After Davies had scored with a bullet header just over a minute into play, Croatia showed their class with Kramaric levelling in the 36th minute and Marko Livaja putting the 2018 finalists ahead just before the break. Croatia got two more after the break, with Kramaric getting his second in the 70th minute and Lovro Majer scoring in stoppage time. Croatia join Morocco at the top of the Group F standings on four points and now need only a draw in their final game against Belgium to progress. Canada, in the World Cup for just the second time, are bottom of the table and still looking for their first ever win. Canada's Atiba Hutchinson will become the first man to win 100 caps for the country after he was named in their staring line-up. Cyle Larin came in for Junior Hoilett in the only change to the Canada side that were beaten 1-0 by Belgium in their opener. It's important to get on well with your colleagues, the superyacht crew told Insider. For the crew, however, it's a rather different story: they must spend months working very long days before going to sleep in tiny cabins tucked away on the vessel. The crew cabins are hidden away at the rear of the main deck. Rijeka told Insider she's trying to save as possible to achieve her dream of opening a bar in Hawaii. GooletsThe captain's right-hand man Zoran Vidović, 39, told Insider that working on a superyacht can be very enjoyable but is often quite demanding.
The 56-year-old coach gave credit to Canada, who took a shock lead after just 68 seconds when Alphonso Davies scored their first goal at a men's World Cup finals to take the lead. They scored a goal in the first minutes that gave them more energy and power, but we managed to stabilize ourselves," Dalic said. In their path stand Belgium in the final group game, a team that has not impressed yet but that is still brimming with talent. "This is a World Cup, there are no easy games. It will be a difficult game, Belgium need a win but we will also aim for a win," Dalic said.
Croatia school trash-talking Canada

DOHA, Nov 27 (Reuters) - After an opening loss to Belgium, coach John Herdman had boldly predicted that Canada, who had not won a single World Cup game or even scored a goal, was "gonna eff Croatia" the 2018 finalists. While Canada may have been humbled, Herdman remained unbowed making no apologies for his incendiary remarks beyond grudgingly admitting he could have been a little more diplomatic. Back in the World Cup for just the second time and the first in 36 years, Canada came to Qatar with several objectives and accomplished one of those on Sunday. Alphonso Davies scored Canada's first ever goal in a men's World Cup with a bullet header just over a minute into the game. Canada will host the 2026 World Cup along with the United States and Mexico.
The Croatians seemed to have no-one who could match the power and agression of the fired-up Canadians, but Kramaric finally shook them from their slumber on the half-hour mark. Inevitably it was Kramaric who got the equaliser, and suddenly, the air went out of the Canadian bubble. Shortly afterwards the 31-year-old striker was substituted, with the job done and Belgium still to come. The bright spot for Croatia is that they scored four goals from their 10 attempts on target. Like Kramaric, it is not in the Croatians nature to play conservatively, but it might yet provide their best chance of getting into the last 16.

Tall midfielder Amadou Onana will start in the place of Youri Tielemans having impressed off the bench in the 1-0 win over Canada, while Thorgan Hazard, brother of captain Eden, comes in for Yannick Carrasco. Right back Thomas Meunier was preferred to Leander Dendoncker. Morocco are unchanged from the 0-0 draw with Croatia as left back Noussair Mazraoui has recovered from a hip injury sustained in that game. Belgium will qualify for the last 16 with a victory and will hope for a much-improved performance compared to the win over Canada, which Martinez called "technically the worst" showing of his six years in charge.
World Cup 2022: Argentina's route to title explained

Dec 18 (Reuters) - Argentina won their third World Cup trophy after the final in Qatar on Sunday. Here is what you need to know about their route to the title:HOW DID ARGENTINA QUALIFY FOR THE ROUND OF 16? HOW DID ARGENTINA REACH THE SEMI-FINALS? HOW DID ARGENTINA REACH THE FINAL? * In the penalty shootout, Argentina keeper Emiliano Martinez saved Kingsley Coman's effort and Aurelien Tchouameni fired wide to give Argentina their first world title since 1986, and third overall.
DOHA, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Substitutes Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal earned Morocco their first World Cup victory in 24 years as they upset a hugely disappointing Belgium side 2-0 in World Cup Group F on Sunday. It was Morocco's first win at a World Cup since they beat Scotland in 1998. That’s what happens at the World Cup," said Belgium coach Roberto Martinez. Croatia, who have a point from their draw with Morocco, play Canada in the other Group F game later on Sunday. As Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne struggled to find his range and Eden Hazard remained largely ineffective, Morocco looked safe.
Against Belgium, man of the match Ziyech showed what the team was missing in a brilliant performance that helped Morocco to their first World Cup victory since beating Scotland 3-0 in 1998. "He is incredible, the spirit he has, coming back to the national team," a jubilant Regragui said. "A lot of people talk about him, say he is crazy and difficult to manage, that he can't help the team. Ziyech had Morocco's first shot on goal in the second half, and was allowed to move freely between the lines in the front third, tormenting the Belgian defence. Another substitute, Abdelhamid Sabiri, struck the shot that touched captain Romain Saiss on its way in for the first goal.
Both are players the team usually relies on heavily but Martinez refused to blame individuals. "We haven't been the best Belgium at this World Cup yet," he admitted. Without the ball we still work for each other but when we have the ball, we don't stand out, we are not ourselves. "After the goal, the game changed radically and we were not careful enough with the ball to hurt Morocco." "We have a lot of quality up front but so does Morocco and they came out better today.
AL RAYYAN, Qatar, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has warned the Belgian-born players in his squad to stay focused when they face Roberto Martinez's men in the World Cup on Sunday, saying they risk costly mistakes if they get emotional on a "special" occasion. "For any dual national .. they have a special emotion and that's a positive energy and you have to draw on that," Regragui told reporters on Saturday. Morocco are tied with Croatia on one point, with Belgium the leaders on three points and Canada bottom with zero. "He is out for now but hopefully he will back for tomorrow," Regragui said. Morocco beat Belgium 4-1 the last time the teams met in 2008 in an international friendly.
AL RAYYAN, Qatar, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic said his team deserve respect as the runners-up of the last World Cup after Canada manager John Herdman said "we are going to eff Croatia" ahead of Sunday's clash. Herdman later seemed apologetic, saying he meant "no disrespect to the Croatian team and Croatian people", but Dalic thought otherwise. "The Croatian team deserves respect from everyone. Dalic said the Canadians, who are making their first appearance at the World Cup finals in 36 years, are a "serious team". Croatia are tied with Morocco on one point in Group F, where Belgium are leaders on three points and Canada bottom with none.
Finishing bottom of the group at Russia 2018, a tournament Germany went into as defending champion, was a historic low for the four-time World Cup winner. But after that shock 2-1 defeat to Japan in its opening match, it is once again a distinct possibility. That result means the match against Spain is do or die for Germany, as a defeat would confirm an early flight home from Qatar. World Cup team camps have traditionally been somewhat strict, private affairs, but Spain head coach Luis Enrique has been taking an unconventional approach to passing the time behind closed doors. In Group E’s other match, Japan knows victory over Costa Rica will guarantee its place in the knockout stages.
DOHA, Nov 26(Reuters) - Canada manager John Herdman said on Saturday his team was fired up for a test against 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia after the Canadians fell to Belgium 1-0 despite outplaying them. Canada, taking part in their second World Cup, are still looking to score their first goal in the history of the men's tournament. Canada face Croatia, who drew Morocco 0-0 in their opener, on Sunday in what Herdman described as a "massive game""It's a hell of a test for this team. Emotional after Canada's solid performance against the second-ranked team in the world, Herdman drew the attention of Croatian media after he said his team would go and "eff Croatia". Herdman, who had previously acknowledged his impassioned comments had not been terribly respectful to Croatia, laughed off the Croatian tabloid story on Sunday.
A handful of creators are in Qatar, or heading there in the next few weeks, to help capture the best moments from the 2022 World Cup. This year’s World Cup, which has been shrouded in controversy, kicked off Sunday. In a Short posted earlier this week, de la Haye captured his dad's reaction when he told him they're going to the World Cup. "Every World Cup ... faithfully, we sit and home and support our team." He will be filming from the semifinal and final matches, but made a comedic Short with his World Cup predictions.
KYIV, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Ukraine will summon the Hungarian ambassador to protest that Prime Minister Viktor Orban went to a football match wearing a scarf depicting some Ukrainian territory as part of Hungary, the Ukrainian foreign ministry said on Tuesday. "The promotion of revisionism ideas in Hungary does not contribute to the development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations and does not comply with the principles of European policy," ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko wrote on Facebook. Nikolenko said Ukraine wanted an apology and a rebuttal of any Hungarian claims on Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian media showed images of Orban meeting a Hungarian footballer wearing a scarf which the outlet Ukrainska Pravda said depicted a map of "Greater Hungary" including territory that is now part of the neighbouring states of Austria, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine. The Saudis, the second-lowest ranked team at the World Cup and coached by former Morocco boss Herve Renard, beat Lionel Messi's Argentina 2-1 to deliver one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history. Morocco are 10 places below 2018 World Cup runners-up Croatia in the world rankings and Regragui said his team were inspired by the way the Saudis had outplayed Argentina. "If Croatia doesn't allow us to have full possession tomorrow, OK, then we need to be very strong at the back. He's shown us what we can do and I hope we'll be able to feel the same as Saudi Arabia." Morocco captain Romain Saiss said the Saudi win proved once again that anything was possible in football.
AL RAYYAN, Qatar, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Back in the World Cup for just the second time and the first time in 36 years, underdog Canada will head into their opener against second-ranked Belgium 100% fit and with nothing to lose, coach John Herdman said on Tuesday. Davies, who will play on the wing for Canada, only joined his team mates on Friday after staying back in Germany for treatment. Herdman had said Davies would be assessed when he arrived in Doha and on Tuesday pronounced the 22-year-old good to go. "You've got ask the question, if not the first game what's the risk, what's the second game risk but at the end of the day Phonzie is fit now. Having not been in the World Cup since 1986, Canada's players have never experienced the pressure of such moments and that says Herdman could be a positive.

Sberbank Europe AG, based in Vienna, was closed in March by order of the European Central Bank (ECB), which cited the risk of imminent failure resulting from the bank's economic difficulties and the potential for a run on deposits after Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine. The SRB, which was set up to limit the cost to taxpayers from failing banks, on March 1 adopted resolution schemes with respect to Sberbank Europe's subsidiaries in Croatia and Slovenia, ruling that shares be transferred to a buyer, citing risks to the financial stability of the two countries. Sberbank did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuits, which were brought on Aug. 22, filings published by the European Union showed on Monday. The South Americans are on a 36-match unbeaten run with top scorer and captain Messi playing his fifth and last World Cup in search of the elusive honour that would grant him immortality at home alongside Diego Maradona. "I see him as always ... eager to enjoy the World Cup," said head coach Lionel Scaloni, trying to ease some of the pressure on his main man. Yet they have pedigree too: this is their sixth World Cup, they reached the last 16 in 1994, and they made it to Qatar by topping their group ahead of Japan. Renard's far lesser-known team is entirely home-based, with the financial clout of the Saudi Pro League ensuring few leading players aspire to venture overseas. Argentina will fully expect to beat Mexico and Poland in their other Group C games, whereas the Saudis may have to accept damage limitation in their opening match before a more realistic quest for points in their next two.
DOHA, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Harry Kane said he hopes to break Wayne Rooney's England scoring record "as soon as possible" as the striker prepares to lead his country into their World Cup Group B opener with Iran on Monday. Kane scored six goals in Russia in 2018 when England's run was stopped by Croatia in the semi-finals. Aged 29, he knows that this tournament might also present his best opportunity to do what no England captain has done since Bobby Moore lifted the World Cup in 1966. "I was lucky enough to play in the 2018 World Cup and had an amazing experience at a great tournament. "We know that under Carlos in the last World Cup they were very organised against big opponents and difficult to play against.
