronation wasn’t a celebration for everyone in the UK – many shrugged off the pomp with indifference, and plenty raised questions about holding the publicly-funded revelry in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

WASHINGTON, May 5 (Reuters) - The FBI said on Friday it was coordinating with the city of Dallas, Texas, over a ransomware incident that disrupted several public services, closing courts and knocking emergency services websites offline this week. "The FBI is aware of the incident and coordinating with the city of Dallas. Courts were closed on Wednesday and Thursday, the city said in a series of statements posted online. Although the statements said emergency services to residents were unaffected, the home pages of the police and fire service were unavailable on Friday, and a police spokesperson said the city's computer-aided dispatch system had been hit. The ransomware operation behind the Dallas hack is called Royal, according to two security researchers familiar with the incident.
